Apple Has A Winning Combination On Its Hands
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Post 65 year old eyes can read the 13" Retina screen without glasses - a nice surprise. Running macOS Ventura - works as advertised and expected. Instantaneous response on nearly everything - a lot of horsepower under the hood of this ultra-portable laptop for the general purpose user. Build quality is well done - despite the thin chassis design, chassis case is NOT "flexy" nor "twisty" when handling in either the open, or closed, position. Backlit keyboard is really useful. I am mostly a consumer of web content - a glorified iPad user, as it were - but wanted to run some specialized macOS apps that are not available in iOS iPad form - that, and I am an avowed mouse user, not a touch-screen interface aficionado, for serious/involved computing tasks. Firefox/Safari, BBEdit, Apple Mail, Apple Message, Apple Calendar, iTunes Music App, Apple Preview, Apple Pages/iMovie/Numbers apps, Apple iCloud and iPhoto - usual general purpose apps/suspects all are speedy and reliable. This ultra portable weighs ~3 pounds or so - carrying it through an airport, travel, distances is easy due to small size and weight. Set-up and beginning of use is within 5-10 seconds of removing it from carry-case, in most cases. In the past, have traveled with all different sizes of laptops over the decades - this M1 Macbook Air is the lightest in weight, while being the most powerful of a computer, thus far. Battery life is very good - web cruised 10 hours or so, and still had over 60% of battery life left. Past laptops would be lucky to get 5 hours before exhausting the battery. And, with this Macbook Air sitting on my lap the entire 10-hour web cruising episode (or sitting on nearby couch cushion periodically), it never got hot to the touch - at all - entire top/keyboard area remained room temperature cool, and bottom side facing my lap was barely body temperature - yet, speedy was its actions - blinkety-blink - as fast as I could make selections, etc., response was always instantaneous. Would buy another of this model.

One of the best 13in around, M1 is a gem!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this as an additional to my MBP16, which is an excellent powerhouse laptop but heavy and cumbersome to carry around if you need to do Photoshop on the go. This Air M1 is super light and the battery is fantastic. Having no fan makes it quiet if you want to do a call or 2 as the MBP16 has fans and can get loud. At no point did I feel the laptop get sluggish. I even ran WoW SL on it to try the M1 chip and was astonished it can pull 60FPS at lvl 5 but not a native resolution, i had it near 1080p which is much better than the MX350 which I've also tried on (though that was the 10w version). outpaces the Vegas. I guess the only gripes I have is the bezels could be a bit thinner esp in 2020 and 8GB is ok, maybe a couple of more usb-c ports would help but then again it's an Air, not a Pro

A Marvelous Experience with the M1 MacBook Air!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently made the leap to upgrade my laptop, and after much research, I settled on the M1 MacBook Air - and boy, am I glad I did! This sleek and powerful machine has exceeded all my expectations, making it a true game-changer in the world of laptops. First and foremost, the performance of the M1 chip is nothing short of extraordinary. This MacBook Air flies through tasks with unmatched speed and efficiency. Whether I'm editing photos, streaming 4K videos, or working on complex projects, it handles everything without breaking a sweat. The battery life is simply incredible; it lasts me throughout the day, and sometimes I find myself forgetting to charge it overnight. This newfound freedom from constant charging has transformed the way I work and travel. The M1 MacBook Air's design is a true work of art. It's unbelievably lightweight, making it effortless to carry around, and the aluminum finish gives it a premium look and feel. The keyboard is a dream to type on, with just the right amount of key travel and satisfying feedback. The trackpad is responsive and precise, making multitasking a breeze. As a student, the M1 MacBook Air has been a lifesaver during my lectures and note-taking. The fanless design ensures a silent operation, eliminating distractions in a quiet classroom or library environment. Its ability to run iOS apps natively is an added bonus, as I can access my favorite mobile apps directly on my laptop. One of the most significant improvements I noticed is the temperature management. Even during resource-intensive tasks, the M1 MacBook Air remains cool to the touch, a stark contrast to my previous laptop, which often felt like it could double as a toaster. macOS, combined with the M1 chip, is a match made in heaven. The system is buttery smooth, and software compatibility has not been an issue for me at all. In fact, many applications I use have already been optimized for the M1 architecture, delivering exceptional performance. The display is a treat for the eyes. The Retina resolution is crisp and vibrant, making media consumption an absolute joy. Whether I'm editing photos or binge-watching my favorite shows, the colors are accurate and the contrast is impressive. Overall, the M1 MacBook Air has redefined my computing experience. Its incredible performance, stunning design, and all-day battery life have made it an indispensable tool for both work and leisure. Apple has truly outdone themselves with this revolutionary machine, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in search of a top-notch laptop that will undoubtedly stand the test of time.

First ever macbook, and a great experience
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first ever macbook, and I was a little apprehensive of getting the base model with only 8GB of RAM and 256GB of hard drive space. However, although I've only been using it for a few weeks, I've been extremely happy with both the performance and workflow. It integrates nicely with my other apple products, and the M1 chip has been great at keeping everything nice and smooth. The battery life has been amazing as well - my old laptop dies in an hour, so it's been amazingly liberating to get to work for an entire day and not even drain the battery on this

Belter machine that started a new era
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Apple MacBook Air M1 (2020) is a laptop that has generated considerable buzz since its release, and for good reason. As a long term owner of this device, I would rate it a solid 3 out of 5 stars. While it boasts impressive performance and battery life, there are notable drawbacks that prevent it from achieving a higher rating. Performance The standout feature of the MacBook Air M1 is undoubtedly its performance. The M1 chip has transformed this laptop into a powerhouse, allowing it to handle demanding tasks with ease. I frequently run multiple applications simultaneously—such as Chrome with numerous tabs, Microsoft Office, and even some light video editing—and the MacBook Air never falters. The transition from Intel to Apple's silicon has resulted in faster boot times and snappier overall performance. In benchmark tests, it rivals even the more expensive MacBook Pro models, which is quite impressive for a device in this price range. Battery Life Battery life is another area where the MacBook Air excels. I can comfortably get through an entire workday without needing to recharge, often achieving upwards of 10-12 hours on a single charge depending on usage. This longevity is particularly beneficial for those who need to work on the go or in locations where power outlets are scarce. The fanless design contributes to its silent operation, which I appreciate during long working hours. Design and Build Quality However, the design of the MacBook Air M1 feels somewhat dated. At first glance, it looks almost identical to its predecessors, which diminishes the excitement of unboxing a new device. While the build quality remains top-notch—lightweight and sleek—the lack of any significant design upgrades makes it feel less innovative compared to other laptops released around the same time. Display and Keyboard The Retina display is crisp and vibrant, making it great for both work and entertainment. However, I found that the brightness could be improved for outdoor use; under direct sunlight, visibility can be challenging. The Magic Keyboard is a welcome upgrade from previous models with butterfly switches; it's comfortable for extended typing sessions and feels responsive. Limitations Despite its strengths, there are some limitations worth noting. The webcam quality is disappointing; during video calls, I often look grainy and washed out compared to other laptops I've used. Additionally, while the ability to run iOS apps is exciting, many of them do not translate well to a laptop interface, which can be frustrating at times. Conclusion In conclusion, the MacBook Air M1 (2020) is an excellent choice for users seeking a powerful ultraportable laptop with remarkable battery life. However, its lack of design innovation and subpar webcam quality hold it back from being truly exceptional. If you prioritize performance and battery life over aesthetics and webcam quality, this laptop will serve you well; otherwise, you may want to consider alternative options in the market.

First Time MacBook User
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I have used Apple iPhones for years and I wear an Apple watch this is the first Apple computer that I have ever used. For the price this computer is hard to beat. The size is great, the M1 chip is extremely fast and the display is amazing. I have not had any issues with running any of the software programs that I use. I normally don’t like keyboards and track pads on laptops but these are great and extremely easy to use. One thing that I found to be different than with the windows laptops that I have previously used, are the lack of ports. You only get two USB Type C ports, you will defiantly need an external hub with this. Also for the 256GB model, the storage is limited so I use an external 1TB SSD with it. Another difference is that you cannot upgrade anything on this laptop. With my previous windows laptops I would usually end up adding extra RAM or upgrading the hard drive myself over time. Overall I am very satisfied and would purchase this laptop again. Like I said at this price it’s hard to beat.

The storage capacity, portability and the battery life were all great plus there's no fan on it, you can't hear any noise which kind a bothers me in my previous laptop. It doesn't warm on the bottom surface even i used it the whole day. Got it on sale also so it saves me some money there.

||Posted . Performance, battery life, speakers, keyboard, trackpad, screen are all fantastic. Webcam is decent. The all-aluminum shell is extremely elegant and high quality, and the fanless design means no case vent openings and silent operations. This laptop is just excellent overall. It is also very thin and light. With this laptop often being on sale, it is a fantastic choice that I can't recommend enough.

Don't fret, worth a bet!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this incredible product for approximately 1.5 years, and I can confidently say that I made the right choice when I switched from Windows to Mac. As someone who was initially skeptical about the transition, I was seeking a device that would primarily cater to my academic needs while also providing some entertainment value on the side. This Mac has exceeded my expectations in every way. One of the standout features of this device is its remarkable lightweight design, which has saved my back from the usual strain of carrying heavy laptops. Additionally, the battery life is impressive, often lasting over a whole day, based on my usage patterns. This kind of endurance is a game-changer, especially for students and professionals on the go. What truly sets this Mac apart is its impressive capability to run machine learning models faster than most laptops with high-end Intel processors. This processing power is a boon for anyone involved in data analysis, research, or machine learning tasks. The seamless performance and efficiency have made my academic work more productive and enjoyable. I've had zero complaints or issues with this device. It's been a reliable companion that has consistently delivered on its promises. The power, portability, and battery life make it a fantastic value for the money. To conclude, this Mac has proven to be an excellent investment for my academic and entertainment needs. If you're looking to switch from Windows to Mac and want a lightweight, long-lasting, and high-performance device, look no further. I can confidently recommend this product to anyone searching for a reliable and versatile computer that doesn't disappoint. It's a five-star winner all the way!

From the moment I opened the sleek and stylish laptop, I was impressed. The M1 chip's performance is nothing short of remarkable. It's incredibly fast, handling multiple tasks with ease. Whether I'm browsing the web, editing photos, or even doing some light video editing, it never lags. The fanless design makes it near-silent, which is a welcome change from my previous laptop. The battery life is outstanding. I can go through a full workday without worrying about recharging, and that's a big plus for my on-the-go lifestyle. The instant wake-up and resume feature is also super convenient. The Retina display is stunning, with vibrant colors and sharp text. Watching movies or working on design projects is a joy. The keyboard feels comfortable and is a pleasure to type on. The build quality is exceptional, and the laptop is incredibly thin and lightweight. It's perfect for travel and carrying around. The Magic Keyboard and the larger trackpad are also nice improvements. As for software compatibility, the transition to Apple Silicon has been seamless. Most of the apps I use regularly have been optimized, and even when running non-optimized apps, the performance is impressive. In summary, the MacBook Air with the M1 chip is a fantastic laptop. It offers incredible performance, outstanding battery life, a beautiful display, and a sleek design. Whether you're a professional or a casual user, it's a brilliant choice. Apple has truly set a new standard in laptop performance with this one.

M1 is locked in
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The MacBook Air 13.3” with the M1 chip is stupidly good. Like, I don’t know what Apple put in this thing, but it’s crazy fast. I can have 20 tabs open, Spotify playing, and still edit stuff without it even flinching. The battery lasts forever. I’m not kidding—it’s like it refuses to die. Perfect for when I forget my charger (which is always). The screen? Gorgeous. Everything looks sharp and colorful, and yeah, it makes me want to watch Netflix instead of work. Plus, it’s so light, I barely notice I’m carrying it around. Oh, and it doesn’t have a fan, so it’s completely silent. No annoying buzzing, no overheating—just vibes. Honestly, this laptop is unfairly good. If you’re not buying it, what are you even doing? Get one and thank me later.

Personal Experience since purchasing back in Nov.
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot believe that it has been one year since I ditched Windows for MacOS. But seriously this base model M1 MacBook Air has not only changed the way I feel about the Apple computers but it has also completely changed the way I work daily. In short, this is, in my personal opinion, the best laptop I have used. Shocking definitely, especially considering that I was a long-time Windows user. But, welcome to my long-term review of this base model Apple M1 MacBook Air after using it for almost one year, and if you are still considering whether your next laptop should be a Windows or MacBook... I hope my sharing will help to swing you towards one. Now you have probably seen a million people talk on this machine, so there's no benchmark but I am going to bring you through how I use this machine on any typical day. #1 Webcam & Microphone quality Right off the bat, I have probably done hundreds of video calls with these things. The webcam even though is only 720p overall, offers better colors, better skin tone, and an overall brighter picture, if compared with my Lenovo Legion 5 Gaming laptop. But what’s impressive is the Microphone quality. I use it not only for my Zoom sessions but also to record voice memos, WhatsApp audio, WhatsApp calls, Facetime, making phone calls. #2 Audio Despite this being only 13”, the built-in speakers are just mind-blowing, with large & powerful output, which puts a lot of Premium Windows laptops to shame. If you want some “Me-only” moments, the headphone jack audio output is respectable, delivering clean, loud audio regardless of the workload #3 Keyboard Backlight The keyboard backlight is available in the Control Center for manual adjustments but you can always set it to Auto-adjust in System Preferences. #4 Touchpad The Touchpad. What more can I say? this is THE BEST built-in touchpad ever! Zero complaints. #5 Ports Now, for the two thunderbolt-3 ports on the left. Honestly, for my use with a simple hub in the past 1 year, it’s a non-issue. For one of the ports I run my UGREEN 10-in1 USB-C hub with 100W PD and this is the “command center” for my desk setup. It connects My 22” Monitor, my external HDDs, as well as my Flash drive and SD cards. It also has an ethernet port if I ever require faster connections The 2nd port I use with my Rii compact 83-key wireless keyboard & mouse combo or if I need to connect my iPhone directly via cable and use the machine as a Monitor, while I adjust the camera angle. #6 Display Now, this machine only allows you to natively connect to one external monitor. For me, it is perfectly fine. I’m not running multiple monitor setups directly with my M1 Air. Having said that, if I want to add a 2nd monitor in the future. I can do an easy upgrade and get a Dual HDMI USB-C Hub from HyperDrive. #7 What happens every morning So in the morning, I will have my coffee and breakfast at the coffee table in the living room. I will walk into my computer room, bring out the device, and set it on the table The “Instant On” feature is just fantastic as that means there is absolutely no waiting around, which unfortunately is something I always need to face every morning with my Windows laptop. The fingerprint unlock or Touch ID, which is also the Power Button, allows me to unlock my machine instantly. I can also use it to approve my purchases and automatically fill in my passwords. It just works. If I wanna lay back, I could sit back on the sofa and put it directly on my lap since it's fanless. #8 Performance & Battery life But here’s something that I truly appreciate about this machine, coming from being a Long-time Windows user. And that’s performance in a fanless chassis and how it continues to deliver consistent performance even while on battery. This means that you don’t get any drop in Performance when you plug out the power cable. Which is not something I can say for ANY Windows laptop. Now, I am also confident to say that everything you have heard about the battery is True. I usually start my morning with a fully-charged M1 Air, screen brightness at 50%, Wifi on, Bluetooth On and I will have multiple apps running, Whatsapp, Telegram, Safari (With 5 tabs), Apple Music playing and editing a 1080p video in iMovie. And it can last me at least 8 hours straight before I need to plug in the power at 10%. On days, when I am doing basic productivity tasks like Word, Excel, Emails, preparing my script, researching content, watching YouTube videos, and not doing any video editing, I only lose around 40% battery after a whole day. So in general, battery life is so good that it is never a concern. I lose about 10% per 2 hours whenever I am doing my productivity tasks.

Almost Perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I highly recommend the MacBook Air for most people, especially for those in the Apple ecosystem. Pros: M1 is amazing. Compared to the Intel i5 in my 2015 MacBook Pro, this processor is completely transformative. It's incredibly snappy, has instant-on from wake, far better efficiency and battery life. It's very thin and light. The keyboard is great. Touch ID is a nice feature. Cons: Only 8 GB ram. The 16 GB version would be a worthwhile upgrade, but it isn't available from BB. The screen is a little disappointing. The contrast at low brightness levels is slightly worse than my 2015 MacBook Pro. It would be nice if it had MagSafe and an HDMI port.

It is very thin and light weight, I can just bring it whenever and wherever I want to go. Overall experience is more that what I expected. Im glad to have used this kind of technology.
