If you love trackballs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a diehard Trackman userfor years. Then Logitech stopped making the ones with the thumb ball. All I could find were ones with the center ball, and I don't find those as comfortable. This is a new generation of old trackball! Simply put--it's fabulous. The ONLY thing I am struggling with currently is the side buttons, which are now located on the top left of the mouse, to be operated with your index finger instead of your thumb. I assign these as copy and paste functions. I'm sure as my use increases, it will become second nature to reach for them in the new spot, but reaching back with my thumb still seems more natural for now. The new option to position the mouse on sort of magnetic hinge is a game changer for comfort. i find the middle setting to be most consistent with the natural angle of my hand. This will help so many folks with CT and finger fatigue. Accuracy is spot on as always with Logitech. No more changing batteries with the rechargeable feature, and the materials are all soft touch and top notch. No peeling to occur with these finishes. I'm thrilled to have my trackball back.

Nice mouse!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First impression quality, second impression heavy and big, third impression high tech. What I like about it: nice look and feel, definitely high quality, charge instead of battery, can fit your whole hand comfortably on it, easy setup, adjustable height (nice touch) what I don’t like: it’s huge for my small hands I feel like it’s too much when trying to use it, it’s heavy do to the magnetic base that is used to adjust the height to your liking, once you remove that piece it does become a lighter to handle. I am not a fan of the scrolling wheel off to the side feels in the way. I am on a computer for 8 hours a day and I was excited to try this out to see if there is any difference from using a regular mouse, I didn’t notice one. I did also appreciate the functionality of being able to have it connected to two computers at the same time and it’s easliy switched right on the mouse. This definitely a good mouse for larger hands, possibly a gamer or computer programmer. Anyone who uses the computer for work or play for long periods of time it will give you comfort from a standard mouse.

Best trackball mouse so far
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hands down, this is the best trackball mouse I have used so far. Being a mechanical designer by profession, I work 8+ hours on computer and use mouse 100% of the time. I've been doing this since years and my hand started showing carpel tunnel syndrome. I have been using Logitech's G602 gaming mouse for my design work in SolidWorks as the mouse has a lot of buttons that I had programmed with my design software for shortcuts. Everything was working perfectly until the day I started feeling pain in my hand and my productivity started going down as I had to take breaks after every half an hour or so to give some rest to my hand. As a result, I couldn't keep up with my workload and couldn't finish my work on time. My coworker recommended I use a trackball mouse and I came across this Logitech's MX Ergo Plus and my life has changed ever since. This was a life saver for me. I feel less pain in my hand now. It does take some time to get used to but once you get a hang of it, there's no looking back. Not that my other mouse is/was bad, it's just didn't work out. I do, however, miss all those extra buttons for shortcuts which this trackball mouse lacks but it's better to spend 5 extra minutes/day rather than wasting an hour/day. I said 5 minutes because that's probably how much I would save by the shortcuts. The mouse itself uses bluetooth and can be charged with a usb cable provided with it. So far, I haven't noticed any lag using it in wireless mode which some people might be concerned for. Battery life is also great. The trackball itself is very impressive and works like charm. It's very smooth to operate. And the best part is it's tilt adjustablity. The mouse base is attached to a magnet and can be adjusted from 0 to 20 degree depending on your comfort level as was advertised by the company. I would definitely recommend this trackball to everyone, specially if you are like me who spends majority of their time working on computer with extensive use of mouse. But as mentioned above, it will take some time to get used to it. I'm very happy with this trackball.

Glad someone is still making a trackball
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A few years back I had to switch to a trackball as a desperate attempt to alleviate some pain in my arm. It definitely helped, along with adjusting the way I sit and position of monitors. So it was becoming more and more difficult to find a trackball. Logitech was really the best/only choice it seemed. I had been rocking the M570 for a while now. The MX Ergo Plus is a nice new addition to the Logitech lineup. This trackball is solidly built and feels very sturdy. It feels nearly triple the weight of the older M570. The exterior texture is nice and smooth. The size and shape allow this trackball to fit near perfectly in the palm of my hand. The buttons are well placed and have a nice tactile response to them. The clicks feel sturdy and give nice feedback when pressed. I will say that I am very happy with the upgrade to the mouse 4/5 buttons. The M570 was always a little hit & miss due to their size and location, but also the amount of haptic feedback they gave when pressed. The MX Ergo's buttons are fantastic and respond properly every time. There's a nice little magnetic plate and stand for the bottom that enable you to adjust height and angle to fit just about any wrist or seating position. It seems like a simple addition, but it makes a big difference for extended use. Nice touch! I can't really speak to the battery life yet as I haven't used it completely wireless yet. I do find it rather odd that they provide a usb cable, but that the cable is only for charging and doesn't provide connectivity to the device. There were no instructions that came with the trackball so this had to be learned through trial and error. Logitech finally killed off SetPoint and replaced it with "Logitech Options". The new software has a little polish to it and feels very modern. It provides drivers and settings adjustments for just about every device Logitech makes. The unifying driver for the bluetooth interface is built into the software now so it means less junk to install. Plus they have added a new "old" feature to their software that could come in handy for some. Logitech Flow allows you to switch mouse control between multiple PCs and perform copy/paste functions. While this is a feature that's been around in plenty of freeware apps in the past, it's now built-in to the Options software. The Trackball has the ability to pair up to multiple devices and you can quickly and easily switch connectivity using a switch on the device. I don't foresee myself traveling too much with the trackball as it is heavy and large. But the option is there if I need it. In all, I would highly recommend this trackball to others. If you're still mousing along with a standard mouse you should consider the switch to a trackball. Your forearms will thank you!

Like no other "mouse" I have used!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech MX Ergo Advanced Wireless Trackball in like no other mouse I have used before. I am using is on my MacBook Air and Mac. It has and adjustable hinge that lets you angle it to the most comfortable hand position. I was able to find the most comfortable position in seconds. The technology makes it so much easier to control the content across two monitors. You can go between the two computers with the touch of one button. It definitely takes some getting used to - but it will increase my productivity. One of my favorite features is that is suer fast charging and the charge is supposed to last 4 months. I get tired of replacing the batteries in my wireless mouse so often. Works on Windows and Mac computers.

Nice upgrade from the M570
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been wanting a Bluetooth mouse to switch between computers at home, I still have the M570 that I use in the field with my work laptop. Switching between computers button was a great idea, the Logitech Option features is also a good program to configure and monitor all of my Logitech products, Has all of the buttons the 570 has and a couple more, including precision button, has built in rechargeable battery which is also a nice feature, at first I thought the bulkiness of the mouse was going to be a problem, but by the end of the night I was already use to the size.

Good Ergo mouse, awkward button placement
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not a fan of trackball. I am coming from Logitech G602/502/Performance line of mouse. As it is clearly not meant for gaming; I have been using this device primarily in office. Doing some coding, surfing and office. I have been using std mouse all along, but in few minutes I was able to get used to it. I can still do faster with std mouse, but considering I have only spent few hours with this one, it is not as bad as I expected. Build: Its built like a tank and looks like one as well, it made my G602 look tiny in comparison. I think it is important because your whole hand is resting on it. The scrolling is smooth, left click button position is fine and so does the scroll wheel. The right button though could have been better, its two finger shy of covering the whole surface. And at times instinctively I click in the area where there is no button. Similarly the placement of back/forward button is awkward, and is not like any other mouse I have used. instead of using your thumb as in most of the mouse, Logi chose to force the user to use their index finger. I will not be pressing back/fwd while using the trackball, so it make sense perfect sense to me to place the buttons near the trackball. Off-course you can get used to of this placement if you start using it exclusively. But if you plan to toggle between a std mouse and this, this placement is pain. The software is great as I reviewed in Performance MX review, Flow works beautifully and seamless between two machine. This mouse comes with a universal receiver, so if you already have one, just add this using the software. There is a precision button, which makes the pointer movement really slow, probably to be used with some image editing software. I did not find it useful in general usage. The magnetic plate allows it to go on a angle, I prefer it that way. I can not say how much strain it reduces for sure, but Logi claims 20%. Battery is good, it came charged for me and is still going on strong. The charging port is micro USB. If an ergonomic mouse is what you are looking for, go for it. If this is your first time or you want to use it along with a std mouse, I will say try it first. Buy it from where you can return it if you do not like it.(like BestBuy).

Great design, works well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This ergonomic track ball mouse is well designed and works well. It feels solid and well built, you can adjust the angle of the mouse to 1 of 3 positions that feels best for your wrist, and just worked straight out of the box with the tiny USB receiver. The track ball motion is smooth and the buttons are responsive. If you download the recommended software you can change button assignments, but I chose not to do that at this point. This is my first trackball mouse and it will take some getting used to, but I can tell it will save my wrist some strain over a traditional mouse. Also, I was surprised how large the mouse is and it is a little large for my small hands.

Trackball works great, a little bulky
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will warn you. I have been using a mouse for a long time and only briefly had used a trackball (typically older models in stores w/ only 1 large ball & two click buttons). I decided to try this out. I like the idea of the device not moving around and running out of space to reset like a mouse sometimes does. The logitech works pretty well, all the buttons/ball function as advertised. It is a little on the large size so if you are used to an average to mini size mouse it will seem large to you as well. I was not able to get my bluetooth connected to my work computer or home computer but I have a feeling that is due to the bluetooth settings on the computers, not the logitech function. I also was not able to use the screen to screen copy/paste that is advertised in the paperwork and online. Again, I believe it was an issue with my computer, not the device. I would have liked to try this out. Back to what I did do. The trackball works fine but takes getting used to compared to a mouse (you must work backwards basically). It is convenient not to have to move it around. I typically run out of space on my mousepad and have to reset. No longer. There are several angle adjustments available - 0 deg, 20 deg, 30 deg. For right-handed clickers you should be able to find a suitable one. I mentioned right-handers. If you prefer to use a mouse with your left, I don't believe there is a way to switch (like just changing left/right click on your mouse settings). This would be the same with any non-symmetric device. There is the typical left/right click buttons, a scroll wheel, forward/back buttons (for web pages), and a fine-scroll button (to move more precise-smaller range). There is also a sync/switch button to toggle between 2 devices. You can control 2 computers with this device at one time (one USB, one Bluetooth). The USB was easy to install, it is a micro dongle that you plug into your computer. It would be nice if the trackball had storage for this dongle so you don't lose it. Also for the angle adjustments, one part is a metal plate that attaches to the bottom of the trackball magnetically, the other is a wedge plate (feels like rubber) also magnetic that goes under the metal plate. Easy enough to use and adjust. As with device use and clicking. I noticed that the click location seems to not work like I am used to with a mouse. If I hover over a web link or something and try to click on it, several times I have missed the link. This may be a result of inadvertent trackball movement on my part, or something else with the device. I assume it is my thumb moving off the link, but still not an issue I've experienced with a mouse. In all this device works very well and I plan to use it in place of a mouse.

Great comfort in a short lifespan
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start this review I would like to point out that this is a well designed mouse, ergonomically. It's comfortable, the finish is nice, and my hand fits the curve and buttons in the correct spots. I have long "piano fingers" as I have been told, and though they arc up a bit, they are not fatigued or uncomfortable. I occasionally hit the button above the ball that I have set to adjust sensitivity profiles, but that's often due to me jostling around to new positions, or shifting from mouse to keyboard quickly. Overall I liked using this mouse, but it's not a long-term winner, and it's too expensive to fail in only 2 years. For background, I have been using Logitech Trackball style mice since the Logitech Trackman stationary mouse came out, in all it's flat, wide button glory. I even had a clip on Trackball for my first laptop given to me. Over the years I have updated gradually, and experienced all the thumb ball mice Logitech has released. I was settled on the Trackman Wheel, corded and cordless, for the longest time due to comfort and reliability. I game on a Trackball and I use it daily for work. I travel with them for use with my laptops. I now have a box full of ones that I no longer use, and there are almost 2 dozen in there. I definitely have experience with these mice. I tried the M570 for a brief period in 2011, but it didn't fit my hand well. The profile of the mouse was smaller than the Trackman Wheel I was using, and after several months I put it into back into it's box and stored it with my other ones. I went back to the Trackman Wheel for a while until the switches started failing after a couple years. Then my Trackman Wheel Cordless died in the same way after another couple years. I got roughly 6-7 years out of my two everyday-use Trackman mice. At that time, around the end of 2016, I went to using the M570 full time because I couldn't find a replacement Trackman Wheel, and I stuck with the M570 until the fall of 2018. In the fall of 2018 my M570 started experiencing the same button failures as my Trackman Wheels did, though it had only been used a total of just over 2 years. After researching the issue, I found it was common for the M570 to have early failure due to cheap switches being used in it. I also read reviews of the MX Ergo, but I read up on the switch issue more, and decided to replace them in one of my Trackman Wheels instead. I went back to using that for a little while, but in February of 2019 I finally decided to try the MX Ergo after seeing one in person and hearing more positive feedback on it. As mentioned, it's a well designed mouse. The tilt feature, the layout, and the finish led to it being the most comfortable mouse for me. I use a desk mat and the new base holds it in place very well due to the wider grip surface and the overall weight. The configurable left buttons on the M570 were uncomfortable to use and felt cheap, but the MX Ergo positions them better and they feel nicer. There's also not as much loose movement in the MX Ergo as the M570 experienced in the buttons. The optics are very accurate, the tilt wheel feels solid, and overall I really enjoy using the mouse day to day. I still game with it as well. But despite all the positives for the design it is dead for me already. Knowing about the switch failure from my past experiences and research, I asked about the switches in the MX Ergo prior to purchasing it. I didn't get an answer on whether the switches in the MX Ergo were the higher-end ones like I put into my Trackman, but I was told the new switches were improvements over the last. From what I found and was told, Logitech had addressed that issue with the new MX Ergo. Given the cost increase of more than double over what I last paid for the M570, they needed to. 2 months ago, however, I got some weird click and click-and-drag behavior. I cleaned the mouse out thoroughly and it seemed a bit better for a week or two. Then the erratic click behaviors started again, sporadically for a bit, and gradually worsening over a couple weeks. For the past two weeks the click issues have been really bad, mostly in situations where I need to hold the button down. These symptoms mimic the failures of the M570 and in almost the same time period under similar use patterns. I haven't taken it apart to investigate the switches yet, but I am guessing Logitech didn't really improve them that much. Because there is only a 1 year warranty on the mouse, Logitech can't (won't) do anything about it. They did offer a coupon for replacement, but at this cost I would expect the mouse to hold up better, or for them to stand behind it more. For the past 2 years I have enjoyed using this mouse, but that doesn't make up for the lack of longevity coupled with the higher cost. Logitech seems to have put a good deal of time and effort into the design of the MX Ergo, but skimped out on the quality to make a lasting product. I am searching replacements now, and am not sure what I want to do. I am sure, though, that I don't want to spend this amount of money on a new mouse every 2 years.

Posted .Hello Daved. Thank you for your detailed and helpful review of not only the MX Ergo mouse, but many of our trackball mice of the past. I'm sorry to hear that your MX Ergo is having issues. We just released the M575, which is an updated M570. It is about half of the price of the MX Ergo that might be an option to try out if another MX Ergo is not in the budget. Thank you for being a loyal Logitech user!

Very nice trackball
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can't believe how quickly I was able to get comfortable again with a trackball! I have used many Logitech trackballs over the years and really like the ones that are controlled by my thumb. I have rebuilt a couple of the old ones over the years and really miss having one now that they are gone. When I pulled it out of the box, I was surprised to see the way it can be adjusted for angle. Both the middle and tall wedges feel a lot like the devices I was so used to long ago. It was just a few seconds before my hand was feeling natural on this thing, meaning they really took a look at what made the old ones so great. I really like the ability to connect with both Bluetooth and the Unifying receiver and also being able to connect to more than one device with a single click. The finish is not overly exciting, and I hope it lasts better than some of the old trackball cases that became sticky over time. I am a little hesitant to tell a couple of my friends about this as I am pretty sure it will disappear if I do! It is a great mouse alternative if you have a small desk (or want to use it sitting in your recliner as I did for an hour or so the other night!) or a glass top that doesn't play well with normal mice.

Bought more than one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned this one for years with my MBPs. I will only use trackball so choosing between those options, this one feels premium and doesn't lose connection. I really like the extra tilt. The only feature I've seen in other trackballs that I wish this one had is a ball ejector to ease cleaning - but my mechanical pencil pushes it out (no lead), then I get some lead out and clean the inside. It does need cleaning more often than I'd like (no, I'm not dirtier than average), but maybe it's because it's years old... I've banged it up a few times into my desk because it's on a desk tray, but no loss in performance and I bought another one I guess just for cosmetic reasons after using it for years.

Does exactly what I needed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I work hybrid, 2 days at home, 3 in office. I needed a mouse that would easily switch between my work laptop and my personal laptop without requiring a KVM switch since I like to work from my couch! I much pre the trackball instead of the trackpad on the laptops. I ding one point because the ball can't be popped out for cleaning with a finger. I'm sure a qtip or something would do it but on their single computer model with a blue trackball it pops out with a finger.

Love It!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS: - Insane battery life - Customizable buttons with Logitech software - Adjustable angle makes using it much more comfortable - Wireless adapter or bluetooth connection - Can use with two computers at once - Extremely comfortable, even with large hands CONS: - Not a real "con", but I wish Logitech went with USB-C over micro USB for charging the mouse I love this mouse, I can't think of a more comfortable mouse to use than the MX ERGO Plus. With the Logitech software to customize your mouse (everything from button mapping to cursor speed), you can make this mouse truly your own. Pairing is effortless. If you use the included USB dongle, Windows takes care of everything and you're using the mouse right away without worrying about finding drivers. Using a bluetooth connection is just as easy (if you've paired any bluetooth mouse in the past you won't have any problems).

Wow... love it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time using a mouse like this. WOW. feels great in your hand. Has good size and weight to it. Rollerball is super easy to manipulate. There is a button next to it that slows the tracking down too. Nice tough. Lots of custom settings for the buttons available in the software you download separately. This is well made and an awesome mouse. I like you can set it ad 3 different angles to get it just right for your hand and how you sit at the desk. I have only used it on one computer so I can't comment on the feature that supposedly allows you to use it with multiple computers at the same time. Looking forward to trying that feature but we only have one computer at home so not sure when that will be. Very happy with the mouse and wondering why I waited so long to try this style.

3 Years Owned & Buying Again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing has saved my wrist and hand while doing hours of video editing. Yes, at first it was hard to navigate the ball, but now I am so accustomed to it. It's funny to watch others try it for the first time. You NEED to wash the ball after a while. I thought the mouse was broken, but the ball actually had accumulated gunk that was messing with the sensor. It pops right out, wiped it down, and worked perfectly. My only complaint now is my mouse is finally dying I think after 3 years of regular use. Even when fully charged, it's acting glitchy and delayed. But I did enjoy this mouse so much that I will be buying another.

Great for multiple monitors
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I utilize the trackball mouse on multi screen server stations as I find them easier to move throughout all the surveillance cameras. I can quickly jump from different monitors and then slow the slew rate to view specific locations on each camera screen. I have one set up to cover 8 monitors with roughly 45 cameras. I have 2 more covering 3 55" tvs controlling 90 plus cameras.

Works Well, Fits My Hand - Ball Is Too Light
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apparently these trackballs are like an endangered species. It was hard to find one that could be shipped quickly. Mine was supposed to be delivered the next day. Nope. Took an additional five days and complaining to customer service about it. The trackball itself works well. The buttons are in good positions. It does take a bit to get used to. My only complaint is that the ball itself is too light. A heavier ball would help me to be more precise with the mouse movement.
