If it was full price for a 2020 model, with 8gb of ram, and a 256 SSD, this laptop wouldn't have been in consideration in my search. Best Buy had a great deal on it a month ago. I am already in the "Apple Eco-System" so toggling things between my iPad, phone, and MacBook is seamless and fast, just convenience. The 8gb of ram sounds like a joke in 2023 but if you're just doing some basic tasks, ie; a few safari tabs, notes open, test taking, etc, its not going to slow down, its enough since the OS is great at being efficient with that kind of stuff. The soldered on SSD was also concerning but again if you're not a power user downloading a lot of large files I'm sure it'll last a long time. The battery life is great, I have no issue getting a few days out of it. Build quality is also the greatest I have felt personally and while the keyboard is different that anything I've used in the past (mechanical, brown switches) after a month of use I started to like it a lot. Some other small things I've noticed, its VERY thin, not too heavy in a backpack, speakers are loud and sound great, the screen gets fairly bright and is nice to look at, trackpad hasn't been an issue when using different gestures, touch ID hasnt failed me yet, webcam quality and mic are average. If you can get a deal on it and if you're a casual user like myself, I would recommend it all day. I'm in flight school just using it for basic tasks and it does everything that I need it too very well. The only gripe I've had is the 2 USB-C ports, I guess its something you sacrifice with the form factor. Personally I would've given up a few millimeters of its profile and thinness to get some more ports and ease of use. Keep in mind one is used for charging so you only have 1 open port if that time comes.

Big upgrade I made from the air 2011 to this one. Love the screen size and has great battery life. Even though it’s bigger it still has the lightweight feel. Only ick is the fingerprint smudges on touchpad and keyboards. Other than that really enjoy the laptop and looking forward to upgrading.

Runs great. Replaced my old Macbook Air. The keyboard is a little more sensitive than the old Air... but Im getting used to it. Lighter.. thinner.. Screen is good... Trackpad is larger.. that kinda causes a problem for me with my lousy typing form as my thumbs hit it and it causes the cursor to move around.. Battery life seems about the same as the old AIR. So, no noticeably huge improvement as far as I can see..

This MacBook is perfect for somebody who’s in school and needs to be on the go. It’s nice and portable and it’s very functional and operates very quickly. I like the SSD drive on it it’s very fast and the ram gives good optimal performance.

First ever Mac book and it’s great battery last a long time, I’ve had no trouble so far and I only really use it for college this laptop is very good quality. Only con is it is not touch screen which I would be nice to include for the price but overall great laptop.

Really like the MacBook Air. I like how it connects with my iPhone. Still getting used to Apple's way of doing things after years of using Windows, but I was expecting that. The size is basically a little bigger than my wife's iPad, but I think my MacBook Air is lighter! Great screen. I did buy accessories so I would not be limited by the two Thunderbolt ports; that is a negative, but, again, I knew that going into the purchase.

I hesitated for a long time making this purchase. I kept giving myself every reason to not buy an expensive laptop. But it was worth every single penny. I LOVE my MacBook. The Touch ID is super cool. It starts up right away. Battery lasts FOREVER. And I LOVE the color. And the communication between the MacBook and iPhone is so cool. I can pull up whatever I’m looking up on one device on the other with ease. I’m so happy with my purchase.

First time buying a Mac computer and I must say I am very impressed with this new m1 chip model. Battery life is excellent and will get you through majority of the day depending on your tasks but for the average use it will handle them no problem with some battery left over. Portability is also a huge benefit out of the Air model you can take just about anywhere without it taking up much space in your backpack.

This is the second one I've purchased now, and thanks to my Total Tech membership it includes AppleCare! Nothing wrong with the first one, I just needed another. The battery lasts me days without having to charge, and weighs absolutely nothing. I love it!

I own two Mac Airs. One from 2014 and this one. I would like to compare the two because I feel there are some features on the older version that are more desirable. 1. The Battery The new Mac battery lasts forever and charges quickly with a USB-C port. I favor the older magnetic charger but that's a small thing. 2. Display The new display is very clear however, the screen extends to the very edge of the device similar to the iPhone. So if you drop this device you're screwed. I dropped my 2014 and it dented the edge of the screen but didn't break the glass because of the extra aluminum edge. I don't think the new Mac screen would survive this.3. The web camThe 2014 is very dark for some reason. The new Mac seems to have fixed this issue with a nice and clear video. 4. USB ports The 2014 has 2 USB-A ports, a lighting connection port, phone jack and an SDXC card slotThe new Mac only has two USB- C ports and a headphone jack! so you need a number of adapters to connect anything which is quite annoying especially since my wireless mouse uses an old USB-A Apple only sells limited adapters so you need to buy PC adapters which I'm not crazy about. However I have a dual USB-A adapter from Dell that works great 5. The ChipThe M1 chip is lighting fast. Even though my 2014 has an 1.4 Ghz dual core 15, it doesn't compare.6. The famous logolt's another little thing but, I liked the illuminated apple logo on the back of the 2014. Maybe its no longer there to extend battery life? Idk but I thought it was a nice feature that separated apple from the rest.
