Quality and Perfection in a Keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Logitech MX Keys has got to be my favorite full-size wireless keyboard. It has everything I could ask for in a nicely designed package. Build/Design – The main chassis of this keyboard is comprised of a graphite-colored metal plate with plastic keys. It’s heavier than I would have expected (1.78 lbs), which is actually a good thing as it keeps the keyboard from sliding around the desk. It looks very sleek and professional and nicely matches the Logitech Master MX 3 mouse. This is a full-size keyboard, so it includes a number pad. Keys – The plastic keys have a slight indent that pulls your finger in. It’s a bit different from the chicklet-style keys that I was used to on my previous keyboard (Logitech K810). After about three weeks of continual use, I have to admit that it still feels weird. The indent isn’t my favorite design, but I probably need a little more time with it to get used to the feel. Otherwise, the key-travel seems adequate. More importantly, the keyboard is very quiet. Backlight – The keys have more than enough lighting levels (seven, in fact) that can be manually adjusted or automatically adapt to the room’s lighting. There is a proximity sensor, so the keys will light up when it detects your hands nearby and turn off after about five seconds of no usage. Power – While rated at a 10-day battery charge with backlighting, and five months with backlighting turned off, I would have to say it’s pretty good. In a mixed-lighting environment, I’ve been able to use it for about three weeks, and the battery icon still shows two-thirds power remaining. Speaking of power, this does charge via USB-C. Included in the box is a USB-A to -C cable, by the way. Some random boring stuff – This is a multi-OS device, so it works with Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Linux. I’ve been able to connect it to my Windows computer and iPhone XS with no issue. This keyboard does support up to three devices with a switch for each on the keyboard. Using the Logitech Options app, you can remap several of the keys based on the different applications – which is not necessary, but a nice feature. Overall – Despite my gripe about the key indents, this is still overall a fantastic keyboard. I love the way it looks and its overall feature set. Although its price-point can be on the steep side, it is well worth it for a device that I use daily for hours on end.

Great look, would prefer corded version of this
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Loved the look of this keyboard, but would have preferred if it were corded. Admittedly, I am not the most tech savvy, and had an issue with a setting I could not undo. I use for drafting etc. and prefer the corded options as they are more responsive.

Quality wireless keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this keyboard! You can feel the quality just holding it in your hand. I like the feel of the keys, it's easy to type fast on even sitting in my lap. The backlight is nice and classy, and it can be turned up or down to my liking, or turned off if not needed. I like how it lights up by itself when my hands get near before I even touch it. The battery lasts a long time also, I charged it 3 weeks ago, and I still haven't had to put it back on the charger. I like the software that was bundled with it, the little Blu-tooth USB stick is super small and everything connected easily, and I was up and running within a minute or two of turning everything on.

Not worth the price
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to love this keyboard for my photo editing. However it randomly starts repeating keys (eg. I would type "a" and get "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" or sometimes it wouldn't respond. I have restarted, changed my USB hub, and changed cables from the hub to the computer, but no difference in function. I love the low profile, backlit keys, and solid feel. Yet it just did not function even to the lowest standards of consistency. If I typed painfully slowly, it worked most of the time. But it would not consistently handle higher speed typing. Unfortunately this is the second one of these I purchased and I hate to say I cannot recommend it. If someone has a fix to my problems, please let me know. But after two different keyboards did the same thing, I have to think that this is just a lemon product.

Posted .Hello, tgphotos! I would recommend downloading our Logitech Unifying Software here https://support.logi.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025297913 to un-pair and re-pair the MX Keys to your computer if you're using the Unifying receiver. Since you're using a USB hub, this could be causing the issue, as well. I would recommend using Bluetooth instead, if the Unifying Software doesn't help. Thank you for the feedback! I will be passing this along. - Maggie from Logitech

Garbage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this keyboard and returned it after a few days. I’m actually surprised by the positive reviews on here, because if you go on the manufacturers website, this keyboard does not have great comments. The hardware is the only nice thing going for it. Otherwise... - Bluetooth won’t stay connected. Connection in general lags. When it does find the connection, the keyboard pairing button wants me to select the PC I have a pair too, despite the fact I don’t have it paired to anything else. By the time the keyboard reconnects to the PC and you push the keys you end up with gibberish on the screen when it catches up. - You cannot adjust the backlights to stay on all the time, and the pre-program timer is too short. This could easily be fixed with a software update, yet 18 months on the market and no updates. Makes you wonder if Logi even cares. - Unlike other Bluetooth keyboards, plugging this in via USB will not allow it to work as a wired keyboard, it is only for charging. I had high hopes for this keyboard. Such a letdown

Posted .Hi Neal, thank you for taking the time to write this review. I'm sorry that you were not pleased with the features of the keyboard. Bluetooth connection does pose some difficulties in general with peripherals. I'm sorry that you seemed to experience some of those difficulties with your keyboard to computer/laptop. Currently through Logitech's Options software you are only able to disable the backlight not make it so it stays on. Thank you for being a Logitech customer. Kristi from Logitech.

My Favorite Desktop Keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS: - Extremely comfortable to type on for long periods of time - Non-bulky design to save desktop space - Backlit keys with proximity sensor - Quick toggle between three devices - Numeric keypad - Long battery life - USB-C charging (can use keyboard while charging) CONS: - No keyboard angle adjustment - Palm rest is extra from Logitech This is by far the best desktop keyboard that I have ever used. The keys have a great tactile feel, without being loud. There is virtually no key wobble, which helps make typing much more precise. The grooved center of each key also makes typing more comfortable for long periods of time. -- Set Up -- Setting up the MX Keys is incredibly easy. Just power on the keyboard, press and hold the device number you want (you can pair up to 3 devices), and find the keyboard in your laptop/desktop/tablet bluetooth settings to pair. I would recommend downloading Logitech's "Logitech Options" software from their website. Using "Options", you can track the battery level of the MX Keys and change the keyboard shortcuts. -- Battery Life -- Logitech's website claims that you can get up to 10 months without the backlighting on, so I can't say how accurate that is (yet). I don't usually use the backlighting on my keyboard, since my home office is pretty well-lit. However, if you do plan on keeping the backlighting on at all times, you don't need to stop working just to charge the keyboard. The MX Keys continues to work normally when you plug it in to charge. -- Features -- One cool feature Logitech included with the MX Keys was the keyboard proximity sensors for the backlighting. When you have the backlighting enabled and move your hands towards the keyboard, the backlighting will automatically turn on (and turn off when you move your hands away to save battery life). Another feature that Logitech added was the ability to transfer files between the computers that you have paired to the MX Keys (called "Logitech Flow"). It's a handy little option if you need to move files between your laptop and desktop. Unfortunately most of my work is in the cloud, so I don't see myself using too often, but it's still pretty cool. If you have Logitech Options installed on your computer, you can change the application buttons above the number pad. If you want to use the calculator button to open up your browser (or just set a macro), you can do it right from the app. The included items to map to the buttons is limited, but it's nice to have options. -- Bottom Line -- I LOVE this keyboard. It's quiet (for a desktop keyboard) and comfortable, which is great for when you need to spend all day/night working in your preferred IDE or MS Office. My only real complaints are that the keyboard angle isn't adjustable and Logitech does offer a palm rest for the MX Keys, you have to buy it seperately from their website.

Outstanding design and performance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This new Logitech MX Keys keyboard is without a doubt the best wireless keyboard I’ve ever used for professional applications. Compact, attractive, customizable, and with superb key design and action, I love this new unit so much that I’ve already bought an additional one for my home office. Pros: - Keys feature superb design, shape, and spacing to make typing almost immediately comfortable. - Key action is among the best I’ve experienced for professional use (extensive typing and use of hotkeys, etc.). - Easy switching between multiple devices (including Bluetooth devices such as tablets). - Software customizable settings for function keys. - Easily lock function keys for use in Excel, etc. - Dedicated keys for both Windows and Mac. - Intelligent backlight adjusts to ambient conditions and has a proximity sensor to turn on as your hands approach the keyboard (and turn off again when you pull away). - Superb construction with a metal plate chassis to keep things stable. - USB C charging and built-in rechargeable battery is good for up to 5 months if the backlight isn’t used. Cons: - That same great battery may last as little as 10 days of solid use if the backlight is used extensively. - No dedicated keys for volume and media mean that you’ll need to use the Fn button to access these functions if you lock the function keys for use in software like Excel. - No built-in mechanism to adjust tilt. - Wrist support sold separately (or bring your own). While any keyboard layout makes some tradeoffs in terms of key layout, spacing vs. size, and utilization of special function keys, this new MX Keys keyboard balances these things better than any other unit I’ve used throughout over 35 years of computer usage. In practice, the keyboard is an absolute pleasure to use and within just a day of using it I was able to achieve greater speed and accuracy with less fatigue. Time will tell how it holds up to extensive use, but given the quality of the construction I expect a long service life. It’s also worth noting that Logitech has provided very flexible connection options. In addition to working with the Logitech Unifying wireless receivers, one of which is included in the box, the keyboard will also work with Bluetooth. I’ve tested both modes and both work seamlessly. There are three dedicated keys to allow you to switch connections on the fly. This allows you to have the keyboard in front of multiple devices and easily toggle between them. This unit is clearly targeted toward office, design, coding, and other professional uses. That said, while it lacks the customization features that hard core gamers might crave, I’d suggest that almost any other type of computer user would enjoy and benefit from the MX Keys and would recommend it without hesitation.

A great keyboard that I CANNOT recommend.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Keyboard has a tendency to disconnect randomly while using the USB wireless adapter. This can be very frustrating especially while gaming. I have attempted to uninstall/reinstall keyboard and made sure it has the latest firmware. It does this everyday randomly. The keyboard itself is very well built and solid, unfortunately this issue makes it almost unusable.

Great Customizable Keyboard
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a review of the logitech MX KEYS Advanced Wireless Illuminated Keyboard. First thing I will say is the packaging is great. Unboxing this keyboard is a nice experience, the materials used protect the keyboard very well. I feel like it should cost a lot more with this level of packaging. Moving on, the weight of this keyboard is great. When you pick it up is has a nice heft to it. The keyboard doesn't move around on a slick surface and it grips to the table or surface it is placed on. I like that a lot. When the keyboard is turned on , you are greeted by a nice glow from under the keys. Next thing is to download the free software that operates all the extra goodies. Once you have the software open you can see how customizable this keyboard really is. With the push of a button the keyboard can be used across multiple pc's or laptops at the same time. Also, you can customize keys per app. Logitech has the most common apps preloaded with custom key features. However, you can change them to whatever you would like. Also, you can import any app you use frequently into the program, then customize the keys for that app. Every time you open the app the keyboard changes to your presets. The keyboard is battery powered, of course, and I have yet to reach the end of my first charge. Logitech claims 10 days of typing on a single charge and up to 5 months if the backlighting is turned off! The keyboard comes with a plug for charging it with your usb port. I think charging it overnight would give you 2 weeks of typing no problem. The backlighting on the logitech keyboard is great. The colors are nice, and it turns on whenever your hand comes near the keys. This feature can be turned off, but who would want to? Typing on this keyboard for me is excellent! I am not a pro typist so my observation may be different than yours. With that said, the keys are called perfect stroke. They are dish shaped to match the shape of your fingers. Personally I like the way they feel, not to long a stroke with just the right amount of feedback. This is a full sized keyboard with a few extra keys added in for special purposes. Such as a volume key after F12 and 3 keys for switching between 3 different computers. This does not change the overall size, it's still the same as any other full size keyboard. For me the functionality of this keyboard is what sets it apart from lesser keyboards. If you need a better keyboard and wireless capability, then you should check out logitechs new MX KEYS. I dont think you will be disappointed.

Almost perfect
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Logitech is stepping up its game with the new MX Keys Advanced Wireless Illuminated Keyboard. For the most part I absolutely love this keyboard. I’ve taken it to work and have been using it for a couple of days and there is a lot to love. It is thin! It has a slight rake to the front making typing very comfortable. I didn’t miss it not having a palm rest. Full size! It has 109 keys which include a full numeric keypad. It is cordless! Using either the Logitech Unified Receiver or Bluetooth you can connect wirelessly with extreme ease. It does come with a USB A to USB C cord for charging the rechargeable batteries from a USB A port. It supports multiple devices! You can connect up to 3 devices to the keyboard and switch between them effortlessly with the 3 device keys at the top of the keyboard. Think of it as a wireless KVM. It is heavy! I know its cordless so it has a decent size battery but I actually love the weight because it stays put on your desk. Long battery life! With backlighting you get about 10 days of life on a full charge or up to 5 months by turning off the backlighting. It is illuminated! I don’t know how I survived without backlit keyboards. They are extremely handy in low light conditions. You can toggle the backlighting off to save battery life. I’m not sure how they did it but the backlighting is intelligent. Brightness adjust with ambient light and when you place your hands on the keyboard otherwise it goes stealth. What I didn’t like so much: Key switches are not as crisp as I like. To me they are a bit mushy but I can still type well with this keyboard. Odd function keys layout • At times I found myself accidentally locking my system as the system lock key is right above the numeric keypad. One wrong move and I found myself logging back in again. • I’d prefer to have some of the special keys as toggles. For instance for each press of the calculator key you get a Windows calculator popping up. Multiple key presses equals multiple calculators. I would prefer that the key would open and close the calculator. • I would have loved the media keys to be on their own. Unfortunately up volume is stand alone button by down volume or mute you need to press the fn key in tandem. Frustrating as I’m used to having dedicated media keys. I rely heavily on the mute key while at work. All in all this is a great keyboard for the office or home but I wouldn't use it for gaming.
