I got this to keep an eye on things while I'm away. works great.

The packaging was easy to take apart. The camera turned on straight away and already had a charge. The app was not easy to find in the play store - I had to type logi circle instead of just circle. The app was quick to download and the connected to the camera. I thought it would somehow pick up my Wi-Fi login so I wouldn't have to run to my router to get the long password (yes, I use the default Verizon password). Once I gave the app the password, the camera connected straight away. I worried the image was grainy to begin with. I didn't realize I had forgotten to remove the small film over the camera! Film removed, the image looked great. It is 720p and gives a great picture even when my phone is not connected to the Wi-Fi. My 3 year old quickly decided it didn't need to be on charge anymore and took it off the cradle. To my surprise, it maintained the connection well, no issue. The camera moves on its pivot (up and down only) and stays in place, no rotation though. The lag seems to be around 1 second. It took me a while to figure out I needed to swipe left on the screen to access the settings. The charging base has an 8 foot power cable, allowing this camera to be positioned in the corner of a room high up away from kids hands. The base itself is magnetic, we have a kids kitchen in the corner of a living room which has metal screws, the camera almost locks itself in position over that screw which means it’s at less of a risk of being moved out of view. The camera relies on seeing movement in front of it to trigger an event. I have mostly pointing into my living room where my dog is with a lot of foot traffic and this triggers 100s of alarms a day. I am using the native android app which gives me a notification on my drop down screen, but selecting said notification doesn’t take me into the app. I have to still select the app on my homepage to login. The app once set up on your phone doesn’t require any more logins. I use a Samsung Smart cam and have to hit 3 different buttons to eventually get to the camera. To get to the camera is a lot quicker and smother in the circle app. I also have a Belkin camera and the iBaby camera, of which, the iBaby app is the only one that runs in the background constantly without draining the battery, allowing us to hear noise from the baby room. Neither the Circle, Belkin nor Samsung do this. The app itself can only be used in horizontal mode and lacks a web app function. My phone lives in its docking station so removing it and rotating it to view the camera seems more of a hassle than anything. After the initial app update, a function came up to do what seem to be downloading an event. I have done this several times and still cannot figure out where this downloads to on my phone. The speaker compared to other cameras is a bit weak. I found myself shouting at my phone to get a decent sound from the camera. The Samsung camera is much louder. The automatic night vision needs to kick in a lot sooner. I found myself shutting lights around the house as they were reflecting on a wall and the camera sensed it was “daylight” and refused to go to night vision, even though half the screen was dark. The day brief function is great, starts at midnight and gives you an accelerated view for 30 seconds. I haven’t figured out how it selects the footage but it does show me what my kids and dog are up to when I am in another room, for the most part. No sound though… 24 hour storage is great, and free, which is a great package to include. I am trying to find a solution where I can record footage to a server, this camera will not support that functionality. The battery life is not great. At most, 3 hours before it died (not 12 as per the box). It took well over 14 hours to get back to full charge. I would not recommend the use of this camera as a security camera. There is no activity zone, motion sensor customization, sound alerts – you need to rely on the app to make this decision for you. I think as a first generation camera from logitiech, it’s a great camera. I love the simplicity around this camera. I have tried about 6 other manufacturers and this by far was the easiest to set up, best app for getting to the camera straight away and has a great picture. The restrictions in the app let it down. This is essentially a webcam with night vision which can be used to keep an eye on the house, with a 135 degree view. Knowing logitech, they are already working on a 2nd or even 3rd generation circle camera. As a wife and mother of 3 little ones I love my time spent at home. Unfortunately my career as a full time General Manager keeps me away from my husband and children too often. Phone calls are just not the same! My problem has truly been solved with the Logi Circle by Logitech. A simple click of the app on my phone gives me direct access to my family. Not only can I see them in a awesome quality, I can interact with them verbally! I can hear them and they can hear me. It also has night vision! The Logi Circle is small enough to not be a eye sore in your home and pretty durable. The charging port is magnetic to ensure it is connected for proper charging and you can mount and angle the camera with ease. This product is of much better quality than others like it. Look no further!
