Great 13" laptop - better than any PC
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best mac I have ever owned (and have owned G5 Cheesegrater, mac mini Intel machines, macbook, macbook air (intel)). This thing is really amazing for the price - especially when on sale at $800. I bought open box for $865 early in 2021 and no issues. Just traded into Apple last week for $515! Got great use out of it for two years and trade in value was excellent. Waiting to get the 15" Macbook Air that is supposed to be released June 2023. THAT will be the perfect machine (assuming they don't do something stupid with design/features). This thing runs Windows 11 and Ubuntu 22 faster than a native install on a "windows" PC. Just BLOWS them out of the water and not by a little - the M1 ARM processor is very fast - at many things - so even if don't like MacOS - just buy Paralles virtualzation software and a Windows license. Done and Done. For what you pay/get you can't do better for general use machine. Battery life ridiculous - lasts for whole day of use no problem. One benefit of buying this older machine is Apple designed these with 2 SSDs (effecivetly a RAID configuration) which is twice as fast as the M2 machines (unless you get the upgraded storage). So, buying the base model still nets you performance gains you won't get on an M2 based machine.

MacBook Air M1
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop if you can get a deal on it If it was full price for a 2020 model, with 8gb of ram, and a 256 SSD, this laptop wouldn't have been in consideration in my search. Best Buy had a great deal on it a month ago. I am already in the "Apple Eco-System" so toggling things between my iPad, phone, and MacBook is seamless and fast, just convenience. The 8gb of ram sounds like a joke in 2023 but if you're just doing some basic tasks, ie; a few safari tabs, notes open, test taking, etc, its not going to slow down, its enough since the OS is great at being efficient with that kind of stuff. The soldered on SSD was also concerning but again if you're not a power user downloading a lot of large files I'm sure it'll last a long time. The battery life is great, I have no issue getting a few days out of it. Build quality is also the greatest I have felt personally and while the keyboard is different that anything I've used in the past (mechanical, brown switches) after a month of use I started to like it a lot. Some other small things I've noticed, its VERY thin, not too heavy in a backpack, speakers are loud and sound great, the screen gets fairly bright and is nice to look at, trackpad hasn't been an issue when using different gestures, touch ID hasnt failed me yet, webcam quality and mic are average. If you can get a deal on it and if you're a casual user like myself, I would recommend it all day. I'm in flight school just using it for basic tasks and it does everything that I need it too very well. The only gripe I've had is the 2 USB-C ports, I guess its something you sacrifice with the form factor. Personally I would've given up a few millimeters of its profile and thinness to get some more ports and ease of use. Keep in mind one is used for charging so you only have 1 open port if that time comes

Beast!
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from the 2020 Intel MacBook Air and boy what an upgrade! I should have waited but at the time, I wasn’t informed. It’s fast and quiet (no fan running constantly for just cause). It does what it’s supposed to do effortlessly. An excellent buy especially if you’re new MacBooks or just want a great computer for a good price.

Best bang for buck New entry Level Macbook
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was in the market for a laptop when i went back to school and was using my sister's 2012 macbook air. I liked the size and portability while still being easy to use for my slightly bigger than normal hands. I was between the macbook air m1 and m2 (apple processor). I decided on the m1 macbook air since i didnt like the design of the m2 (the notch, and flatness to the chassis). I also liked that it took the same charger as everything else i have now (usb type c). I got the absolute base model and have overall been happy with it, my only issue woth it has probably been my own fault. That issue is with google chrome and the laptop somtimes slowing down where it gives me the loading image of the cursor. I have sometimes noticed it on some other applications however i attribute it to not turning off the laptop as often as i should and having to many windows/ applications open. The keyboard is one of if not the best out there and the speakers are second to none in the class. Overall 5/5 stars for years to come of use.

M1 Magic: Still the Best Value and Most Efficient
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Performance and Silence The highlight of this laptop is the Apple M1 chip. It handles everything I throw at it—from heavy multi-tasking and large spreadsheets for work, to light photo editing—without ever slowing down. Because of the chip’s efficiency, the laptop is completely fanless, meaning it runs in absolute silence, which is amazing for late-night work sessions or studying from home. Battery Life is Legendary The battery life is truly game-changing. It genuinely delivers up to 18 hours of battery life, allowing me to leave the charger at home for a full day of classes or work. This freedom from outlets is perhaps the biggest quality-of-life upgrade this MacBook offers. Design and Features The 13.3-inch display is crisp and bright, making movies and work documents look fantastic. The physical design is classic Apple: sleek, premium, and portable. Security is seamless and fast thanks to the integrated Touch ID, which makes logging in and authenticating purchases instant. While newer models feature the Liquid Retina display, the M1's display is still beautiful and perfectly suited for its size. Verdict If you are looking for the perfect blend of performance, portability, and value, the M1 MacBook Air is an unbeatable choice. It’s ideal for students, professionals, and anyone who needs a reliable, blazing-fast laptop that lasts all day. Highly recommended!

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If your on the edge for purchasing this laptop. Go for it I say this as a person that was strictly against it for the cost. This computer outdoes all of the other computers. It is fast! It does all things college related, as well as crafty. Light weight and small enough to take almost anywhere.

THE Standard for Laptops
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned the MacBook Air M1 (first gen) for almost a year and I can say without a doubt this is THE best laptop I have ever used. Honestly, I'm hesitant to even call it a laptop as it feels more like a work of art or a magical artifact. Let's take a closer look: Design? Breathtaking. Battery? Outstanding. Display? Gorgeous. Performance? Out of this world. Do yourself the favor and buy yourself this work of art. You won't regret it.

Best Air yet!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This little guy... Wow.. Battery life is out-of-this world. Great screen, better keyboard than a couple of generations ago. Stupid fast. Don't let the 8GB of ram scare you. The M1 processor uses ram differently than the older Core processors. A lot of your main-stream software is already at least compatible with the M1, with more and more being optimized all the time! Everything I use day-to-day is already optimized and WOW the performance from this entry-level LAPTOP kills my old desktop!!

Light weight
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had an iPhone and an I watch for several years and a friend of mine gave me their old MacBook Pro but it’s so old that I can’t update it anymore and I’m going back to school for the first time in 20 years and I needed a new computer. And I knew that would be nice to have a Mac system because it would sync with my other devices, And as much as I know they’re worth it I couldn’t afford a 2023 MacBook Air and I needed something light. But I looked it up and I read that the 2020 MacBook Air‘s were rated very well And it ends up being less than half the price of buying a brand new one even with the AppleCare coverage. So I’m really happy with it because it was a way for me to get a new computer which I’ve never had in my entire life, and I got the brand I wanted just a model that was a few years older, but never been used. And it was super easy to set up. It couldn’t have been easier. So I am very very happy with the purchase.

Great compact laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sleek and stylish, this laptop is great. Plus its very affordable. I love how vibrant the screen is. The device is very thin and easy to hold. When you are using it for a long time the system does not get hot at all on the bottom. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a seriously power laptop in a compact size.

Perfect upgrade from Apple's Intel MacBook Air
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new M1 is all about speed and efficiency. Everything is snappy in the new Big Sur MacOS and it really does feel like you're getting speed that we've been accustomed to on our everyday mobile devices. I think that my expectations were unreasonably high as YouTube reviewers were showing test running intensive applications for photo and video editing and made it seem like the Air could be a full on replacement for intel-based MacBook Pro's. While this is true in small limited tests, I found that in everyday use it could get sluggish here and there when running Adobe's graphic design programs like Adobe XD and Illustrator. This is where maybe the 16GB of RAM option would have been a better buy and make the Air and MacBook Pro comparable. So all in all, I think that if you're just looking for a reliable replacement for an everyday computer the Air is a great option and it blows away the intel-based versions. But as an workhorse laptop for heavy content creation, the 8GB RAM option won't cut it and you'll be kicking yourself for not getting the 16GBs or going up the the MacBook Pro.
