I would definitely not recommend this product for the following reasons: 1.) The NVR (recorder) must be hardwired to a modem/router in order to access the Internet. The NVR itself can only connect via an ethernet cable. It is not a wireless Internet connection. This is an important fact to know beforehand. 2.) The app connects to the NVR via a wireless connection. I would highly encourage you to take a moment and read the reviews for the app. The app is extremely limited in features and capabilities and cannot adjust or modify the actual security system settings. You can only use the app for very limited specific purposes and those purposes don't work consistently and the features are not very good. You can use the app to see a live feed from the cameras, but otherwise you cannot make any changes to the system. 3.) In order to actually make changes to the security system (which you have to do), you must have a monitor or TV connected to the NVR via an HDMI cable. Otherwise, you cannot make any changes to the system. You cannot do any of this through the app - you have to have a monitor/TV. The system settings are quite complicated, convoluted and not very intuitive. There is no manual for the system included with the system. Be prepared to find the actual manual on the Lorex site and download/print it. It's 180+ pages. You must have the manual to begin to understand the system settings. When you spend this much for a security system, the least Lorex could do would be to provide a manual. There are two quick-start guides with the system, but these are useless because you really must make adjustments through the system settings. Also, the link for the manual for the app is broken on the Lorex site. 4.) Make sure you have a monitor/TV, a hardwired Internet connection, modem/router, and the NVR all available closeby each other so they can be connected - but not a bedroom unless you want to hear the constant fan on the NVR. The NVR has a fan that runs continuously. The sound is very similar to the sound of an older model laptop that is running. It is quite noticeable. I had to install the NVR in my garage because, for me, the fan was so disruptive and tiresome to hear. A bedroom would not be a good location for the NVR. 5.) This is one of the most significant and problematic issues: the app can provide notifications that something (e.g. a person/vehicle) has been detected. You can click on the notification, and if it works (which it may or may not) you can see what triggered the event. It will show you a short recording of the event, but here is the serious problem: the video does not contain the entire event and there are no settings which can modify the length of time for the event. For example, I receive a notification that a person has been detected in my yard. I click on the notification (and it might return an error that reads, "Device Error", "Unknown Error", or some other error), but if it opens the recording, I might see: ten seconds of nothing but my yard then two seconds of a person walking on to my yard and the video ends and there is a prompt to replay the video. You cannot see what happens next. In order to see what happens next, you have to go to a different location in the app and view the "timeline", which begins at midnight. So, if the person walks on to my property at 7:09pm, I have to be sure to make a note of it before going to the timeline because I'll have to scroll through to find 7:09pm. I have to line up the really small marker on the timeline or I'll miss it. Then when I have found 7:09pm, I see the person walking on to my property and then the screen goes black, the Lorex logo comes on and it reads, "Loading Playback" which can take 1-3 seconds, then the rest of the video plays and you can finally see what happened next, but not the 1-3 seconds. They are gone and you cannot see that part of the video. Alternatively, I receive a notification and when I view it, it begins with the person walking off my yard and the recording plays for 10-30 seconds of just my yard. Then I have to go back to the timeline and see what happened before the notification. Again, there is no way to adjust the length of time to start/stop the beginning/ending of the recording after/before an event is triggered. The manual suggests this can be altered via an "anti-dither" setting, but it doesn't work. The manual also suggests you can change the default amount of time to begin the recording, but neither of these settings actually change those aspects. 6.) I could go on, but I won't. These are expensive systems and they should work. The fact is that it doesn't work well and has countless issues/problems. I would not recommend this system and had I known the above beforehand, I would not have purchased it.

Very nice camera system. I spent some time trying to decide all the functions I wanted in a video surveillance system and this one did 99% of what I wanted. So far all the cameras work good, except for I do not have one installed yet. The app to access my videos and notifications from motion so far is alot faster then my ring flood cam.

I definitely recommend this surveillance camera. It was super easy to install and the wiring was around 100 feet in length each line. The camera system works easily. If mounting onto a wall, I utilized gorilla glue tape.

Had arlos but got tired of changing batteries. Picked This up. The picture is amazing. The use of the app and the whole set up can be tricky if your not a bit savvy on these things. Arlo was very user friendly. But I think This system no doubt will work out great.

Product is great but poor experience with the staff at monroe Best Buy. The only reason I purchased this item from them is because it was the last one near me. Software and hardware are great. Good job Lorex. Best Buy please train your staff.

Excellent price and install but we wanted to buy the Lorex 6 camera set but the install option was not listed. Why? It was the same camera? It would be disappointing and unfair if this slight was just a typo on Best Buy’s part

So far so good I’ve been having these cameras for 6months and they are amazing!! I like that i could be away from home and still have access to the cameras through my phone and im also able to talk through them!!

Been useing over a year and have not had any issues with this equipment. Works fantastic on the APP. Plenty of otions to set up to your needs. Keeps my property and family safe.

Never used this camera set. I returned it before I took it out of the box. I purchased them because of the great reviews I read online. I used a 10 percent off at purchase and it never applied so I returned product back to Best Buy
