Salesperson was very helpful and informed. I’m a Mac Owner myself and the new I Mac Air is an amazing computer, I definitely want to get one for myself now! Love the Best Buy total rewards program and have already saved over 300$!

Is 8GB enough?

However, I found that opening certain combinations of stuff such as a second monitor (because the video memory uses the unified memory, VS Code, Github, 4 tabs of chrome, and DataGrip made this computer a bit sluggish (as to be expected). I would be using 8-10 GB of swap. I've since then upgraded to the 13" pro with 16gb, and then the 14" pro with 16gb. Its super fast CPU and fast swap storage didn't compensate for the 8GB, as I foolishly thought it would.

Great Entry Level MacBook

The M1 chip is still great, and the computer hasn't crashed on me in my few months of owning this, and the battery life is good as well! Would highly recommend it as an entry-level MacBook! (And watch out for the sale when this item is $750!)

We’ve always been an Apple family, but sometimes the cost can be prohibitive. Not this time! Our son is thrilled with this computer and says it’s the best laptop he’s had. It’s quick, easy to use, interfaces well with his other Apple products and absolutely loves the battery lif!
