Luma may help you, but it didn't help me at all. Oh sure, it helped eliminate dead spots (which weren't really dead, just slow) and it eliminated the need to switch from router to access point as I moved from one area of the house to another, But: It reduced my throughput times enormously. My download speeds dropped by half and my upload speeds by 2/3 as confirmed on speedtest.net. Since I have Google Fiber, my wireless speeds on my Nighthawk R7000 have been very good. Such a disappointment to see them drop so much when I hook up to the Luma network. I'm always troubled by reviews (like I see here) that say Awesome, Perfect, !!!, etc. and add little else. Luma IS NOT is perfect. The software is incomplete and promised features do not yet exist. You can't even tell what channel you're connected to and if you could it wouldn't matter because Luma doesn't let you change that. The software shows totally bogus throughput speeds that don't ever change and won't match anything you get in real life. Summary: The mesh network works well and gives good coverage. The Internet speeds are much slower and the software is a mess. Did I mention very expensive?

I just love my Luma! I used to have to be plugged in via USB to send any file over 3 mbs from my laptop. Now I can be in another room and a 10 mb file will send quickly! I'm not super tech savvy, but I can general figure things out so the set up was easy for me! The app is really cool too. I love that it has parental controls ( a definite need with anyone who has kids over 3 and tablets) and the security monitoring 24/7 makes me feel extra safe that I'm not being hacked! Awesome job with an awesome product!

We needed coverage throughout a 5 story house, we had used router plus extenders but the speed/signal strength dropped significantly and meant constant switching networks. Was dubious given some of the reviews but decided lump was worth trying given pricing versus other 3 unit wifi networks. So far so good, I had speed tested all floors prior to install and all of them perform significantly better than previously, top floor and basement in particular. Set up was super easy, maybe some of the bugs have been worked out....

I love how easy it was to setup right out of the box. Speeds on the wifi match what we pay for with AT&T. I now have wifi coverage in every area of the house. I can highly recommend this product for someone who likes easy setup and great wifi speed!

We have a three story townhome and to say our WiFi has struggled would be an understatement. Enter Luma. On the recommendation of a techy friend at work I decided to try Luma. The setup was pretty easy, even for a non techy person like myself. Where we used to have WiFi deadspots we now have consistent coverage in every corner of our home. Worth every penny in my book!

I am a freelance designer, I work from home everyday & need a good wifi connection. I have a 1200 sq ft home with a 400 sq foot studio in the back yard about 40 feet away from the home. I recently moved my office to the studio & wanted to extend the wifi to reach the studio without having to hardwire the cable. Previously, I was using an AirPort Extreme as a router & tried several brands of wifi extenders to reach the studio. I could get it to work, but the connection was spotty and would drop every 5 min. This was driving me nuts! I was desperate for a new solution. I read about Eero & Luma. I decided to give Luma a try because some of the reviews I read were slightly better & the price, although still quite pricey is better than Eero. I called Luma's hotline prior to purchase, to talk through the sotuation & spoke with a very helpful customer service rep at length. The fact that someone could take so much time & was so accessible without long hold times made me want to support the company. However, the ultimate test was whether the product worked. I went out that day, returned the last wifi extender I had purchased to Best Buy & bought the Luma instead. I installed today, and so far it's working like a dream: clear consistent wifi with no drops & no buffering, through out the house & in the studio! I'm so impressed. It's only been one day so far, but if this keeps working like this, I'm going to become a Luma evangelist. The packaging was lovely, the design of the Luma pods is attractive, the setup was really easy, the customer service was great. Thank you Luma, keep up the great work.

I have been waiting for this product to be shipped since hearing about it late last year. I have a multi-level home and had been forced to go with several wireless networks to get coverage on each floor. Now, I don't know about you, but its a real pain when you need to print and even a bigger pain when the one you need is on another floor on another network. Luma has resolved these issues for me. I now have one network throughout the house, all printers are available regardless of where I am, the coverage better than I have ever had and the system is stable. I have around 20 devices setup, including laptops, printers, iPhones, iPads, Nest thermostats, a smart TV and more being added. By the way, the smart TV had been buffering on me to the point of making Netflix a pain. Once setup with Luma, no issues or buffering issues have occurred. It loads and goes. Is the app finished - no, but should it ever be? I hope not! I expect to see new features and capabilities rolled out going forward. Tell me one product that launched and was totally complete - nothing else to be done, enhanced or new functionality added. In this day and time, that would be buying a one trick pony. I'm not interested in that. Next on my list - Google fiber is on the way! Luma + Google fiber = the need for speed.

Even in my medium-sized apartment, the old thick concrete walls kept me from getting full reception in the living room (only had one cable jack on the other side in the bedroom). Plugged in 2 lumas and problem was solved. I even got 12 more mbps than with my old router. Wins all around for me. Set up was easy on the iPhone app and I don't have to hide the router in my bedroom cabinet anymore.

We have always had dead spots in our house but it seemed to be the worst in our son's bedroom where he uses the internet for XBox online gaming (or he was the loudest complainer). After the easy installation, we turned on Luma and all I could hear from our son's room is OMG, I have more bars! He is one very satisfied customer, as am I. Great product, great support, easy installation.

I just bought the Luma WIFI Router because we moved into a new house with more square footage and a guest house, and I wanted to ensure we had a stable signal throughout. I'm no techie, but the set up was incredibly easy. Download the app, and it walks you through the whole process. It was very intuitive, easy to follow, and took less than 10 minutes in total. Since I installed it, it's been awesome to see the upload and download speeds, and with lots of little friends over here with my kids, the guest access is awesome. I had an OnHub before, but with all my network wiring coming into a smart panel in the master closet, it didn't have the range I needed. Luma has solved that problem!

We recently installed the Luma Home WiFi System (3 Pack). The packaging is impressive. The product is also very well designed (like Apple products). The units are compact and light, and can be hidden easily. It also has a USB port on each unit so that it also acts as a usb charger, which was very thoughtful. Don't get shocked if you see no manual in the box. It has an awesome app to walk you through the setup. The installation was made very simplistic by the Luma app. The complete installation of all units should not take more than half an hour. It even showed the locations where optimal performance would be delivered. There was no need to walk through a complex WiFi set up routine to secure it. Our year-old netgear router gave comparable download speeds (capped by ISP) but the improvement in the upload speed was dramatic (0.41 Mbps to 7.13 Mbps!). This makes a big difference when you use cloud storage. We didn't have good coverage in our basement earlier, but with Luma we now have very good upload and download speed all through the house. Overall we are very satisfied with this surround WiFi system. Just what we were waiting for ...

I bought Luma to address my growing frustration with Wi-Fi coverage and speed in my two story home. My wireless router was upstairs opposite our kitchen+family room where most usage (including Netflix) occurs. I had bought a Netgear extender, but even that only yielded a fraction of the speed of my service. So I bought Luma after reading reviews and deciding not to pay up for the Eero and I have to say it was well worth it! Only a ~20 minute setup period (only took that long since I switched location of my first Luma), and after that it has tripled my internet speeds over Wi-Fi and all over the house. I actually connected the first luma to an ethernet cord downstairs in the first floor, as that connects directly to the router upstairs, and I think it helped with downstairs coverage (as opposed to starting the 'mesh' from the upstairs router). So those in similar environments may want to try that if you have active port downstairs directly connected to the router. Now my house is free of dead spots, I get the speed I'm paying for, and everyone is happily accessing what they want on all their devices. Thanks Luma!

Moved into a new house that was far to big for a normal router. Combined with the odd geometry of the place, I was at a loss for what to do to ensure full wifi coverage. After reading up about them, I picked up a three pack of Lumas and set one on each level of the house. Set up couldn't have been easier with the app walking you through every step, and they look great! I now have fantastic wifi throughout my entire home and I can easily monitor it at any time with the app. Amazing product.

installation was easy. I hooked up one to the modem and to a switch that lit up all the internet jacks throughout the home. I connected the other two lumas to different jacks and the whole home as great internet coverage. the home is 4500 sqft bungalow. the Luma's did take a few minutes to connect so be patient.

This router is far superior to my previous router! It constantly crashed and had to be reset, often with a frustrating phone call to the company to resolve the problem. This device does not have those problems, and I love that it eliminates any slow areas. I did have to call customer support to help set up as I'm not very tech savvy, but they were extremely nice and helpful. Side note, It's also much more aesthetically pleasing than any other router!

Luma was simple to set up from downloading the app to installing in our home. We had issues with our wifi in certain areas of our home which our now resolved. The added security is also a feature we really appreciate.

Super easy to set up! I just downloaded the app and within 10 minutes I had my entire system set up and running. Now I get the full speed of my charter internet all over my house. Truly and revolution for home wifi.

Just received my Luma 3 pack. Easy set up, security and parental controls are great. Eight devices connected and all are running better than ever.

After waiting for months for Luma to be released with high hopes that it would finally give my family the speed, coverage, and parental controls we needed, I was SEVERELY disappointed. A majority of the security and parental control features that were touted in the pre-release marketing were not integrated into the app yet, and promised to be release 'in a future release.' What?!? Then, basic router functionality like a log and port forwarding is totally missing. Lastly, in trying to use the 'Pause Internet' feature, it locked up the Internet to the entire house and would not let any device to re-connect. After close to an hour on the phone with their support department (who constantly needed to put me on hold to talk to a Level 2 technician) they had no idea what went wrong and said a product engineer would follow-up the next morning which never happened. Luma is a great concept, but far from reAdy for prime time. Maybe in 6-12 months, the product will mature and be better. *****REPORT CARD***** Product Concept: A+. (Love the focus on security and parental controls) Product Features: D (Most features are missing in the initial release pending a future app update) Internet Speed: A Reliability: F (App blocked Internet for every device in the entire house with no ability to 'reset' it. Support: D (Poor technical understanding and constantly putting customers on hold to ask Level 2 technicians).

Six months ago my ISP provided a wireless router that was intend to improve poor connectivity issues throughout my home. After receiving the router and several chat sessions and service calls with the service provider my connectivity remained the same. Luma however has completely solved my connectivity problems. I have Lumas on 3 different floors and I am now able to stream and surf effortlessly without loosing connectivity anywhere inside the home. Luma was simple to setup and is very user friendly. I highly recommend Luma to anyone that desires better connectivity, parental controls and more security for their home network.
