Good but not great

I only briefly played the Gamecube LM before getting this and am about 90% thru the game while writing this. The fights/battles are great but get repetitive outside of boss battles. Everything else seems pretty pointless. There's no real incentive to collect money/extra items within the levels. The money allows you buy minor things like something that will bring you back to life if you die. Having upgrades for your equipment would've been an easy addition that made the game a lot better.
