Like the switch. This purchase was made because I had a second Caseta dimmer that would not work without the hub. (It was cheaper to by the hub in a bundle.) It would be nice if this would work hubless with a Smart Things or Wink hub.

The directions on the website to install are not good. The extra switch I bought did not work. Best buy would not take it back. After requesting the manager the only thing I got was store credit.

This was a little harder for me to setup, but it has been working well for me. I use it both with Alexa (Amazon Echo), Siri (iPhone), and IFTTT. It dims my four LED recessed lights in my living room.

Amazing - Works With Amazon Echo

If you're just starting into the world of Home Automation, your best first purchase would be the Lutron Caseta dimmer kit with hub. You'll be able to control your home lights with a remote control, but when you get addicted to this you'll want to quickly step up to the Amazon Echo so you can control them via voice. I can tell her to turn on/off all lights, or just individual ones. You can setup groups within Amazon Echo for different lights as well (i.e. create lighting zones). After starting with the Belkin WeMo light switches, these blow them out of the water because they are dimmable. I moved on to the Lowes Iris system b/c I basically got the starter kit for free (was on sale for $99 but I had gift cards). It is awesome b/c it came with a wireless thermostat and now that Lowes has integrated with Amazon Echo I can control z-wave switches & outlets plus the thermostat via voice. I would recommend anybody to go with a Samsung SmartThings hub instead, but if you get the opportunity to get the Iris starter kit w/thermostat for $99 (super sale a long time ago) then go with it b/c the value can't be beat. The Lutron Caseta switches work with the SmartThings but not Iris, but who cares?! Now that Amazon Echo works directly with Lutron I can control everything I need to.

    Works perfectly

I bought this to use as a 3- way switch set up in my kitchen. I have 13 recessed dimmable CAN LED lights in the kitchen that I wanted to be able to control via voice though my Smartthings hub and Google home. My recess lights each draw 9.2 watts so this dimmer easily could handle all 13 lights (approximately 120 watts for all). Simple set up as I followed the online video on caseta wireless website. Once installed, I set up a lutron account on my phone. Then connected my lutron account in my Samsung Smartthings app for my hub to recognize the lights. Lastly, I updated my Smartthings account within Google Home app such that I can control all lights with my voice. I simply say "hey Google, turn on Kitchen lights" and Wa La...They are on. I can easily dim them by saying "Hey Google, set kitchen lights to 40%" and they all dim evenly. A smart product well done and easy to set up. Whole set up was approximately 20 minutes.

Like others here, I first tried the Belkin Wemo Dimmer (i was attracted to its ambient light and I have a few WeMo products). I quickly learned that a neutral wire is needed for that switch to function. I traded the WeMo dimmer in for this kit, and I installed it in less than 10 minutes including registering on the app and integrating it with Amazon Alexa. The remote is helpful for guests / those not as tech-savvy who want a remote near on a wall near the couch (or other side of a large room). I am so impressed with this switch that I want to buy more.

HomeKit Certified, Easy Installation, Solid Build

Contrary to the reviews written in 2014, this is now an Apple HomeKit Certified connected home product! I purchased this item a few weeks ago, and thus far it has exceeded expectations. Here is a list of pros and cons that I have experienced. PRO: * Apple HomeKit Certified meaning you can use Siri on your iOS device to control all or individual light’s power status and their brightness. NICE!! *Can be controlled with 4 Physical Buttons on Wall Switch, Connected App, and 5 Button Remote * Quite reliable, quick/responsive. * Smooth Dimming for entire range on LED, Incandescent, and Halogen * Impressive RF Wireless Range * No Neutral Wire required * Includes RF Pico Remote with memory that can be tied to other Caseta products as well. * Readily Expandable * Easy Setup * Secure super strong Encryption (3,072-bit key to be exact) * Solid Build Quality from a trusted name in lighting * Completely Silent does not hum, buzz, click, or otherwise emit any audible sound. CON: * Uses Lutron’s Proprietary “Clear Connect” wireless control protocol * Bridge NOT able to control Non-Lurton devices such as Zigbee or Z-Wave * Bridge requires Ethernet port, no WiFi. * Power failure results in lights set to Full ON not returning to previous state * No Memory Button on Wall Switch, just on Pico Remote There are some limitations to the system, however I feel that benefits outweigh the shortcomings. I do recommend this system to anyone that does not already have a Smart Bridge of another company, does not want to control non-Lutron Caseta products, or (like me) want to control the system entirely by voice. If you already have a bridge, I still recommend the Caseta line of switches and dimmers sold individually.

A nice addition to home automation

I've been slowly voice automating my entire house with Google home, this was a nice addition! The setup up and installation was fairly straight forward even with my minimal electrical experience. The app makes it easy to setup and sync with the Google home app as well as using voice commands to turn it on and off and dim or brighten. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because of the led compatibility with different types of bulbs. Make sure you use the recommended bulb which you can find a list of on lutron's website. If you experience flickering you may need to adjust the wattage levels on the switch or make sure you have the correct bulbs. All in all I like it and would recommend.

It was simple to setup and get running and well worth it. I am currently using it in the mancave and it's great. Everything works as advertised. I will be using it with the Amazon puck when it comes out. Currently I am using the iPhone app and the little remote that came with it. I love it! I have always been a fan of Lutron.

Great "off the shelf way" to control lighting

This thing is awesome. I installed 3 light controllers and will probably install a couple more. Works great with Amazon Echo Alexa and Apple Homekit/Siri. The future is here...hands free just shout out to Alexa (and I'm sure Siri in the next MacOS update) have your lights come on or dim and like magic they do!!! The one negative, I called customer service and they told me that the bridge only works with a radius of 30 ft! This could potentially be a big problem. They are going to need to offer some range extenders or plugs and wall switches that act as range extenders.... Or a wireless bridge that is not hard plugged into your wireless router. So far I've only installed this in my family/kitchen and it works great! This product has great potential. For a few hundred bucks its fun to try it out!

    Great home automation upgrade

I'm slowly upgrading from older maestro dimmers and these are a great replacement. The Lutron app allows you to create scenes so the lights dim for tv or movie viewing, or turn on automatically when you arrive home or off when you leave. With HomeKit integration you can use a iPhone and say "Siri turn my kitchen lights on" or "Siri turn the basement lights on to 50%". HomeKit is a very nice feature, and this Lutron hub also interfaces with motorized blinds to open and close blinds on a daily schedule, at bedtime, while watching a movie etc. I have 6 of the switches so far and we'll be adding more soon. Highly recommended!

    Best smart home investment yet

I love the Lutron Caseta as it finally enables me to have smart lighting without changing every single bulb. The benefits to switching out your light switch for a smart one such as the Lutron Caseta, is that it enables all the lights to be smart, rather than just individual bulbs. I prefer this route over going through every single bulb, because if you have a large house, or several bulbs connected to 1 switch, this will end up costing you less in the long run. I have mine connected to Google Assistant as well, so I can just tell Google home to turn on/off the lights or dim it. It's great!
