It is a fast, light, reliable laptop, to have an "old" processor, the M1 is more than enough for your daily tasks, very good performance and excellent battery life, a very good option to not spend so much, anxious to get the most out of it!!! works perfectly with the Apple ecosystem is the perfect complement to your daily work

This MacBook Air with the M1 chip is an incredible performer. Super portable due to its size and weight. Outstanding display quality and incredible battery life. The only knock is the lack of ports. Only 2 USB C/Thunderbolt 4 ports and one will be consumed by the charger when plugged in. You can remedy this with a large choice of external dongles or hubs, but you really shouldn't have to purchase those additional accessories for a near $1000 laptop.

I’ve been using the 13.3" MacBook Air with the M1 chip and it’s been awesome. It’s super fast, even with a bunch of tabs and apps open. The battery lasts all day, which is a huge plus. It’s really light and easy to carry around, and the screen looks great. For everyday stuff like browsing, streaming, and work, it handles everything easily. Definitely a great laptop for the price.

I purchased this to use for recording music, and I have to say it's been excellent! The laptop is super fast, had plenty of storage, the picture quality is stunning for a lower end model, and it does everything I need it to do and more! The only thing it is lacking is more USB connectivity; however this can easily be accomplished with a USB hub. The battery life always amazes me, I have never owned a laptop that will go this long between charges (typically a few days with moderate us (using a DAW for recording music). I absolutely LOVE this MacBook Air!!

After using the MacBook Air for a year, I’m extremely satisfied with its performance. The M1 chip delivers fast, efficient processing for everyday tasks, and the battery life is outstanding, often lasting a full day on a single charge. Its sleek, lightweight design is perfect for portability, and the Retina display is sharp and vibrant. The Magic Keyboard and responsive trackpad make it a pleasure to use. While the port selection is limited and the webcam could be better, these minor drawbacks don’t overshadow its excellent overall value as a reliable, everyday laptop

Great laptop if you can get a deal on it
If it was full price for a 2020 model, with 8gb of ram, and a 256 SSD, this laptop wouldn't have been in consideration in my search. Best Buy had a great deal on it a month ago. I am already in the "Apple Eco-System" so toggling things between my iPad, phone, and MacBook is seamless and fast, just convenience. The 8gb of ram sounds like a joke in 2023 but if you're just doing some basic tasks, ie; a few safari tabs, notes open, test taking, etc, its not going to slow down, its enough since the OS is great at being efficient with that kind of stuff. The soldered on SSD was also concerning but again if you're not a power user downloading a lot of large files I'm sure it'll last a long time. The battery life is great, I have no issue getting a few days out of it. Build quality is also the greatest I have felt personally and while the keyboard is different that anything I've used in the past (mechanical, brown switches) after a month of use I started to like it a lot. Some other small things I've noticed, its VERY thin, not too heavy in a backpack, speakers are loud and sound great, the screen gets fairly bright and is nice to look at, trackpad hasn't been an issue when using different gestures, touch ID hasnt failed me yet, webcam quality and mic are average.
If you can get a deal on it and if you're a casual user like myself, I would recommend it all day. I'm in flight school just using it for basic tasks and it does everything that I need it too very well. The only gripe I've had is the 2 USB-C ports, I guess its something you sacrifice with the form factor. Personally I would've given up a few millimeters of its profile and thinness to get some more ports and ease of use. Keep in mind one is used for charging so you only have 1 open port if that time comes

Really enjoying this computer and all it has to offer. Have had 2 different pc laptops in the last 10 years touted as "high capacity" but were just were not up to par on some of the task I use them for including pictures, docs, spread sheets, etc Took forever to load, run. etc. This MACBook Air with the Apple M1 chip..WOW. Amazing. Fast, holds a lot of data, battery life is astounding. Delivered quickly and set up was a breeze and user friendly. Also love the lightweight feel.

This MacBook Air is the perfect laptop at the ideal price point for everyday tasks (web browsing, email, Office worksheets) and portability. The newish M1 chip gives the Air power and a quick, responsive feel. It also makes the battery more efficient and last longer. The Retina screen is bright and crisp, although a step down from the MacBook Pro's new mini-LED.
The rumor is that Apple will release a newly redesigned Air with a new processor in the first half of 2022. But I needed a secondary work laptop now for portability and travel, and this Air is ideal. I also picked it up on sale and got a great deal from Best Buy. This checked all the boxes -- light, powerful, long battery life, high screen resolution and, of course, price.

I got this computer when it was $799.99, and at that price, it was a good deal. I easily get at least 6hrs of use from it , and the M1 still keeps up with my workload. Only thing i dont like about it is the lack of ports, only has 2 usb c ports and a headphone jack, but this is the air, so it is fine.

As an android, and windows PC user who is in a relationship with an apple girl, It pained me to purchase this for my girlfriend for her birthday.
The excitement she had quickly overshadowed any of my biased opinions.
Once the unboxing happened, she was still in shock. I started to check it out a bit, and was completely blown away by the quality of this laptop. Its insanely thin, the screen was vibrant in color, and it doesnt even sound or feel like its on.
I picked it up, put it to my ear to see if I could hear ANY noise at all, and nope. Only the calming, soothing sound of an apple orchard. (The thing is silent, literally)
Performance wise, I'm upset that I have lived my life so narrow minded - and never bought one for myself. Will it run like my $4k gaming setup? No, but can she do literally everything she would ever need to on a computer? Absolutely. (And yes, I watched review videos that did show people gaming on it, whatever)
If I ever choose to buy a laptop for myself, and I can't believe I'm saying this... I'd buy another Mac.
TL/DR - Why would you buy any other laptop? This thing is perfect.

I liked it much more than i thought i would. The main appeal is the light weight, screen quality and long battery life. All things my gaming pc could never provide. I at first was annoyed with usb type c but the brightside is only having to carry one charger for my android phone and computer and dslr is pretty incredible.
For its size and capacity i am amazed at how well this handles photoshop and steam. Its not going to change the world or make me abandon my gaming desktop but when tight on storage this is amazing.
The down side is the m1. It's a gift and a curse. Benefit is speed and battery with no heat production. It's whisper quiet.
The bad is the architecture.. all Mac apps in the last year were designed with Intel in mind so prepare to have to do without due to compatibility issues or suffer through Performance issues.
All in all i picked this up during tax free weekend and with a student discount so at that price i am very satisfied with my purchase. The low storage space and incompatibility issues knock down what would otherwise be a perfect score. Apple overcharges for upgrades that would cost an extra 50 bucks on a windows pc and it's time for backlash. It really alienates their customers and drives away enthusiasts but that's in the eye of the beholder

The 8GB RAM on this MacBook performs as robustly as 16GB on a Windows system. The efficiency of the Mac processor coupled with its sleek design is remarkable. Its lightweight build makes it effortlessly portable and ensures easy cooling, while its durability and top-notch construction stand out.
Remarkably lightweight, this laptop's portability is matched only by its excellent cooling capacity and top-tier durability. In comparison analysis against similarly priced laptops, the MacBook outperforms, boasting 20% faster processing speed and 30% better cooling efficiency.
This laptop is an absolute recommendation for developers, designers, and everyday home users alike. I found it exceptional. Even if you have a budget of around $600-700, I strongly advise considering the slight stretch to invest an additional $200 for this outstanding product. It's truly worth it

Not very bad in general. The built is good. Battery is what M1 claims. It lasts very long time. The Macbook Air has a premium touch. I like the hardware a lot. Offering very good daily driver machine: light weight, high performance, long lasting battery and very nice looking.
And that's it. The Operating System (iOS) is very bad... Honestly. I think for people who are using Apple from their day one, it is ok since they don't know what other OS providers can offer. I use Windows, Linux (Mint), ChromeOS and iOS for long enough... I honestly like the Linux Mint the most, next the Chrome OS, and Apple iOS is in the same position with Microsoft (win11). I may try to install Linux on my MacBook air. Maybe.
Do I recommend? Maybe. Some people know only iOS. It integrates well with all Apple products. Which is very good.

**I bought this in store, so I'm not going to show as a verified buyer.**
I've used MacBooks in the past; I own an iMac 21.5", AirPods, Apple TV, iPad and iPhone and have been using a w10 laptop for gaming and general use. I had some extra spending money and decided to finally get a MacBook Air, and I'm not disappointed! I've used them in the past, but this is a major improvement from the last I've used. I went with the rose gold mainly because it matches my iPad and honestly, I didn't want to spend 1,300 for another desktop. I wanted this mostly for when I'm out/travel. My only requirements are a good laptop that's fast, loads quickly and is close to what I use on a daily basis. I recently bought an 8TB external drive (tl;dr - my 8 year old external died and I lost all my games for windows which is why I got it), and if space is an issue (I went with the 256 HDD) I'll most likely use that. The Touch ID is going to be incredibly useful and I'm a fan already of the lack of a power button. is it comparable to the 16" MBP? Probably not. That's not what I was looking for. If it was my primary computer I would have considered it, but it's not. It's what I need when I'm away from home. I don't edit photos/video too much, and I don't require as much space as possible. But something I can listen to my music on, stream twitch or YouTube, and have a laptop that's not running into issues more times than it doesn't. it fits my needs, and that's exactly what I got it for. And really, you can't go wrong getting a MacBook for less than $1,100. So 10/10 would definitely buy again.
I'll add more photos in the next few days. For now, here's a closeup of the (improved?) MacBook Air logo.
