The extra SSD space is a must-have. Especially if you have a lot of documents and files (even if you use iCloud, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc). 8Gb of memory is more than enough for most uses, but storage really is a necessity. Especially if you want music or video offline for when you travel. I do think the MacBook Air is better than the Pro for most users. You get great battery life, no fan, and the best portability in a laptop.

This MacBook Air was the way to go for us since the HDD/SSD storage is not upgradeable later and we just wanted more onboard storage. Coming from an older MacBookPro we found this an easy computer to move into and it is already performing well. With one of those USB-C adapters, we can connect regular USB, HDMI, and other accessories. If you don't need the touch bar feature, there isn't much need for a MacBookPro if portability is a priority.

I think all the reviews are almost spot on. + The best battery life I have seen in a laptop. + Great Mac screen + for basic video editing very efficient and quick + very smooth OS However, as a long-time windows user coming over after all the reviews here are some points to note; - still buggy, Mac is not a perfect OS and still has occasional lags and software glitches which can be annoying - external monitor support is surprisingly terrible. I have had to install a number of additional applications to enable native display on 4k monitors and even then it is not the smoothest - 8 gb is very well utilized but if you're like me and leave your computer on with a bunch of apps open and go back and forth you'll notice some slowing down after a while - if you use Citrix for work apps, it is generally smooth but quite buggy I think the M1 chip is still in infancy and has great potential

Switched over to this for the power and battery life. Was not disappointed. Been using Windows devices for years and was not a big fan of Apple devices. The M1 change over made me re-think that decision. This thing has been absolutely amazing. The reason I like this over a Windows device for myself is that being plugged in or not has no baring on the power the device is capable of. I can easily get 16+ hours between charges of constant use. And one day during heavy video conversions I was able to log faster completion times than I was able to do with my gaming laptop. All while using only 60% of the battery over 4 hours. Very happy with the product and recommend it to everyone debating making the switch.

I could not be happier with this laptop. It is quick, user friendly (this is my first Mac and I have had no trouble figuring it out), full of great features, and all around awesome. The display is beautiful. I have already used it to make a photo calendar, and it was quicker and simpler than with my pc. I love watching show on it. The display and sound are great. Highly recommend. I understand why people love their Macs so much.

Best laptop value around. Unbelievable performance. Have a ton of computers, but for the price this cannot be beat. Battery life and speed has no rival. And yes PC it is faster than 90% of Laptops out there…Apples claim was actual computers in the wild. Being that most Windows laptop PCs are not high end gaming machines and run of the mill sub 1000 buck integrated graphics ones. The M1 Apples can easily make this claim stand. Love it!

The M1 Macbooks were my first step into the Mac ecosystem, and the laptop itself is easily the best I've used. The speed of the computer is unreal and makes me forget that it only has 8 GB of RAM. The experience of this laptop has been extremely convenient and easy to switch over to from prior laptops. The only issue (and it is a big one) is that download speeds can be extremely long. I'm not sure if this is an issue with just mine, but documents and assignments take much longer to download in comparison to even my phone. I have yet to test it with an ethernet cable, but long download times are something you may need to be wary of when buying this laptop. Other than that issue, however, the laptop has been extremely light and capable, and it fits all the needs to help me be productive in college.

This macbook is very nice to use. I primarily use it to program Rust with vs code and I use my ipad as a second screen. I did a quick speed test against my 5950X and in single thread tasks, it is a bit quicker. I did manage to lag it out once. I had a youtube running while installing xcode and running a python program in the background. Overall I would say this is a great laptop! It doesn't get hot like my old razer.

My new MacBook Air 13.3' Laptop is great! I upgraded from a 2014. First, I absolutely love the Touch ID!!!! It safes so much time! Secondly, the security that this MacAir provides was huge in my decision to upgrade & purchase. Lastly, the Retina display, the longer battery, the quick keyboard response & ease of transport played also in my decision to purchase. AND Best Buy has always been a great place to shop!
