Posted .Hello, I am so sorry to hear the issues you are experiencing. If you have multiple audio devices plugged into your computer at one time, you will have to choose which audio input/output you want it to use. You will not be able to use the headset and the speakers at the same time. I hope this clears things up! Thank you for taking the time to write this review, we appreciate the feedback.

A budget-friendly and robust speaker system
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bottom Line: The Logitech Z407 computer speakers impress both in terms of sound quality and functionality especially at its price point. Pros: Multiple connectivity options, good sound quality, wireless dial is fun to use, price Cons: design, possible interference issues Review: Out of the box, the speakers were easy to set up. The wireless control knob is automatically paired with the system, and connecting my computer via Bluetooth was simple and straightforward (the connection is stable, so you don’t have to worry about having to reconnect all of the time). You can also connect two other devices using the micro-USB and 3.5mm aux ports. Buttons on the bottom of the control knob allow you to switch between inputs, and the active input is indicated by a colored LED on the knob. The system delivers good sound quality, with strengths in the lower end of the audio spectrum giving music a warm and full sound. Bass performance is very good, and I only noticed distortion turning the bass boost to max. Audiophiles will notice some compromises in the midrange and higher frequencies, but, once again, the speakers perform well at the price point, and I think most users will be satisfied with the sound quality of the system. One of the standout features is the wireless control knob which really increases the versatility of this system. Although marketed primarily as a computer speaker system, the additional inputs would also allow it to be used a a mini-home theatre system and controlled from the couch. The controller works well, with satisfying tactile feedback for adjusting the volume and useful click gestures for controlling audio. Sound performance was well-balanced for movies, with clear dialogue amid sound effects, with the latter often coming off as overwhelming in action films. Although this comes down to personal taste, there’s nothing particularly noteworthy about the design of speakers. They are rounded, but they still look and feel big and boxy to me and clash with the modern aesthetic of my thin bordered monitor. Additionally, the down firing subwoofer is exposed and close to the bottom of the box (not a problem once it’s in position), but I did accidentally put my fingers on the cone when I went to move it. The only minor issue I encountered was when I plugged the system into my power strip (along with my monitor, computer, and USB hub), the subwoofer kept cracking/popping during audio playback. A Google search led me to believe this was some kind of electrical interference. I then switch the subwoofer plug to an outlet by itself, and it resolved the problem.

If you still have the speakers, and they're plugged into a power strip, can you try plugging them into the wall directly and see if that fixes the popping?

Wow! Movie experience at my desk
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a pair of Logitech speakers before the Z407s, and I thought they were fine. But upon playing music on these, I was blown away. This speaker system is just awesome. I am beyond impressed with the sound and love the control dial. I have my Mac and gaming PC connected to the system, with my Mac using Bluetooth and PC using USB. Switching between them is very easy by just flipping over the dial. And the light on the dial turns off when not in use (which is a small but appreciated feature). Sound quality is great and clear, and the bass from the sub is nice. The bass can even be adjusted from the dial. The only issue that I seem to have is a slight audio lag when connected to USB on my PC. Its a slight delay, but gets really annoying when playing video games. I will probably switch to the 3.5mm connector and see if that will help. Another thing I noticed was a weird popping noise coming from the sub when playing some YouTube videos. It didn't bother too much, but it does worry me about the longevity of the sub. I'm very happy with the Logitech Z407 system. It's a great price for what you get. Fully recommend it to anyone in the market for a computer speaker system.

Good, some quirks, but price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.for the past couple of years, i've been looking for a pair of decent speakers with a USB DAC that can fit under my monitors since i have a small desk and a big curved ultrawide monitor on a non adjustable stand. I finally found a pair that i like enough to keep. prior to these i've had Bower & Wilkins mm-1's (4x the price), they sound AMAZING but didn't fit under my monitor, couldn't lay them sideways because of the volume and power buttons. Razer leviathan (2x the price), barely fit under my monitor, didn't have a USB Connection and would turn off due to powersaving when it felt like. I went to best buy looking for the razer Nommo's or the creative Katana's but they didn't have them in stock so i "settled" for these. i'm glad i got these, i'm an adult so i'm not looking for RGB to blink like crazy when i'm trying to work from home and both would have been ridiculously big. That being said, these are pretty good. All in all, i'm loving the direction Logitech is going. These are priced well, look good and most importantly it has a USB DAC. I hate the most manufacturers are still making speakers that only have a 3.5mm jack like its 1995. Bluetooth just isn't a viable solution due to latency. Its frustrating when looking for USB speakers, they're either really expensive and high end, or really really cheap low end stuff. Logitech really hit a sweet spot with these Pros: sounds good enough for daily use and gaming, easy to setup, speakers can be laid sideways or upright, wireless remote can be placed anywhere. priced well and Most importantly to me, a USB connection to PC. Cons: remote is finicky, the theres no visual indicator when setting the bass levels. the highs and mids sound weak at times, really noticable when the bass is turned down, no physical buttons (not really a con for me since my speakers are in an awkward place to reach). Conclusion: These are good, some cons, but the pros definitely outweigh them. Fits under the monitor, controls are wireless so no need to reach for them. at it's price range, theres nothing as good.

Great price with decent sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have not had or I should say really used a dedicated “computer’ set since my very old altec lansing speaker set. That was very good quality with quality materials, this is not but still very good given the price point. I love the wireless remote, I love the overall sound volume to fill my 12 by 14 foot carpeted home office, the bass sound is pretty darn good as well. Setup is a breeze, connections are rock solid and the wireless remote works flawlessly with very good range. At the price point, the quality build is very acceptable and if on sale would be an absolute steal.

Wireless puck is a game-changer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't realized this set actually had a wireless puck controller until I got it home and started setting things up. I usually avoid speakers with pucks like this because the controllers make cable management just that much more difficult. These were super easy to set up, the controller is great, and they sound amazing for the price.

Great Sound, Awful user experience.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these off the Logitech website but they don't have a review section so I'm leaving one here. I needed some compact speakers that sounded good and these are definitely the best sounding set of speakers and sub that you can get for this price. To be clear, I have these set up to the monitor outputs on a focusrite 2i2 through a 3.5mm to stereo rca from the sub, and an RCA cable to an RCA to 1/4'' into the focusrite monitor outs. My particular set came with no manual for set up in the box so I had to look online for one since it wasn't really clear how these speakers with no on/off button work. Upon plugging them in, all the alert tones are unnecessarily loud. When I set these up downstairs, everyone upstairs can hear these tones clearly. When you plug them in, a loud tone. Volume at max or min, a loud tone. Setting up Bluetooth, another high pitched and loud tone. These are advertised as computer speakers, I'm most likely going to be sitting right infront of them, the tones don't need to be THAT loud. The wireless volume control is cool but way over-complicated and missing basic features that seem obvious to add but for some reason aren't there. There is no indication of what level the volume is set, and since the wireless volume control piece adjust the volume separately from the computer and not the computer volume itself, it would be nice to know if I'm at 50% or 100% or 0% or whatever. The play/pause control doesn't actually play or pause but it actually just mutes and unmutes the audio at the speaker level, not at the computer. Nothing indicates this control in the manual and for a while I thought the speakers were just not working until I just tried it wondering if that was the issue. There is also no indicator if you're in pause or play mode on the volume dial. There is an LED light but it really just seems to indicate whether you're in bluetooth mode (while light but could've been blue because duh.) or AUX mode which is purple for some reason (which could've been white.) or if your turning the volume dial to remind you what mode you're in (because I really need that...)A flashing light of some sort like 2 quick flashes would be a nice indicator for when the sound is paused/muted. My biggest issue that I cannot figure out and if it becomes a big enough issue I might just end up returning these is that they turn themselves off in the middle of using them mainly while playing a game with quiet audio or low volume ambient sound, and to get them to output audio again I have to press the play and pause button twice or play a video with loud audio. It's happened about 3 times in using them for 2 day. Funny enough it just happened right now while I was writing this section of the review. It would be nice to decide when I turn off the speakers instead of it deciding for me. Nobody likes auto shutoff features when they're added to speakers, the manual has no indication that it has an auto shut off mode to begin with. I'm pretty sure this is the case with this issue I'm having. Yeah I wouldn't recommend these for regular computer use. I do really like the sound for the size of the speakers and they're a heck of a lot better than my computer monitors 1 watt speakers. But I cannot stand this wireless dial, the audio control having 0 indicator of how loud or quiet the volume is or if I'm in play or pause. And worst of all, auto shutting off that wasn't indicated in the advertising or manual. They're just computer speakers guys, make them sound good, and allow me to know if I'm at 0% or 100% volume, that's all people need.

Almost a great budget system
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Alright. Hear me out. The Logitech z407 is a great speaker system for the money, but, there are much better options. While this sound system will satisfy a first-time customer (like myself), use of the system for more than a week will reveal it's many quirks. I returned this system today and exchanged it for the logitech z533, which is about 20 dollars more (I'll write a review on that one once I've had it for a while). Here's why: Poor highs: When I bought this system, I was mainly excited for having a dedicated sub-woofer (or speakers) for the first time, so my initial use of the system was playing a lot of bassy songs. The sound system sounded great to the untrained ear, but, when I logged onto my online classes and started watching recorded lectures the next day, I was confronted with a consistently bassy, distorted tone when playing back human speech. While the mids and lows perform very well for what this system aims to do, this system simply doesn't have the range where it counts. A popping subwoofer: After about 3-4 days of use, I started to hear a recurring popping noise coming from the subwoofer. There was no coorelation as to what the speakers were doing and the frequency of the popping; it was intermittent and highly concerning. The issue can be resolved by unplugging the system from power and plugging it back in, but from what I have read, this issue is recursive and common amongst this product. I have mild concern for the longevity of the product's life. Pros: I gave this system 3 stars because it does have it's charm. Logitech put a lot of thought into adding lots of nifty features that make using this system very pleasing; the wireless controller is relatively nice (though a dedicated bass controller would be nice), the ease of switching back and forth from different devices and inputs, and Bluetooth connectivity in general. I also enjoyed that the speakers fit underneath my monitor when they were put into the horizontal position. The slate gray finish, a common sight amongst logitech products, contributed to the minimalist feel that the system gave. However, a minimalist sound system should be able to do it all. This one simply cannot. I have high hopes for the z533, a similar, more powerful system that costs only 20 dollars more. The highs are phenomenal, the controls are much more thought out, and the system just feels much more premium, more than I was expecting for a relatively small increase in price (I'm disappointed in the lack of Bluetooth in the z533, so if that's a must, the z407 might be the move for you). Thanks for reading this review. I'll be writing one for the 533 in a few days, so stay tuned.

High Quality As You Would Expect From Logitech
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted these speakers to replace the generic set given to me at my office and boy am I glad I did! They are sleek and high quality. Everything you would expect from Logitech. The “puck” used to control music and volume is convenient. With it being wireless, it can be moved anywhere. I also like the fact that the speakers connect to the subwoofer with RCA connections. This makes it easy to add additional length if needed. For sound quality, all I can say is wow! We listen to a lot of interviews in my job. The speakers are crisp and clean making it easy to hear people even when there is an echo present from the room where it was recorded. I also like the ability to change the speaker stand from horizontal to vertical. I can’t really say anything bad about these speakers. I would definitely recommend them to a friend.
