The range of the USB component is limited, and in my case it made a huge difference if the USB was on the right side of the laptop (where I use my mouse) or the left side, where the range is less effective and sometimes acts like it is not working. This short range (a few inches) is a common problem in wireless mice I have so no big deal. But if you aren't aware of it and put your USB on the wrong side of the laptop, you could think the mouse is defective. It is not.

I placed the order and picked it up at my local store in the same day. Unboxed it, popped a battery in, and it's been working great from day ONE. The design fits my hand and grip perfectly. It is very comfortable to use, and rolls smoothly. I would buy again.
