Great if you have wrist pain

a different sort of mouse

But 10 years later, not so much. There is a learning curve to getting used to it. Ten years later, I'm just more used to the standard Microsoft wireless basic mouse. BUT, if you like the trackball model, this is a great mouse.

This is an OK trackball

This is an average version that requires scrolling with your right hand thumb or your left hand pinky finger. I prefer the trackball with the scroller on the top of the trackball to allow either hand to be used to perform the functions.
