Good price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm satisfied except for the night vision which is very snowy. That would be the time when I would want very good reception.

It's okay
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not the greatest camera.. I returned it and waiting to get a better one. It would cut in and out and I was tired of it. Night vision was worthless. Day vision was good for a affordable camera system.

Pretty sweet system!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These security cameras are pretty neat. They record in 720p HD video and are super simple to set up. Literally plug and play. My favorite thing about this system is that I don't have use port forwarding to remotely view these cameras. My only gripe is that you cannot plug the monitor into a larger screen and there is not web portal. All controls and settings are set via the monitor. Great system nonetheless.

Not very impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Living in a rental house, I did not want to go boring holes all over the place, so I decided to try out wireless. This was my second product attempt. The first was the Ring camera, which I should have stayed away from to begin with, but I'll try most things once. After returning the Ring camera, I opted for the Lorex 2 camera wireless system. Let me start with this; if you house has a brick exterior, you WILL have reception issues, no matter how close you position your base station to the camera. Furthermore, you are limited to where you can place your base station monitor if you want to use the mobile viewing feature, as it must be hard wired to your router via a CAT5 cable. Now this is a plus in a way, as it makes it nearly impossible to have your system signal hijacked. Lorex gets a point there. However, my second camera, which I installed on the rear of my house where there is hardi plank seemed to work without exception. I think it's a brick thing, as the masonry board are much thinner. Moving on to the picture quality. In the daylight, the imagery is fantastic. In the dark, it's still pretty good for stationary objects. However, if you have too much ambient light, ie; a neighbor's floodlight nearby, the camera seems to have infrared overload and shows any being walking around as a white-hot silhouette. Good luck picking out identifying characteristics. Isn't that why you have a night vision camera in the first place? I tried messing with the brightness settings, resolution, you name it. Bottom line is that intruding light will inhibit suspect identification. If you have a dark area however, it'll be fine. Next on the list is the overly-sensitive motion detection. At night, it calms down, but during the day, EVERY TIME a car passes between my house and the road(25 feet) with the setting on low, it goes into record mode. This is unacceptable. It's like the security system that cried wolf. So with this happening, I could not use my mobile app to alert me of anything going on in my yard, because it never stops going off. Let's now revisit the hard-wired aspect of the communications port. It sucks! My modem/router is in my living room in the middle of my house. I could have run a long cable from my living room to a more secure area, but we go back to two issues mentioned earlier. I live in a rent house. My landlord doesn't want me putting holes everywhere. This may not be your situation, but even if not, you are still faced with the other issue of transmission problems. If you have bricks on your house, which many people do, you will not be able to place the unit in a location of your choosing. Your house will choose the location that works.....if it works. I'm sure that the signal from the cameras is as strong as the FCC allows, but how about including a repeater to carry the signal? With all of those thoughts out in the open, my next gripe is the camera housing quality an lack of a battery. The camera housings are plastic, not metal like Swann or Samsung hardwired systems. They are not weather-proof. If you don't believe me, check out the fine print in the manual that says you have to install the cameras under an eve. As for the battery issue, that seems to be a common theme for complaints on this site. WHY couldn't Lorex include a 5 volt battery with their monitor? I can't second the claims that other customers can't source one of these batteries, and I'm not going to bother anymore, as I've now returned the system. However, not even the Lorex site has one available!!!!! Really? Lastly, the user interface sucks. I can use it, as it takes some figuring out, but it looks like it was programmed by a high school freshman on their first semester of computer science class. Bottom line: If you have a non-brick house, non-metal house, or non-poly steel house, you stand a chance. If all you need are two cameras, you can get transmission with no issues, it's dark outside your house, you live more than 50ft off the road and the place where your router is located is secure, this system is for you. If not, just put up dummy cameras or a hard-wired system.

Posted .We're sorry to hear you were not satisfied with the system. We always recommend installing cameras in a sheltered location to preserve image quality. You will also need to make sure (with any camera) there is no light source pointing directly at the camera (ie your neighbor's floodlight) as this can drastically affect the image reproduction. Our technical support team is available 6 days a week to assist with any issues you may be experiencing such as the motion detection sensitivity settings and can be reached at 1-877-755-6739.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I went with this system because it was much cheaper than others and I've used Lorex before. Pros: This system is super easy to set up, The night vision works great. Cons: Wish there were more options in the software

lorex a step above the others!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.after years of funlux cameras tons of disconects the software was terrible cameras never worked correctly now comes lorex system which comes with a 7 inch beautiful hd screen with stand and antenna it did take some time to set up and i did have network issues but once everything clicks and all is set up properly JOY!!! no back up battery and a ethrrnet cable MUST be connected to your router and the monitor or you cant view from outside your home (via iphone or android) and the time will always be wrong and no recording if you dont hook up the ethernet cable (look for a green symbol on the monitor (not yellow or red) that will mean ethernet is good to go) plastic housing on the cameras but they do seem strong lite and easy to set up the included ir codes for set up are a blessing the 2 way audio feature is cool and gives added safety the app is clean and simple the recordings are easy to access... good job lorex!!! will buy a 3rd camera!!
