replacement for desk computer

It has taken getting used to the pad mouse area and the quirky way the screen jumps around with use. The adapter that I was sold to connect a wired mouse and keyboard was not compatible with this laptop. I have yet to return it for something that will work for that. I am not very computer savvy, but basically I would love to have my old Apple back in working order. The reasons for buying the laptop was the cost of it compared to a new desk top and I thought it would be nice for traveling.
