This is the perfect size laptop for school or anything else really. It’s very easy to navigate and adjust to if you’re use to Microsoft computers. You can still download Microsoft word and PowerPoint if you need to use them. Only down fall is it only pretty much just has the power cord port and a head phone port, so you have to buy an adapter to connect a USB or HDMI to the laptop. This is already an expensive laptop so it a little annoying that you have to buy another piece. It is really fast though and has tons of memory. I love the fingerprint touch to unlock the computer and to log in to certain things, it’s very convenient. The battery normally lasts me 3 days before I have to charge it again and it charges back up really fast. The keyboard is very comfortable and this laptop is overall much worth the price!

Would recommend this computer to everyone. Easy to use and was a game changer. I’m not very good with computers especially when going back to college and completing my studies online only. The MacBook Air was great in staying charged for so long without turning off. Great for multiple opened widows. I used this computer as a personal assistant was great for planning and much more list goes on.

This is by far the greatest laptop I have ever used. This laptop's CPU is so good that there is no need for fans to cool it, so you don't have to worry about it being loud or getting too hot. It is very fast and very powerful.

If you are a student or just need a new computer for home or work & need it to last...you're done shopping. Great choice in the MacBook series. M1 is a powerful chip, and this design strikes a great balance between being compact and just large enough for most workflows. Where this shines is battery life. I get almost a week on a single charge with daily usage. Gone are the days of lugging a charger around wherever my computer goes. Also love how quiet this thing is. Since it takes very little power, it doesn't get warm, and doesn't need fans. I haven't found it to get very warm and have no worries of overheating. 0 regrets getting the Air over the Pro. The display is gorgeous. The keyboard has been drastically upgraded from the previous Air models. The track pad above par. The speakers are also loud and crisp. There is less bass on the Air speakers than the Pro. But if you're like me, you use bluetooth speakers or buds so...whatever.

Great upgrade with all the benefits of integrating as much or as little of the eco structure from one’s iPhone in a manner similar to adding a Apple Watch and determining how much of your phone apps does one desire to experience while wearing same. Will take a while to get used to the keyboard and will probably need to fine tune size of font for email creation and reading same. Still most everything is intuitive to being an Apple user. Setting up Touch ID yet to go smoothly and having to figure out what finger digit to use multiple times on the keypad and then going through that process is not comfortable...probably all in me, but....once complete will save having to use a PWord. Battery drain appears to be quite low and look forward to running it for long periods of time without being plugged into an outlet.

Absolutely love it and worth the money. I spent around 4 hours to decide either with regular air or air pro. As a regular person who’s not into games or photoshop/video editing, didn’t really see any huge differences between these laptops. The regular air had enough specs for my daily use and possibly use it more towards editing program. I also installed a game program X-Plane, and had no lags or any issues to run it. Was crispy clean. Excellent battery life…

I'm coming into the M1 Mac game a little late. I waited until this year to pick up a new MacBook Air (MBA) with Apple's M1 chip. I opted for the 512GB model because I wanted to store more downloaded movies and music. I'm not going to get into macOS, that is a solid OS that I like. I enjoy how integrated macOS with my iPhone, iPad, and content across everything. What I will go into is the design and performance of the M1 MBA. First off, it is worth paying for the extra 512GB of storage. Apple should start the MBA at 512GB but here we are. I'm able to store over 50 movies (at 1080p or 4K) and some music playlists without getting close to filling up the space. The design of the MBA is the same as it's been for a while. It's dated and has been cloned to death. The system is carved out of a single piece of aluminum and it's solid, I just wish Apple had updated these along with the internal. The screen is the same, the keyboard is improved, the trackpad is the same, the two USB-C ports are now USB4 and not just Thunderbolt 3, everything is pretty much the same except for what's inside. 2022 should bring a redesign of the MBA, I will probably sell this one off once that happens. The only thing to really talk about with this unit is the M1 SoC. You may scoff at the 8GB of RAM but it is more than enough for the majority of people. The M1 is a solid SoC offering an improvement over the previous Intel chips, both in the CPU and integrated graphics, while drastically increasing efficiency. The MBA can export a color-graded 4K video faster than real time unless you use ProRes. Even then it's faster than similar 11th and 12th gen Intel chips. I've edited photos, videos, and websites on my MBA without issues. The M1 doesn't stutter and completes everything faster than my previous notebook that had a faster clocked 11th gen Core i7 with 16GB of RAM. Apps open almost instantly, and everyday tasks are handled with ease. The pleasant thing about the M1 is that it doesn't require a cooling fan. The MBA is a quiet machine, unlike my previous notebook that would fire up its cooling fans when opening Edge/Chrome. The efficiency of the M1 is astounding. My system always instantly turns on when opening the lid, it has yet to discharge when in sleep mode (and I left it for two weeks without charging), and I'm easily getting 15+ hours of real-world usage. That's watching downloaded videos, streaming movies, working in Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), surfing the web in both Safari and Chrome, playing some of the Lego games through Steam, and listening to music. Apple has rated the MBA at 15 hours of web browsing and 18 hours of video playback, I think those numbers are a tad generous. So far, this is my favorite Mac notebook despite the M1 being a year old now and the MBA using a 5-year-old design. It's not as powerful as the new Pros and doesn't have the same quality screen but most people don't need a MacBook Pro. The baseline 14" MBP is only 20-30% faster than the MBA despite costing almost twice as much. Don't get the 13" MBP if you want something more powerful. It's the same hardware but adds a cooling fan and costs $300 more. That cooling fan isn't worth it, even for sustained workloads. You're better off getting a 14" MBP if you truly need the added performance. The only things the 13" MBP offer are the touch bar (which is being phased out anyways) and more battery life due to the thicker case. Stick with the 13" MBA. It's a bit thinner and easier to carry around, it's also nice having a silent system that still gets great battery life and can perform everyday tasks with ease while keeping up with offerings from Intel (without requiring the extra power).

Great laptop to use on the go. I currently use a custom hackintosh for when I am working in the office. I needed something that runs MacOS and ultra portable. Right now it checks all the boxes. Speed, performance and stability. Best Buy needs to carry the 16gb model of the laptop. Most customer will get by with only 8gb but 16gb should be an option that offer as well. One negative thing I can say about the laptop is the screen quality. I think they the resolution and brightness could really use some improvement. Especially compared to the iPad Pro display. Battery life is AMAZING. I have not charged the MacBook Air in days. Yes, days. And I still have 31% connected to a 27 in 4k monitor via usb-c to display port. Considering I got this laptop for $999 out the door. Great value.

    Simply Blown Away

So, let me start this by saying that I was super skeptical when I first heard about the new M1 chips being released by Apple. I figured like years past, this would be a minuscule upgrade, with nothing significantly different. But, after seeing some reviews on this where people were stating they were blown away with the amount of performance they were seeing, I had to give it a look. I am glad I did. I will preface this by stating that my journey to finding the "perfect" laptop has been a long one. I came from a 2015 MB Pro that I had for approx. 2 years before it died, upgraded to a 2017 MB Pro with Touch Bar which had been my daily driver for about 3 years. I have always been underwhelmed with the 2017 MB Pro's performance as it always froze up opening the most basic task, and you could forget about photo or video editing. Not exactly living up to the "Pro" in the name. So, when looking for a new laptop I decided to give Windows a try. After returning a HP Spectre X360 for quality control issues, I settled on a Lenovo Yoga C940, but still found flaws: overheating, thermal throttling, crashing apps and terrible, terrible battery life. I ended up switching back to the MB Pro despite that its age is showing. I am stuck with a Lenovo that I cannot return. Buyer's remorse, indeed. Cut to a few days ago, I on a whim decided to give this MBA a try. I thought I would be "downgrading" by not getting a Pro, but I am a college student on a budget, and I had hopes that this computer would fit my needs and I wouldn't have to shell out the extra money for more performance. I am glad I opted for the MBA. I can see why the MBA is popular among college students: it's lightweight, fantastic battery life, and the "wedge" shape adds to a better, more ergonomic typing experience, which is important to me as I type essays and assignments very regularly. So, to get down to the nitty-gritty. Can it perhaps be my everyday, everything, every use-case computer? I can safely say yes. The performance on this blows my $1600 Lenovo with 16GB of Ram and Intel 10th gen i7 out of the water. I can have multiple Safari tabs going, iTunes in the background, Adobe Photoshop or Premeire Pro running at the same time and it doesn't even break a sweat. To say that I was blown away is an understatement. This little 8GB ram, 3.2 Ghz M1 MBA is making most higher-end workhorse computers look weak. Another thing I love? It's fanless! One of my biggest pet-peeves are laptops with terrible fan noise and poor heat management. On this, it is not an issue. No fan? No problem! Stays nice and cool, and no fan noise. IDK how Apple managed it. Also, the improved keyboard is a nice change from the butterfly keyboard issues my 2017 MB Pro was plagued with. I can actually type on this one and not feel like my fingers are hitting bottom. The speakers, for such a thin and light laptop, are fairly decent as well. Decent stereo separation and punchy. Could do with more bass. But again, small computer, small speaker drivers. To be expected. The screen is also good, covers my needs for photo and video editing with a good amount of color accuracy. No complaints. I cannot attest to the webcam as I don't use it, but I am sure it will do in a pinch. To sum up: great computer, great value. Unless you are editing videos 24/7, I would recommend this one over the new MB Pro. Save some $. This thing can handle anything you have to throw at it. I have a very demanding work-flow as a graphics design student and I am simply blown away. Would definitely not hesitate to recommend to anyone in the market for a new daily driver.

    Quality Apple Product and Laptop

This is my first MacBook purchase, but not my first Apple product. When looking for a new laptop I was planning to stick with Windows, however, I have an iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad and other miscellaneous Apple products, so why not switch to Apple. I have quite enjoyed this laptop. The screen is crisp and with minimal bezel. The touchpad is responsive, and I have gotten use to to having to fully click it in order to press on something. The keyboard's keys have enough travel that it does not make it uncomfortable nor cramp my fingers and can feel super satisfying. It is also nice to have a backlit keyboard, although for the price, the laptop should have a nice backlit keyboard. The computer can handle having multiple tabs open well without draining the battery or becoming overheated. Also, it handles light gaming; although with The Sims 4, with multiple expansions, the computer got hot soon and caused some worry (although there was minimal lag and problems). Battery life is also nice; I use the laptop mostly for video streaming, research, writing and light gaming, and I feel like I have to charge it maybe three times a week. Quite awesome. The laptop is also quite simple to use after you throw out everything you know about Windows computers. There are only a couple things in which bothered me. First is how to turn the backlit keyboard on, and adjust the brightness. I'm someone who likes to explore computer systems, but for some reason it took me a while to figure out where to find it. Maybe I am being picky, but I would have liked physical keys located on the keyboard rather than have to go through multiple steps on the screen. The second was the price point. Do not get me wrong, I know you pay for quality and this laptop feels like and performs like quality. However, for some higher end Windows computers at the same price point, you can get so much MORE: more ram, more memory, better processing speeds, better speakers... etc. Again, you are paying for a solid machine, with a strong name behind it, with quite a large ecosystem (closed but large, nonetheless), but I guess quality, battery life and longevity can over come the price point. Overall, I have enjoyed using this laptop and would get another Apple laptop in the future when necessary. Do I recommend? Yes, to someone who wants a quality laptop with a fabulous battery life to use for streaming, web surfing and word documents. The laptop is not for someone who wants to use it for gaming. (I do not do photo or video editing, so I can not speak that use.) Plus the laptop is beautiful, especially in Gold.

Really outstanding performance for the price. I recent "downgraded" to the new M1 Air from a 2016 MacBook Pro and honestly, this thing blows that old Intel model out of the water. The keyboard is a great typing experience, it's much lighter than I was expecting, and it never runs hot on me. Amazing screen resolution, crazy fast, and I only have to charge it once every couple of days with moderate/heavy usage.

Defining the Next Generation of Macs

By leveraging its own silicon, Apple has created an incredibly powerful ultra-portable laptop. I replaced my 2019 Intel MacBook Pro with this M1 MacBook Air and the performance of M1 MacBook Air obliterates that of the Intel MacBook. This MacBook Air is amazingly fast and responsive - I am even able to play games on reasonable settings that typically require a dedicated GPU - and with no fan needed for cooling! In addition to its power, the battery life is absolutely unreal. I was skeptical of Apple's decision to ditch Intel but, at least right now, it looks like they've made the right decision and it will be very interesting to see the progression of Macs with Apple silicon over the next several years. This amount of power at this price point is simply unheard of. Outside of these under the hood changes, you will find all of the things you already love about the MacBook Air - the lightweight iconic wedged design, the brilliant Retina display, and the sophisticated Mac OS operating system (further refined in its latest iteration dubbed Big Sur).

Love this MacBook Air!. One of the best features is the fingerprint (password) to get into the system. Fast! Long battery life. Love the rose color. Lightweight and portable. The downside...the usb is "C" so my USB printer won't connect to it. None of my other USB items will either.

Great laptop at a great price, Powerful. Lightweight, super compact. It is wedge shaped and gets thinner from back to front and top to bottom. I'm using it to make music, recording several tracks of guitar, bass, drums, synthesizers, etc., and the machine is a beast, super fast and the battery life is incredible, I would recommend this device to anyone needing either a work from a home computer, college students definitely, and of course professional workers who need something powerful and light.
