Not a bad movie at all, very interesting and different! Has you wondering what else Lucy is capable of doing next and how far she'll go. Lots of action and holds your interest by not being a total copy cat movie, good Black Friday sale pick up in 4K cannot complain at all, worth a view at least one time!!

    Good idea but fizzles out

This is the second science fiction movie for Scarlett Johansson that we have seen from 2014. The first was "Under the Skin", and now "Lucy". Both have her as the major actor in the movie. Lucy was a good idea at the beginning, but it was not carried out in a consistent manner to the end of the movie. Too much "Exorcist"-like scenes at the end to really be a good movie. This now brings up the question can she actually be the major actor to carry a movie like in the older movie "Match Point" where she was fantastic. Unfortunately, this was almost 10 years ago. As one of the major actors in the "Captain America" series she is interesting and exciting. But she was not asked to carry the movie. So, we know her potential, but we are not seeing it in some of her latest movies. It may be more of a matter of the type of movie and script, but the two recent science fiction roles do not show what she is capable of doing.

Lucy has a lot going for it, at least where it counts. Dig the tiniest bit beneath the junk science, though, and beware. Plot holes litter the filmscape. Thankfully, Johansson's performance, making it easier to overlook, or perhaps stomach, all the flaws. It's dumb, sure. But it's big and fun too. Go with it. You might enjoy yourself.

Well, Luc Besson is at it again. I was not sure if I loved this movie, or was confused as to what it really meant. The science (evolution) added to this film was really interesting, but I'm not sure how Besson was trying to tie it all together. Yet another fantastic role by Scarlett! The Lenticular slipcover was a very nice touch.

With movies such as this, there has to be a "suspension of disbelief". This one require a BIG ONE. But, the technical effects were believable. The only thing that I couldn't rap my head around involved the Mafia Boss. Maybe it was the Director's intention, I'm not sure. Definitely a movie for a weekend night and popcorn.

If you have a 4K HDR capable tv and 4K blue Ray player this is a must have. If you don't jump on board and get a 4K HDR Ultra Premium setup. This new format is not just marketing, it's the future and content like LUCY will make you see why. Add immersive audio and leave the movie theatre behind.

I give this movie credit for being different from many of the movies being produced by Hollywood these days. It's an unusual premise and I like Scarlett in the lead role. However, I'm not sure that it will be a movie that I watch over and over again, so it probably would have been better as a rental than as a purchase.

Starts out with our heroine in a 'wrong place, wrong time' situation and takes off from there with a new drug that unlocks the brain's full potential. We don't get any back story about how it all got started or if more is on the way, but fun to follow Lucy's rapid evolution while racing to stay away from the thugs who want their stuff back. Sort of tough to end something like this but a good ride. See 'Limitless' if you like this kind of thing, which I do.

It was a good sic-fi film, but the source of the exceptional brain powers was not really explained. She used the powers, but the end result does not seem plausible. How does one go from a melting down blob to an entity that exists in the earth's universe with unknown powers allowed by use of 100% of the brain's capacity?

The 4K version of this movie is excellent, holding highlights and shadows easily, and with fine color rendering. Motion handling is also great (normal for 4K since there no interpolation is needed.) The included blu-ray version of the movie is also wonderful. (For most of my family viewers, they cannot see the difference.)

I recently bought a UHD tv and the Samsung UHD player and besides having enjoyed this movie when I watched it on Blu-ray, I was looking for an Ultra HD disc that showed off the benefits of HDR, which I believe is more important than the higher resolution of UHD/4K material. This was my first UHD movie purchase to start my collection and it looks great. It also has a good ATMOS soundtrack if you happen to have an ATMOS setup at home.

Lucy is a Great Thrill Ride of a Movie

The premise of this film is simple. Scarlett Johansson is infused with a strong drug that leaks out of her body that makes her use most of her brain power. The visuals from Luc Besson are just absolutely stunning as you witness what she sees with her new brain power. Adding Morgan Freeman to the cast is yet another welcome addition. This 4K treatment of Lucy is just amazing not only for the plot, but also for the visuals.

What can I say. This movie was amazing to watch. The visuals are phenomenal. Lots of vivid colors and effects that were stunning on Blu-ray and look out of this world in 4K. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was my Blu-ray disc was a steelbook and the new release comes in regular packaging.

I think I've watched this movie about 3 times since I've bought it, very good movie and well written. The visuals were amazing but then again I bought the 4k version of it, so I kind of expected it to be great. The movie kind of reminds me of Matrix, Limitless, just how it deals with certain things. That's just my opinion but was the closest movies I could say reminded me of something. You won't regret buying it.

This is a good movie that actually has you thinking. Do we really only use 10 percent of our brains? Pretty good action scenes. the sound effects make good use of home theater system. sort of reminds me of John Travolta's Phenomenon on acid meets inception. Just that the achievements to use a hundred percent of the brain is not by a disease, it is a drug. I enjoy the movie and has fallen into my favorite section. Just for the concept of the movie.

This was a very entertaining movie. Be sure to suspend all rational thought before watching, and you 'll probably enjoy it. I did. It's not going to win any awards, but ScarJo did a great job, and the premise was fun. I am glad i bought it.

You'll need to really let go of reality to allow this film to be truly enjoyed. Once you suspend your belief of the laws of physics and space time you can begin to absorb what the film maker is trying to propose here. It's not as good a The Fifth Element, but it's watchable.

Mutants, superheroes, we've seen them. But what If you simply used more brain potential? Luc besson does an amazing job directing mind blowing scenes that at times are hard for the mind to comprehend. Scarlett johansen also gives an amazing performance, showing the subtle differences as her character changes
