    Key broke - Bad Service

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The keyboard is pretty ineffective when the "A" key is missing. I went through the hoops with logitech customer service to learn that they do not have replacements for defective keys, not even that i can purchase! Terrible customer service for such an expensive keyboard. do not purchase, as the customer service does not justify the cost.

Dont buy until blinking issue is fixed!

Ive had this keyboard for almost a year now and all it does is blink on/off constantly. I have to keep the light off because the blinking drains the battery. I have it on keyboard tray under glass desk so there's very little chance of dirt/debris setting off the sensor. Even if i remove and place it on top of my desk it blinks. Dont even know where the sensor is to try wipe it down. Even joined forum on Logitech website about issue and so far over 5000 people complaining about same issue!

Poor quality compared to previous K740 Illuminated

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I own the Logitech K740 Illuminated which was their original keyboard with the scissor-switch style "PerfectStroke" keys. The keys on that keyboard have very nice actuation and has a quality heft to the item. This MX Keys on the other hand, have too shallow actuation and doesn't feel like they are scissor-switch style keys at all. It's shallow and mushy-like an Apple keyboard, and even shallower than some laptops. I did not find enjoyment typing on this keyboard. The build quality also left a lot desired for it's price. It's totally plastic. The backlight has issues. There is no way to keep it on constantly, nor to adjust the timeout. It times-out in about 5-10 seconds. This is a problem in a dark environment and an annoyance. The backlight also doesn't save it's settings when the computer goes to sleep. You have to always adjust the setting when computer wakes up. Compare this keyboard to the cheapest in Best Buy and you will see it has mushy keys like the other cheaper models. Logitech quality is not what it used to be years ago. I would not recommend without first trying in the store. I will instead buy an extra K740 or a better mechanical keyboard.

Hello, I am sorry to hear you are not satisfied with the keys. I can help with the lighting issue though. I am not sure if you have already done so, but if you download the Logitech Options Software( logitech.com/options) this will allow you to adjust the light settings on the keyboard. I hope this helps the situation! Thank you for taking the time to write this review, we appreciate the feedback.

Good keyboard but having issues with the assignments you have 3 connections I have 3 setups Mac Mini and 2 laptops switching between them is a pain sometimes I have to toggle the on off switch to type my passcode in on any of the 3 connections in order for it to register as I had depressed the numbers associated with either laptops or mac mini 1 2 or 3

    Terrible, DONT BUY

Bought this keyboard, I was very excited as the quality felt great. It started givvvvving (yes the multiple stroke is a keyboard issue) problems the same day. It wont sync to my mac, it always has lag with my windows 10 surface and logitech support is terrible. I returned it and tried a second one, and the same problem. This is a terrible keyboard and I suggest to stay away from this product. I am returning it again and now for good.

    Several dealbreakers

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Here's what were dealbreakers for me: - there's a lag in the hand sensor before the backlight comes on. Annoying. The K800 doesn't have this lag. - The programming of the function keys is all or nothing. You can't reprogram one key only. Example: the F5 function key reprogramming picklist choices (in the Logitech Options software) doesn't have a choice for "Refresh," which IS WHAT THE F5 KEY does in a browser window. So your only choice is to check the checkbox that says, "Use function keys as standard function keys," in which case you can't reprogram ANY of the function keys. It's all or nothing. - when my hand is stationary on the keyboard (e.g., when I'm reading an article on the web) the backlight times out after 20-30 seconds. Then I have to wave my hand to get it back on. This is bad. If your hand is on the keyboard the backlight should stay on.

I wanted to love this keyboard - but I can't.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I wanted to love this keyboard - but I can't. It has three selectors for paired blutooth devices. It seems great, except when you set them all up, it occasionally has a great deal of trouble re-pairing with saved devices. It seems to be solved by buying additional logitech receivers and pairing with them - but really?? This is the first blutooth device I've owned that doesn't reliably connect. The second - the keys are rather fragile. I've had this keyboard less than a year ad three keys are messed up. I can feel that the mechanism below is a bit messed up ad I have to press them much harder to get them to work. So. For a blutooth keyboard, it doesn't work well as either a blutooth device or a keyboard. Very disappointed, Logitech.

So excited to get this keyboard. It worked great for about a week. Then started to go wonky. Disconnected. Key delay. Tried EVERYTHING. Made sure fully powered, tried numerous times to re-establish connectivity. Went into various settings and made adjustments etc. Would work a bit and conk out. How frustrating. Logitec ought to do a better job QA/QCing products. My other Logitec K780 wireless keyboard was fantastic (except a key kept going out, they replaced it and then same key failed again!). So DO NOT BUY THE MK Key! You will be very frustrated.

Backlighting is horrible, need USB for battery.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

"Only" three issues. For over $120 I expect more. Much more. Backlighting is a complete engineering failure. Could have been partially alleviated if Settings allowed you to turn off the option, instead, every couple minutes the backlighting turns off and you can't read any of the keys because they were somehow inexplicably imprinted as black on the keyboard. So you have to fumble for the Shift key to turn on the backlighting before you can type! Packaging has nice bright keys but that's not what you get inside, so very misleading. Also ergonomically contrary to other keyboards being manufactured. And finally, you need to waste another USB port to keep board plugged into in order to keep charging the internal battery. So kind of defeats the purpose of being wireless! Worst engineered keyboard I have had since I started programming in technology 35 years ago.

Hello, I am so sorry to hear about the issues you are having regarding the MX keys. Lets try to solve some of these for you! You can adjust and even turn off the lighting completely with the FN keys. This will be located on F6 and F7. Also, if you just hover your hands over the keyboard, it has a hand proximity sensor and will turn on the backlighting before you even begin to type. Lastly, for the USB problem, You can use it without the dongle just plugged in with the charging cable. It also has Bluetooth capabilities if you do not want to use the USB dongle. The charging cable can also be plugged into a brick and then into a power outlet. I hope all of this helps! Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We appreciate the feedback. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Connection issues- going back to an Apple keyboard

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

A worthless waste of time and will be going back to Best Buy in the AM. What a mistake I made taking a chance on Logitech after years of using Mac keyboards! It wouldn't connect to my older mac (which works fine with Apple's bluetooth keyboard), and as absolutely no documentation is included with it, I was forced to go to Logitech's website (on another device as this computer wouldn't work without a keyboard). Still couldn't figure it out as the website provides no information on connection set it issues either or what software (if any) I am supposed to download to connect, as is suggested by the slip of paper documentation included in the box. For the record, even connecting it by the provided USB cable to my computer won't connect it either, as it will for Apple's bluetooth keyboards. Of course, maybe I'm doing something wrong, I'm sure I am, but I am at a loss as to what that would be and the website is no help at all. I'm going back to Apple, it just works out of the box, flawlessly, like it's supposed to.

    Just stupid

Worst keyboard I have ever used. I am a software programmer and keyboard layout is very important for me. first, there is another button (Volume )on the right next to F12 key....why??? F keys row is too close to the bottom part and I think F keys should be grouped by 4 keys and separated. Next, above minus sign on number pad, there is lock key... again why? and last thing, All keys spacing is too small, Never buy logitech keyboard
