    Great sound, poor battery life

The sound of the Logitech z407 speaker system is phenomenal. However, the battery life for the wireless desktop controller is abysmal. I do love the fact that I can connect my z407 to my Alexa and listen to music through Amazon music. I like the fact that should I have need of it I have a micro USB port to plug another device into, and I love the fact that it is meant for computers and can connect through a 3.5 mm jack. That being said, I do believe that the two AAA batteries that are in the wireless controller should last longer than 3 to 4 weeks before being completely discharged. That is also using the higher quality Energizer batteries. Also a small side note, I do wish that the subwoofer had come with a bass control knob so that I could turn down the bass.

    Somewhat disappointed. Requires eq tweaks

Sound quality muffled. Needed to tweak eq to get it somewhat ok. What they don't tell you, is you have to press the remote for at least 2 seconds to adjust the subwoofer level. Out of the box, it was way too bassy. Still trying to tweak the eq.

Ok but not great. Maybe yours is better?

I normally love logitech items and have bought several different things from them in the past and have loved them all. These speakers started off great. I loved the nice little remote and the look of all the speakers. However, not too long after purchasing the set, my sub started making popping noises. No sound has to be coming out for it to make the popping noise and it's quite annoying. I've done everything I can think of to stop the popping but nothing has worked. Unfortunately, I would return the item and exchange it for something different but lost the receipt and didn't feel like going through the trouble. I also do wish there was a way for me to control the speakers if the remote runs out of batteries and I currently do not have any to replace them. All that being said they do have a good sound.

    Blown away!

Got these today and I absolutely love them! If you’re thinking about getting speakers around this price point, don’t! Get these instead, the subwoofer blew me away. While the high end is not as pronounced as I would like, everything else makes up for it! Definitely recommend these to gamers, audiophiles, and your average consumer!

    Great Speakers

Great speakers? These connected with the computer right away (it seems I have to reconnect when logging in sometimes) and the sound is amazing - movies/TV sound great as does music. The extra piece to control the sound or pause is also handy. Definitely worth the extra money to get some great speakers.

Great wireless desktop speakers and much more

I was highly satisfied with these speakers. There is a lot more bass than I thought but overall great speakers. I wanted a decent pair of wireless speakers for my desktop and for the price, these are so much more. Great speakers.

    Good mid-tier audio option.

The product seems great so far. A few warnings to anyone who buys this: * The unit ships inexplicably with bluetooth enabled, and not the aux input. So if you connect this to your computer with a wired connection, you won't hear any audio initially. You need to use the remote to switch from bluetooth to aux input. * Windows audio controls won't override the audio settings from the remote. In other words, it will not turn up in volume unless you first increase the volume with the remote. I prefer to crank the remote, then use the built-in audio settings to control the volume. The only real disappointment is that there doesn't appear to be a way to configure the amount of bass from the subwoofer. Also not really relevant but I feel like they could have shipped 10 units with the amount of packaging they used for 1. I'm grateful they protect the product during shipping, but...wow.

Great speakers. Love the pause feature on the remote control. Speakers have a clean sound and do not appear so far to be affected by electrical noise like the ones I had.

    Wireless Control Knob ruins experience

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Logitech really dropped the ball on these speakers and it has nothing to do with the audio quality. Sound wise they are fine. What you would expect from mid range Logitech speakers. Nice bass and nice highs. But the complete and utter failure for these speakers... the reason I am taking them back to the store is the control puck. That wireless control puck is a nightmare. You have to wait for it to connect to the speakers... IF it will connect. Then there's a delay between your movement of the knob and the audio changing. It's not 1:1 to how fast you spin the knob to how fast the audio changes. I have had a lot of Logitech speakers for various uses over the years but who ever thought that puck was a good idea should have been fired.

      Hello FeralTerminator,
I am sorry that the Z407 is not meeting your expectations. Feel free to try other Logitech speaker sets such as the G333 that do not have the same wireless feature; you may be better off with a traditional design. I will record your product review and pass it on. Logitech appreciates your product review. - Leo from Logitech

    Nice Entry Level 2.1 Setup

This is a nice entry level set of speakers. For my taste there a little too much treble and not quite enough bass without having to fiddle with equalization, but I'm super picky when it comes to sound. The average user will likely find these more than sufficient though. It works well enough, but I can't honestly say that I'm a fan of the external wireless control hockey puck control module. I'd much rather have all of that functionality built right into one of the speakers. I tend to play/pause and adjust my volume levels at the device level and not centrally. That said I could see how the form factor could appeal to people and even be a reason for picking up a set of these. All in all, for what you get at the $60 price point I would say Logitech did a good job with this set. I am actually giving 2 as Christmas gifts this year. One for my nephew's computer setup and the other is for my in-law's basic 2.1 AV setup in their den since the sound is leaps and bounds better than what comes out of their TV.

no headphones - fails without batteries

There are two problems with this system. You cannot plug in headphones or a mic, and you need batteries, so if they run down, you will not be able to change the volume up or down. They do sounds great, so if the other issues don't bother you, it may not matter.
