I was already impressed by the previous similar model, which was not even focused on Adobe apps, but the Logitech MX Master 4 Adobe Edition is even more impressive. If you juggle with multiple devices like me and especially if you spend lot of time in creative apps like Adobe Premiere, it’s totally worth it. It is comfortable and has an ergonomic shape that fits my hand perfectly. Editing with it is really nice. The buttons are noticeably quieter than most mice and the clicks are noticeably lower than the MX Master 3. Nobody will notice any clicks. Super quiet. There are many things that set this mouse apart but nothing like the haptic feedback, especially in Adobe Premiere, when you get a tactile feel as you move through the icons. It’s almost like they had people with poor vision in mind, but it’s a satisfying sensation for some reason. Because of a feature that works with Premiere, it keeps you from fumbling through endless cascading menus, allowing you to get to want you want in a couple of clicks instead of endless digging through menus. I regularly work with two computers, one for content creation, the other for regular work—and being able to use the MX Master 4 across both at the same time is super useful. If you ever used Mouse Without Borders, you will be familiar on how it works. You can drag the cursor (and even files) from one screen to the other as if it’s all one big workspace. In addition, you can connect it to up to three devices (laptop, iPad, and smart phone, for instance). Switching between them is very simple. I have been customizing it with other apps other than Adobe’s and they work well although I didn’t see much difference for those compared to MX Master 3, maybe because it is more focused on Adobe. Practically every button can be reassigned to a shortcut or function. However, this is not good for gaming at all. It’s clearly designed for productivity. It comes with a tiny receiver. However, I had some difficulty pairing with my computer. I don’t know if it was an issue with my computer or with the software. Oddly, it doesn’t come with any cable to charge. It is hard to identify which feature I didn’t like, but what I really loved was the tactile feedback. It does suffer from some performance issue which makes it unsuitable for a few applications, especially gaming, but other than that, it is highly recommended.

Great mouse except for the button where your right thumb sits. It is impossible not to press it and have a menu come up for you. Very frustrating and time consuming. Other than that button I did not see many differences between the MX Master 4 and the MX Master 2 which I went back to using

The Logitech - MX Master 4 - Adobe Edition - Laser Ergonomic Mouse with Advanced Performance Haptic Feedback – Wireless is the successor for the MX3 from Logitech. Usually, I opt for a standard mouse that performs well, however I now create a lot of digital content and need a mouse that has multiple programable button, the MX4 certainly fills that need. The mouse is rather large, but the basic mouse components are there, if you have smaller hands, it may take a bit to get used to. However, with my mitts it actually fits pretty well. First thing you have to do is lose the muscle memory you have for a standard mouse, and that may take a while. At first I thought you could control and configure the mouse with the G HUB software I already have on my system from the Logitech gaming mouse and keyboard I already use, so was a bit frustrated when the MX mouse was magically recognized via a Bluetooth on my laptop, but not by G HUB. Again, though it was not recognized by G HUB, after looking into this further (and needing to assign custom functions to some of the buttons), I discovered the Logi+ Options software was required for that. Once I installed that software the Action Ring appeared on my screen, while this seems like a useful tool, I have not yet dived into the functionality, however it seems interesting. Now lets talk hardware, again the mouse is a bit odd for those used to a standard mouse, it seems like a frankenmouse, somewhere between a trackball and a standard mouse. I’m sure I’ll get used to it as a dive into more functionality. The mouse has a total of eight buttons and a scroll wheel, has a 650 mAh lithium rechargeble battery (via USB-C) which is rated to last 70 days (although I think a better rating would be hours of use). It also benefits from a quick charge mode that will give you a few hours of life with a few minute charge. The device comes with a 2.4ghz USB-C dongle if you want to utilize a low latency, further range option for connectivity. Otherwise, you can use the Bluetooth Low Energy (5.1) option to connect the mouse to your computer (this is the option I used, as I really do not like dongles or receivers that take up valuable ports when you can just use integrated Bluetooth. One of the highly touted features is the thumb button with haptic feedback, I am a little mixed about this feature and it may come in handy for games, we will see if I like it otherwise. Due to the position of the thumb button and its size, a custom keyboard shortcut in the Logi Options+ software in my Davinci Resolve Studio profile video editing software for quick cuts Crtl-B (Razer) in my timeline. I also assigned the Shift-Backspace (Ripple Delete) to one of the side buttons below the Horizontal scroll wheel. Speaking of the Horizontal scroll wheel, this provides a huge improvement timeline scrubbing in Davinci Resolve. So, there is a lot to work with in the MX4, I think I have only scratched the surface on how this mouse will improve my workflows in some specific applications. I appreciate that the mouse is partially made of sustainable materials including recycled plastics and cobalt in the battery. And a big plus for me, since they DO NOT use a grippy rubberized surface on this mouse (except for the thumb button) it does not gross me out, as rubberized surfaces are hard to clean and get lint on them if you clean them with a paper towel. In any case I think this is another homerun for Logitech and those that need highly configurable input devices. This is arguably the best mouse on the market but it turns out it needs special software for basic buttons to work (i.e. the back button). Today it turns out that a server bug on Logitech's side broke that software and thus broke all the buttons. If you make a mouse that needs to phone home for basic buttons to work, you don't deserve any stars. Unfortunately Best Buy doesn't let me give that as an option so 1-star it is.

The Logitech MX Master 4 Laser Ergonomic Mouse with Advanced Performance Haptic Feedback is an incredible, high-quality mouse that I now cannot live without. My job requires me to work on a computer for the majority of my day which means having a reliable yet comfortable and ergonomic mouse is a must. I was previously using the Logitech MX Master 3 for the majority of my work and I really liked that mouse a lot but now that I split my time between the office and working from my home office, I needed a similar second mouse so I wouldn’t have to transport my Master 3 back and forth and that’s when I came across this new Logitech MX Master 4. Given how much I love my MX Master 3, I had no doubt that I would be just as impressed with this MX Master 4 and that has certainly been the case. It has a very familiar feel to it but with a few upgrades that have improved my productivity even further. One of the unique features that really stands out on this MX Master 4 mouse is the haptic sense panel. The haptic feedback can be customized in the Logi Options+ app along with various other features of the mouse. I also really like the feel of the clicks which are surprisingly quiet and I don’t think any mouse will ever be able to top the feel and performance of the MagSpeed scroll wheel. Overall, I am very impressed with the Logitech MX Master 4 Laser Ergonomic Mouse with Advanced Performance Haptic Feedback and I highly recommend it!

I don't make the claim in the title for this review lightly. This really is by far the best mouse I've ever used. The Logitech MX Master 4 is really a thing of perfection. To begin, the build quality is great. It's not to heavy or to light. The materials used feel solid. The dials and buttons have a great feel to them and click/turn nice. The design is what I like the most. It fits my hand like a natural extension. It has the perfect raised arch and the controls all fall naturally under my fingers. The scroll wheel has just the right amount of light ridges as you scroll. Also, the placement of the button just behind the wheel to de-click the wheel is brilliant. The buttons and the side wheel fall just in the right place as well. The arch of the mouse is just right for my hand. That may be a personal thing, but I think most will like how it feels in the hand as well. The battery life is excellent. I fully charged it right away and after a week I am still at 95%. That's with leaving it turned on 24/7. The Logi Options+ feature is more useful than I first anticipated. One click on the mouse opens a circle on the screen that can be customized for quick access to often used programs. I find this feature to be very useful with my various photo editing programs. I can't think of any users (other than gamers) that I wouldn't recommend the MX Master 4 to. It's that perfect.

Great mouse! I also have the prior MX Master 3S version which is very similar, and find it super comfortable in my hand. Slight differences in geometry now with this MX Master 4 in that the body area under my palm is no longer rubbery, but not bad. The thumb area is still rubber coated for a nice grip. The extra available buttons in that area are a plus as well. Smooth and responsive on my Mac Mini, MacBook Air and Windows laptop, and I love the option for multiple devices (up to 3) via bluetooth. Simply flip it over and tap the button. Super convenient since I have multiple computers connected to the same monitor and keyboard setup as well. The side thumb roller wheel is great for panning large Excel files or CAD drawings. Top roller wheel smooth as well. Great battery life, and easy to connect to a charge cord and still use like an "old-time" wired mouse. Definitely recommend this next gen MX Master 4!

This is definitely a do it all accessory as far as a mouse goes. Ill get the two biggest drawbacks out of the way. It is a bit bulky for my liking but it is a soild accessory. This is also not friendly at all for left handed users. I like the haptic feedback feature and it is comfortable in the hand. The texture of the mouse feels comfortable and releives overall pressure on your hand and wrist. Set up was literally plug and play. It synched up to my laptop and I was up and running in under 30 seconds. It is plug in recharable via a c cable and has extremely good battery life. The buttons are all very responsive and is quiet when it comes to "clicks". The silicone has a great feel and not the overall all plastic feel on other same style devices. The action ring or wheel is also very responsive. You can program it to best serve you for various tasks you routinely execute. This is a good product for advanced users who may do work in development or video editing. Other than that the overlook of left handers, this is a very adaptable mouse.

The newest version of the Logitech MX Master mouse is a big change from the previous versions in several ways. The first thing that I noticed was the shape. The new MX is much more angular, almost reminds me of a certain electric truck that has been so popular the last few years. With a high center and fairly flat surfaces, the mouse looks like it would not be very comfortable to use. Quite the opposite, I found the mouse to be very comfortable and felt used to it within a matter of minutes. Though the shape does cause my hand to fall fairly high on the buttons, they work so flawlessly that I didn't even realize where my fingers were sitting until I looked at it. The biggest change that caught my attention from the moment I turned it on was the haptic feedback on the thumb pad. I have used about every version of MX Master Logitech has produced and have been using all of their mice since the early 90's when I would stop by the factory store and grab deals every time we visited the Bay Area! The haptic feedback seemed like it was a gimmick at first, but I have begun to use it a bit more and find it a useful addition to the mouse. I'm sure that as I play with custom mappings, I will get even more use out of it but even the defaults are pretty good. Since I also use a Logitech Spotlight while teaching, it is nice to be able to jump right to the Options + app without having to go through the Start menu and fiddling with a bunch of mouse clicks. It did take a few hours of use before I stopped accidently clicking the haptic pad with my thumb - I didn't realize how much I rest it on that area! I should have known since that is one of the worn areas that are now smooth on almost all of my mice that have that area. The scroll wheel is another area that changed. I didn't think I would like the loss of the free-scrolling wheel on my MX Master 2S that I have used so long, but the graduated scroll of the new mouse is actually quite easy to use and I have become used to it without realizing it. I actually prefer the new feature - being able to click down one line at a time is very practical and then giving it a slight flick with my finger turns it into a free-scrolling wheel like I am used to. So far, after a week of using it, the battery is really holding up well, so I am impressed with that also. I have come to expect a bit form Logitech and though I have been let down a time or two over the years, this is definitely a good evolution of this line of mice. I'm glad I was able to get this mouse and it is proving to be another workhorse for my desk, allowing me to get things done without being in the way. Overall, I think Logitech has done it again... they have managed to change a very stable product with just enough innovation to keep the good qualities of the previous version while adding genuinely useful features that I didn't expect to be so helpful. Now I'm wondering why it took so long to come up with these features I didn't realize I would use! I would have no problem recommending this mouse to anyone looking for a good, all-around mouse for games and work. It is just hefty enough to feel stable but light enough to move easily when making fast movements. I run two large monitors and have a TV screen on for presenting my lessons, so there is a lot of real estate to cover when I move back and forth and this mouse does it very comfortably. I work on my computer all day and most of the applications I use are very mouse centric. I need a larger sized mouse with plenty of customizable buttons to make my job easier and prefer a scroll wheel that clicks. I’ve been using Logitech products since they came out in the 1980’s and have rarely been disappointed, so they are my go-to brand. My latest has been a Logitech MX Master 2S that I’ve used for year or so now. It’s been my favorite mouse so far, even though there are a few things I don’t like about it. When I saw the new MX Master 4, I thought I’d give it a try to see if my complaints had been addressed. The first thing I noticed about the MX 4 is that it looks almost exactly like the MX 2S. The two have an almost identical silhouette, but just “almost” – there are differences and they are important. First of all, the left button on the MX 4 protrudes further than on the MX 2S. Also, the left edge, where the horizontal control is located, is shorter on the MX 4. That edge on the MS 2S extends further to the rear of the mouse. These two small differences make the MX 4 much more comfortable in my hand. Another minor difference is in the placement of the vertical scroll wheel. The one the MX 4 is located slightly left of the one on the MX 2S and it’s also canted to the left ever so slightly. This is actually the only thing I like better about the Mx 2S over the MX 4. Maybe it’s because I am so familiar with the 2S, but it just feels like it’s “off” on the MX 4. This is not enough to detract from the other great features of the MX 4, but it is something I do notice. Otherwise, the vertical scroll wheel works identically on both. Like the MX 2S the MX 4 has a button to select smooth or “click” scrolling, and on both, if you “flick” the wheel, it will freewheel and “hyper scroll” to quickly move up or down a long page. I will say that the MX 4’s hyper scroll function seems to be faster. As for other differences, the MX 4’s horizontal scroll wheel is in a much better position and is larger, making it easier to use. The thumb buttons for forward/back control are also in a better position and easier to use. The added “Task View” button that sits in front of those is another great feature. The thumb rest button is also easier to use. One of my big complaints about the MX 2S was that this button was difficult to activate. I had to press it in just the right place to use it, so it was not something I could quickly activate. The MX 4’s thumb rest button is much easier to use as it responds to clicks over most of the entire surface of the pad. One final major difference is the palm rest surface. On the MX 2S it’s a “soft touch” coating, while on the MX 4 it’s just a satin finished plastic. That soft touch coating looks and feels luxurious, but over time it gets dirty and gooey. Storing the mouse in a hot place can accelerate this deterioration. I much prefer the simple plastic housing on the MX 4 for longevity. Both of these mice are rechargeable via a USB cord, but the MX 4 has a modern USB-C port, where the 2S uses the older micro-USB port. The battery lasts for weeks with almost constant work-day use. The MX 4 comes with a Logi Unifying Receiver and this one is a small USB-C sized adapter. In fact, it’s so small, you can plug it into the mouse’s front USB charging port for storage and you’ll never know it’s there. Of course this new style receiver means that If you have an older computer that lacks USB-C ports, you’ll need an adapter. The good news is that just like the MX 2S, the MX 4 can connect to up to three different devices, using any combination of Bluetooth or Logi receivers. A button on the bottom selects which device you’ve paired to and can also be used to activate pairing mode. This is trademark Logi functionality, and it works very well. Overall, I am extremely happy with the MX 4. It solves my two biggest complaints about the MX 2S, which are the side thumb buttons, small vertical scroll wheel, and soft-touch coating. The slightly reposition vertical scroll wheel is not really an issue, and I’ve pretty much become accustomed to it. Overall, this is a great mouse. I know some people may be hesitant to spend $100 or more on a mouse, but when it’s the tool you use all day, it’s definitely worthwhile to get one that is well-made and works well. This one absolutely works well for me and I am glad that I upgraded to the MX 4.

At first glance the MX Master 4 looks barley different from the Master 3 but the first time I laid my hand on it, it felt familiar yet different. Logitech didn’t reinvent the mouse wheel, but they did sand down some rough edges. The most immediately noticeable change is the removal of the soft touch surfaces which ALWAYS gets kinda gross over the course of a few years. The switch from the soft touch material to textured plastic on the outer shell is a welcome move. The silicone rubber pad where my thumb, ring and pinky make contact with are said to be more resistant to the deterioration from handling, but I will remain skeptical on that and will have to wait and see if I am happy about it. The only concern with the new textured plastic is when that plastic shine will start to develop. The 8000 DPI sensor is said to remain the same as the predecessor and still tracks smooth on all the surfaces I use it on. The 3 gave me no problems on that front. The other notable changes to the Master 4 is the addition of haptic feedback via the new Action Ring and Haptic Sense Panel, which adds a tactile layer to gestures and scrolling. It’s subtle, but it makes the mouse feel more responsive and modern expanding functionality without having to take your hand off your mouse more frequently. Battery life is said to be improved, but I had no issue with the predecessor so if it gives me the same performance I can have no complaints on that front. All that being said, the Master 4 is still not perfect. The 4 is like everything else these days, is more expensive. The haptics don't have much of a use for me and can be somewhat distracting. Aside from those my biggest gripe (for ALL logitech products) is the Options+ software. This mouse and many other peripherals have the ability to switch to 3 separate devices on the fly, however, all of those devices need to have Options+ in order to have the full functionality of these devices. On board storage would have allowed me to only need to install Options+ on 1 device and use the same settings where ever I use the Master 4. The only other oddity I noticed was the placement of my thumb. I inadvertently hit the Action Ring Thumb button far more than the gesture thumb button on the Master 3. I switched the functionality via the Options+ but need to to do that on all the software from PC to PC. My simple conclusion to the MX Master 4 is, if you don't have a MX Master already and you need a productivity mouse or if your existing MX Master is on it's last leg, GET IT. If you have a Master 3 or 3s in good shape, you can likely pass on this iteration.

I’ll admit it upfront: I’m a Logitech fan, especially their higher-end keyboard and mice. In fact, I own the predecessor to this mouse, the MX Master 3S. And just like the 3S, I feel that the MX Master 4 is amazing! I recently started back to school, and my hand and wrist were suffering from using smaller laptop mice. I needed something larger that allowed my hand to stretch out a bit and something that would support my wrist. This is the primary reason I opted for another MX Master mouse: Ergonomics. The mouse half a pleasantly neutral hand position: Not too flat and not upright. It works well for me and really prevents the hand and wrist pain I was getting from my smaller mouse. In addition, the mouse has a dedicated area for the thumb, which helps with comfort too…and well as some additional functionality. There are a ton of buttons on this mouse, some I use A LOT and others maybe not too often. Thankfully, Logitech’s Logi Options+ software is great: It lets you customize each mouse button and scroll wheel for general use AND on a per-app basis. Even the scroll wheel tension is adjustable! The software also allows you to program macros into the buttons, too, if you use macros frequently. I love having the two scroll wheels, one for up/down and one for right/left. I use a lot of split-screen views, and that often means I need to scroll left and right pretty regularly. The software really perfects a top-notch piece of hardware. Speaking of hardware, there are a few small differences between the MX Master 3S and the 4. The first is the 4 having a bit more soft-touch rubbery feel where your hand lies. This is a nice touch as long as the rubbery stuff lasts. The other major difference is a more pronounced thumb button towards the bottom of the mouse. I don’t find pressing this button to be a ‘natural movement’, so I don’t use it that often, but for others this may represent a welcome change. Otherwise, the sensors are basically the same and both mice work perfectly in their intended functions. I know a lot of people might balk at a $100 non-gaming mouse, and I totally get that. But for me, the much-improved hand comfort along with the Logi Options+ software proved beneficial enough to warrant the cost. If you can stomach spending this much for a mouse, then I HIGHLY recommend the MX Master 4.

First impression: This is a heavy mouse! For background info, I use gaming mice for work and play. They're light, have a lot of buttons, and extremely customizable. The MX Master 4 seemed like something I needed to give a shot since I love buttons - my favorite mouse was discontinued (G604) with no suitable replacement so I went back to a G502. Upon first use I kept hitting the spot where the top side buttons would be on both the G604 and G502. I used those two bottons all the time, so muscle memory has me hitting that spot and it ends up being just a left click. I need those buttons, lol. Second heavily used botton is the side scroll. I map those to other function and they get tons of use also. No side scroll on the main wheel, but there's a dedicated scroll wheel on the side. Not as easy to hit as a side scroll, which only needed a light side finger bump without having to change your grip. Also, the spacing of the buttons are too far apart and also need grip adjustment to push. Big thing, the weight. I use glass skates on my mouse so a hard breeze will blow it across the mouse pad. The Master 4 comes with the standard mouse feet and it feels like I'm dragging the mouse through molasses. Most people won't have an issue with this, I'm the weird one for liking almost no friction when mousing so this is just something to point out to people who are like me. I do have some ceramic mouse skate dots that I haven't installed yet, but I'm waiting for a third party fitted skates either glass or ceramic. I really can't do the rubber, plastic, or whatever the material is. Haptic feedback seems like a battery drain more than a feature I'd use. So it's off. I do like the big thumb button. While I don't see a real use for it yet, the action ring could get some use once I figure what I'd like to customize each input for. Gamers should be familiar with the ring since a lot of games incorporate them. The Master 4 allows you to use it for any application and even set actions for some apps outside of the one you're focused on. Gestures...not for me either. There used to be a third party app a long time ago that allowed the same function, but it just seemed slower or no more inconvenient than dragging and clicking because of the size of the gestures you need to make for input. That program allowed for custom gestures though so you could make any shape become a gesture. Mostly it's a good mouse, but I like lightweight mice with top buttons and side click on the scroll wheel. Also keeping all buttons close and easy to tap with just a shift of the fingers instead of having to reposition your fingers to click is a feature I need. This mouse just doesn't do it for me so I'll have to go back to my gaming mouse. The build and shape are terrific, but it needs to go on a diet and take notes from the G502's about button placement.

Pricey but the perfect mouse for me. Best fit for my hand.
