Bought to use for voice control of TV using Echo Dot for an MS patient that can't use a hand remote control. It works perfectly! Problem solved!

I own both this model and the newer version of this remote. I love them both. They handle everything I throw at them.
I've only had a problem with my finding the code for my Sceptre TV but that was resolved with a quick google search and programming two buttons. I was able to move my settings from my now retired Harmony 880 effortlessly.
I do miss my screen for troubleshooting, but using my phone works well

Works with Directv and Alexa. I use it with Alexa to change channels, pause, and play. Use the remote app on my iphone to get to guide and list.

Easy to set up. Found all my devices very quick and easily. I connect to Amazon Echo because I wanted to use voice control. It is a little glitchy. It doesn't always turn on my tv. Not sure it's is the harmony hub or the Echo. The app is easy use and program.

Great remote. Logitech is the best. Easy to setup all components and create scenes. I have it paired with Alexa and they work great together!

Bought primarily because I could use 2 separate IR outputs to 2 32" Samsung TVs to control independently (3 TVs on same wall). Wish the remote output IR so I could control the 55" TV as well. Setup is a pain, app is useless, need to log in on web. Ok for price I paid but there needs to be a similar version with more features and ability to complete more activities/actions.

For my newer system devices, the smart control automatically downloaded the "codes". For my older audio equipment, no codes were found, and therefore had to train the new remote with the older one. VERY time consuming. I would check logitech website first to see if ALL your devices are supported without training your new remote.

It's better than remotes I've bought before for much more money. I like that my iPhone can act as my remote but the included stand-alone works just fine. Very Happy

I have used many programmable remotes including the Harmony 650. The biggest downfall of the 650 was having to point the remote at the devices while it cycled through all the commands, invariably someone would hit the "Watch TV" button then set the remote down and we would be stuck in a state where half the devices have turned on but the remote thinks it's done. Since I've switched to the Harmony Hub I have not had a single problem with devices turning off/on, the blaster is far more powerful than what comes from a handheld remote so that it hits every devices (with one repeater for a devices that's behind a door). The layout is incredibly simple to use and intuitive and setup is a breeze. I love the customability especially when extending to control devices like the Amazon Fire Stick (add in a mic to the remote and it's the perfect replacement ;). I convinced my cousin to purchase this remote as he was going crazy using 5 remotes to watch all his devices, he is not technical in any intepretation of the word. I came over and configured the remote for him and he has not had a single problem with the system since.
Hands down my favorite remote if you have more 2 devices to control (it may be a little overkill if you only have a TV and one other device).

I've used a hub for a while integrated with my Google assistant (works great). Removed the need for multiple remotes and simplified my multi-component home theater setup. The smart control remote is great to have as well. Now we can easily control our home theater with voice, the harmony app, or the remote.

The remote is easy to set up with your equipment. The activities are a little tricky as the device cannot be changed so the activity must be deleted and create new. Make the activity editable and 5 stars. Very good product for the price.

Good if with Alexa, otherwise don't bother

Bottom line, if you're buying this to use as a stand alone remote, either stick with the Harmony 650 or get the more expensive model. The hub offers nothing over the standard IR remotes and using your phone as a remote is not convenient at all. You have to tab multiple pages just to navigate the menu and change the channel. The included basic remote doesn't have enough buttons to operate multiple devices and you'll sometimes need to use your phone to use the menu of the devices.
On the other hand, if you pair this with Alexa then it becomes a much more worth while investment. The voice control is still somewhat limited, but you can turn on/off each activity and device. You can tell it to turn on channels you've favorited, or go straight into a roku app like Netflix. It still doesn't fix the issues with the basic remote, but voice control makes it more usable.

The remote works great. The one thing that is important to do is make sure you put the sensor in a good position so that the remote picks up the signal.

The right combination

The right combination between a simple handheld remote and a very usable app interface. Not perfect but well priced and functional. Some users will default to the app for control while other will find the slim handheld very practical most of the time. Some AV systems can be very complex and might be overwhelming for such a controller but most of the time the user wants to control about three activities (you can do six on this remote). The app while not the most refined is nice enough and at this price point is a very good choice. The interactive app (two way communication with the hub) at this price is a good deal!
The programming, firmware updating and the device library needs some improving. Integrating some of the RF technologies still suffers because it depends on other manufacturers and vendors implementation of control framework.

Remote works well. I have an Apple TV, Samsung TV, Yamaha receiver (about 15 years old), Energy sound bar and Sony DVD player. All controlled with Harmony and Alexa. Setup was tricky but be patient.
Voice commands are nice with Alexa..

I've been playing with the idea of a Harmony hub for a long time. I already have a 650 and an ultimate and when my 650 ended up in the wash with our comforter I decided to bite the bullet and get the smart control. I'm still playing around with it but programming activities wirelessly from you phone is WAY more convenient than plugging your Harmony into a computer to make changes. PS4 control is a great plus and this package gives the addition of a physical remote as well so all in all I'm very pleased so far. There's a bit of initial setup involved but it's very easy if you can follow instructions the app will walk you through all of it. Must buy for those of us that use our game consoles as entertainment hubs as well.
