The concept for mesh wifi is something that will change the way you connect at your house and it's amazing. The way Luma executes it is perfectly done and flawless.

Most first generation products are extremely buggy and not user-friendly. This Luma has been a breeze to use and I'm looking forward to future software enhancements.

Luma changes the way you will look at wifi. You don't need to be certified in network architecture to get your home connected. It's very easy, secure and fast.

It's a bit pricey, but well worth the money and it's a solid product. We now have consistent and reliable coverage through out our home with no issues.

After experiencing dead spots in my home, I bought this Luma product to resolve the issues primarily upstairs.
When I first set it up, it worked ok, with a little improvement, but after a few days we noticed they kept going off line. It was rare that we had all 3 Lumas online at the same time. It was a daily occurrence that we had to reboot one or two of them. Sometimes they came back online sometimes not.
After 3 weeks of struggling, I returned this junk.

I had really high hopes for this as our "new" house was built in the 40's and our old Netgear WiFi router was stuck in a corner of the house, giving our bedrooms no signal. Purchase from BestBuy.com was a breeze and arrived quickly. Once here, the headaches started.
The setup was not easy or without issues. Bluetooth setup simply does not work. The initial setup of the main Luma took 4 attempts before it was able to connect to Comcast. The second Luma took 3 attempts to connect to the first Luma. And the last Luma took over 10 attempts with a red ring and a call to Luma support to get resolved. Support said the Lumas were not close enough. Really? I measured the distance and the 2nd and 3rd were 25 feet apart and had direct line of sight to each other. As I was about to have Luma tell me how to send back the device, it connected and joined the other two.
Side note to Luma support. DO NOT tell me that I need to send my shiny new device back to you before you will send me a replacement. That is super poor customer service. Overnight the new device to me with a prepaid shipping label to return the defective unit.
Now that everything is setup and working as it should, I found that I am A) missing tons of what I thought were standard router features and B) constantly resetting the Lumas. Once a week, one of the Lumas will have a spinning blue ring. I power cycle the Luma and it would start working again.
The last straw is one Luma displayed a solid blue ring and would not connect to the network. Power cycle does not fix it, there is ZERO information on the Luma website and the app will not let me remove the Luma because it is not connected to the network ?!?
When Luma does work, it works pretty well. 3, maybe 4 stars. Otherwise I can't recommend this to anyone until Luma figures out how to make these stable.

My single old wifi route had better range and coverage than all 3 Luma devises put together. I returned the Luma. Poor recommendation by sales assistant.

We have a large historical 2 story house. Thick walls and poor Wi-Fi coverage. Was trying to find a good solution without having additional wires ran. Took a chance on this. Unfortunately I never even got to the point of seeing how strong it was. After following the instructions step by step I could not get anything to connect. All the light were on as they were supposed to but nothing. Sent an email to customer service and started Google searching for answers. Come to find out that many have encountered this issue when you have xfinity home security (which we do). In addition I had to call xfinity customer service (which is sooooo painful) to undo the adjustments on my cable/modem that you have to do to complete the setup. Frustrated I packed it all back up. Customer service did contact me and offered to attempt to troubleshoot but by that point I was done. Ended up running some data cable and adding 2 additional routers and can pretty much connect to Wi-Fi from down the street. In theory it's good but for me just didn't work out. And the cable and routers I added were about half the price so I'm happy it ended up the way it. The guy at bestbuy swore by this product and I hope others have better luck than me. But if you have xfinity home security I would say avoid it. Maybe this isn't the products fault but an xfinity thing but frustrating all the same.
