Excellent laptop, it’s super cute, very light, easy & smooth to work with, small & still fast & powerfully, so far I’m using it with no issues!!! I use Apple products, it was so easy for me to link everything together!!! I love it!!!

Amazing computer. Fast, lightweight, and great speakers too. I was thrilled with the Best Buy student discount which, for a brief time in August, was a far better deal than Apple’s own education store. No complaints.

Very snappy laptop with the new M1 chip - I can have 20+ tabs opened in my browser without feeling any slowdown at all. Battery life is also very impressive - I can leave the laptop unplugged and it literally does last 10 hours with general use - none of my Windows laptops can last that long. The only downside that I've experienced so far is that bluetooth connection with my mouse would freeze for a few seconds every once in a while - I've tried two bluetooth mouses already and they both exhibited the same symptoms, but I don't have that problem when connecting the same mouses to my other Windows laptop via bluetooth. Not sure if this is a known issue with the MBA's or if it's just my laptop. Apart from this nuisance, I'm very happy with this laptop.

It's everything I expect from a laptop. Plus it gives me all of that with zero fan noise (because there's no fan). Every app opens instantly, the display is awesome, and the battery life is the best around best computer ever.

The latest M1 MacBooks have been out for a while and I just barely got to buying one. First off, battery life is amazing. I can do web browsing for a long time, then fire up some Apple Arcade and close the laptop, then leave it for a day and when I open it it’s at like 60%. Really good. App compatibility is great too. More developers are compiling for ARM64 but for those who haven’t, Rosetta 2 translates the x86_64 apps for great performance and compatibility on M1. Speakers are good, better than most any windows laptop. Clear sound with good highs and mids, but lackluster bass. Overall good. The display is great, coming in at a ‘Retina’ resolution and having 400 nits of brightness and very good coverage of DCI-P3 and sRGB if you care about color accuracy. Basically if you don’t know what those mean, this display will show lifelike and impressive colors without overdoing it and looking cheap. Performance is good, the M1 performs very well compared to the best low power mobile cpus from Intel. This thing will run nearly anything with good performance. It chews through video and photo editing like it’s nothing. Sustained performance over long periods though is the sore point of this machine. I had this MacBook Air for about two weeks before I ended up returning it because of this. Under sustained heavy loads like long compiles, this thing will throttle hard. Literally halved performance. The issue is that this machine has no fan, which is fine for casual and medium use, but not so fine for heavy use. I ended up getting a MacBook Pro instead since it has better cooling and thus better performance over long periods. Basically, good laptop if you don’t do heavy use. It’ll fly through schoolwork, YouTube, light games on the App Store, etc while having long battery life.

Had a dell laptop. Got an iPhone in 2020 and then got the iPad and MacBook this year. The MacBook is so fast compared to my dell laptop. It’s cleaner and sleeker and not so heavy.

The battery life is impressive (easily a full day of work without charging), and it's incredibly fast even though it's the base model, doesn't even slow down a bit with an external display. My regular work includes office software, multiple tabs on Safari and some light image processing. Was concerned with having the new M1 processors, but most common apps are already updated so I haven't even seen Rosetta Stone pop up yet, though I read even that is not a big deal. It's a bit annoying having to use adapters for everything, but they're not very expensive anymore so it's not a big deal. The color finish is beautiful and it really stands out.

I would give this machine a 5 star GREAT rating if it just had more memory. 8 GB? C'mon man, I need 16GB but that requires a special order from Apple. So, I got what I got and honestly... it is really really GOOD! Fast, light, reliable... awesome!

Great laptop, zero noise, zero heat, loooong battery. No concerns with 8GB and doing multiple tasks. Storage could be larger, but can also just plug an external disk.
