I recently purchased a MacBook laptop, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. From its sleek design to its powerful performance, I love every aspect of it. I don't tend to use Apple products outside of Apple TV and iPad Pros. I have had MacBooks provided by my employers in the past so I'm at least able to navigate MacOS OK, but I wanted something to really experiment with without worrying about ruining company equipment. I'm used to using heavier gaming laptops with larger screens, so this feels almost like a toy. It's incredibly light, has what I would consider insane battery life and is... fine. I've been looking around for apps or uses that Macs are outstanding at (and yes, I realize it's an Air and not a Pro) but so far the only application I've used where it noticeable outperforms any of my Windows laptops is with Ableton Live 11. There is no noticeable lag using my MIDI keyboards and controllers, where with my Windows laptops it's not possible to record live without turning off the speakers because the lag is so bad. The interoperability with my iPad Pro is pretty impressive. I haven't really dug into what's possible yet, but have used my iPad as a second display and the setup is simple and seamless. I'm still trying to dig into use cases for this MacBook vs my windows laptops and there aren't many. It's not capable of being a primary gaming system, though it can easily handle some of the less intensive Mac-compatible games I have on Steam. I may be using it as my primary music recording/producing system going forward, though. And it's so light and capable enough that I can easily see using this first when I go on vacation or just want a laptop with me to use at a cafe or wherever. I suspect my initial rating may change with more use and my limited experience with Macs in general makes it difficult for me to evaluate the M1 chip. Bottom line, I'd say if portability is your highest priority and you don't need high performance for gaming or intensive creative work, it's pretty decent. Though you could probably get by with a Windows laptop for half the price for general computing.

The MacBook Air 13.3 with the M1 chip is a real game-changer. It’s powerful enough to handle all my apps without any lag, and it stays completely silent because there’s no fan. The battery life is amazing too—easily lasting a full day, which means I don’t have to keep hunting for a charger. Plus, the display is sharp and bright, making it great for watching videos or getting work done.

I've owned a dozen or so Macbooks in my life and they just keep getting better. This is a solid machine. Speedy, compact, designed extremely well. The M1 chip is spectacular. Great battery life and for the apps that are built to support it, amazing fast.

I bought this mostly on a whim, as I was thinking of downsizing from my Dell G5SE as my daily carry. I was pleasantly surprised. This is so much lighter, and the battery life is amazing. The screen is bright and clear. The sound is pretty incredible for the size of this chassis. It handles everything quickly that I have thrown at it thus far. USB-C only takes a little getting used to, but not a deal breaker. If you're looking for something lighter than a MacBook Pro that is in the Apple ecosystem, this is the one. Well, I say that as they just announced the 15" model. I didn't think the "Air" models could do much. I was wrong.

This little "entry level" Macbook has effectively been a full recording studio for me for the last several months or so and, while there are certain things you have to work around like the 8GBs of RAM and the incredibly small 256GB storage, it has been almost completely trouble-free. Very portable, very powerful, only thing I would change would be that next time I will get a larger display. It hasn't had any real issues with Logic, plug-ins, web surfing, video editing, or any of the other things people typically buy a Mac for. I love this thing and will likely upgrade to a newer Macbook Air within the next year. That being said, for being 5 years old, this thing is fast and keeps up well with the projects I'm working on.

So, when it comes to MacBooks, I gotta say, they're pretty awesome. I've been using one for a while now, and it's been a game-changer. Although purchasing this M1 Macbook Air 3 years from its release, this is indeed still very good for what it is. It has the Touch ID, great keyboard, fast for its specs, great screen, and I actually like the old Macbook Air design. Since this will be the last generation, I am glad to have purchased it knowing it will last a very long time. Although I wish I could have more SSD storage, I also know how to minimize space on the SSD and utilize cloud storage. Very light and portable and great battery life. Highly recommended and you should wait until deals come out. You can get it for $749! It's a steal for that price.

I purchased the M1 MacBook Air a month ago. I had a few issues getting multiple monitors working on it, but it didn't take long to do some reading online and figure it out. I love how light it is and how long the battery lasts. I know there are M2 versions out now, but this laptop is plenty fast. I primarily used Windows machines in the past, so I was a little nervous about finding programs to do the things I want to do. So far that hasn't been an issue. My old Windows laptop is sitting in the closet now. if you have other Apple products, everything just works together. I love how the passwords I have in my keychain on my phone and tablet are now on my computer too.

I love my laptop! It’s so light and so fast! My only issue was it has some small scratches on the top right out of the box. But other then that it has worked great… I have never owned a Mac book and am loving it so far!

Amazing product. It has a very impressive battery life and it is very fast! I am relieved I don’t have to worry about my laptop heating up and the fan sounding like it’s about to take off. Lol

This laptop was extremely lightweight, easy to use and battery felt like it lasted a long while. Used for pic and video editing. Great performance. Would recommend even in 2025!

Was an Apple iPhone user for 8 years before moving from PC to MacBook Air. It was difficult to make the decision because I’ve been a PC user since forever, and I was afraid I would lose so many files, photos, passwords, all the things.! Not to mention the amount of money it would cost. Best decision ever! I was able to move everything from my HP laptop to OneDrive and then have it transferred to the desktop of my MacBook Air. The MacBook Air is so light and silent. Seriously, the is no fan running like on a laptop. After watching a couple of tutorials I have been able to learn how to use Sheets and Pages which is like Excel and PowerPoint. They come standard. No need to pay MS for these programs! This MacBook should pay for itself over the next couple of years. Battery life is outstanding and the display is so clear and bright
