Like it thus far!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good! Working fast and efficiently. Beautiful color. Design is the same as the previous model but the inside feel of it is new. Such as slight enhancements to the apps icons in the main computer screen. Was worried about it heating since its fanless but no issues so far..I've used it for only about 2 days now. So let's hope it stays great! There were a few lags here and there but that was maybe because of my internet or idk? But I still like it currently. I use it for college work and also personal use. I also did some light video editing on it. (I'm not a pro yet) I wanted to get the 16gb ram but bestbuy didn't have the option to upgrade. So its ok as I've heard 8gb should be fine for the majority of users.

Where are the ports???
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new MacBook Air works great but the fact that it only has two ports is disappointing. No USB port! Only two ports that accommodate the charger or accessories you con purchase to use USB, HDMI or other ports. I wish it had been pointed out to me.

In love with my new MacBook Air
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.HEY! Its a MacBook Air M1 so you just cannot go wrong with it. I love it, its thin, quiet, and super powerful. BestBuy matched the Amazon price that was actually $50 cheaper without any problem. It came with Apple Arcade, Apple Music for free for 3 months

a Gold 8/512 M1 MBA gem!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.M1 MBA is a top notch performer, and a very noticeable upgrade over my 2017 intel MBA. the 512gb drive is just right for my needs at this time. The open box pickup experience was quite smooth, far better than I have had purchasing in store on occasions.

Never going back to Windows
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had a couple laptops over the years, but they never last more than a couple years without getting slow and glitchy. I needed a laptop because I’ll be working abroad for a year and wanted something reliable. I know Apple, Macs specifically, are made to last. I knew that in getting a MacBook I was also getting peace of mind that this laptop would do what I want, what I need and with no worries. Plus, I purchased the 3 year Apple Care plan so I know this will be a longtime winner.

A portable, powerful system with great battery
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm coming into the M1 Mac game a little late. I waited until this year to pick up a new MacBook Air (MBA) with Apple's M1 chip. I opted for the 512GB model because I wanted to store more downloaded movies and music. I'm not going to get into macOS, that is a solid OS that I like. I enjoy how integrated macOS with my iPhone, iPad, and content across everything. What I will go into is the design and performance of the M1 MBA. First off, it is worth paying for the extra 512GB of storage. Apple should start the MBA at 512GB but here we are. I'm able to store over 50 movies (at 1080p or 4K) and some music playlists without getting close to filling up the space. The design of the MBA is the same as it's been for a while. It's dated and has been cloned to death. The system is carved out of a single piece of aluminum and it's solid, I just wish Apple had updated these along with the internal. The screen is the same, the keyboard is improved, the trackpad is the same, the two USB-C ports are now USB4 and not just Thunderbolt 3, everything is pretty much the same except for what's inside. 2022 should bring a redesign of the MBA, I will probably sell this one off once that happens. The only thing to really talk about with this unit is the M1 SoC. You may scoff at the 8GB of RAM but it is more than enough for the majority of people. The M1 is a solid SoC offering an improvement over the previous Intel chips, both in the CPU and integrated graphics, while drastically increasing efficiency. The MBA can export a color-graded 4K video faster than real time unless you use ProRes. Even then it's faster than similar 11th and 12th gen Intel chips. I've edited photos, videos, and websites on my MBA without issues. The M1 doesn't stutter and completes everything faster than my previous notebook that had a faster clocked 11th gen Core i7 with 16GB of RAM. Apps open almost instantly, and everyday tasks are handled with ease. The pleasant thing about the M1 is that it doesn't require a cooling fan. The MBA is a quiet machine, unlike my previous notebook that would fire up its cooling fans when opening Edge/Chrome. The efficiency of the M1 is astounding. My system always instantly turns on when opening the lid, it has yet to discharge when in sleep mode (and I left it for two weeks without charging), and I'm easily getting 15+ hours of real-world usage. That's watching downloaded videos, streaming movies, working in Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), surfing the web in both Safari and Chrome, playing some of the Lego games through Steam, and listening to music. Apple has rated the MBA at 15 hours of web browsing and 18 hours of video playback, I think those numbers are a tad generous. So far, this is my favorite Mac notebook despite the M1 being a year old now and the MBA using a 5-year-old design. It's not as powerful as the new Pros and doesn't have the same quality screen but most people don't need a MacBook Pro. The baseline 14" MBP is only 20-30% faster than the MBA despite costing almost twice as much. Don't get the 13" MBP if you want something more powerful. It's the same hardware but adds a cooling fan and costs $300 more. That cooling fan isn't worth it, even for sustained workloads. You're better off getting a 14" MBP if you truly need the added performance. The only things the 13" MBP offer are the touch bar (which is being phased out anyways) and more battery life due to the thicker case. Stick with the 13" MBA. It's a bit thinner and easier to carry around, it's also nice having a silent system that still gets great battery life and can perform everyday tasks with ease while keeping up with offerings from Intel (without requiring the extra power).

Awesome Portable Power Horse
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop to use on the go. I currently use a custom hackintosh for when I am working in the office. I needed something that runs MacOS and ultra portable. Right now it checks all the boxes. Speed, performance and stability. Best Buy needs to carry the 16gb model of the laptop. Most customer will get by with only 8gb but 16gb should be an option that offer as well. One negative thing I can say about the laptop is the screen quality. I think they the resolution and brightness could really use some improvement. Especially compared to the iPad Pro display. Battery life is AMAZING. I have not charged the MacBook Air in days. Yes, days. And I still have 31% connected to a 27 in 4k monitor via usb-c to display port. Considering I got this laptop for $999 out the door. Great value.

Fast, Efficient, and Capable!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new laptop and decided to wait to invest in an M1 MacBook and this 13" Air provided everything that I needed. This not my first Apple computer or product but it is my first Apple laptop. Performance is great and the design is everything Apple is known for. I'm not a gamer nor a 'heavy-process-user' (yet!) so I can't speak to the capability of this device in that regard but I'm sure that it could handle much more than I will ask of it. Other reviewers have been impressed with its performance (regarding gaming and video-editing). Lightweight (compared to my former laptops), small foot-print, aesthetically pleasing, great speakers for a laptop this size, impressive specs, and outstanding performance. I'm being VERY 'picky' when I say that my ONLY negative observation that I have to offer is that the display is not quite as bright (as more expensive versions) in very bright surroundings, but it is MORE than adequate under normal conditions - especially considering what you're getting for the modest price of this Apple device. (My comment regarding the screen brightness may be being influenced by the 5k Retina display on my 2017 27" iMac display, which is just brilliant!) I love this laptop!! I have enjoyed it so much that I bought my daughter one, as well!

Editing Excellence with Apple's M1 Chip
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When it comes to editing low-production-quality videos, the laptop I found to be the most impressive companion is the one powered by Apple's M1 chip. In my experience, using Final Cut Pro on this machine has been an absolute delight. It has not only met but exceeded my expectations, allowing me to craft amazing videos for both clients and my personal creative endeavors. The standout feature of this laptop is undeniably the M1 chip. Its performance is nothing short of remarkable. It handles video editing tasks with such grace and efficiency that it genuinely feels like the laptop is punching above its weight class. For editing in 1080p, it's a dream come true. Transitions are seamless, rendering is blazing fast, and the overall editing process is incredibly smooth. You'll find yourself working through your projects effortlessly. However, where I did experience a bit of a hiccup was when attempting to edit 4K footage. The laptop did struggle a bit, especially with more complex projects. While it's still possible to edit 4K videos, it's not as buttery-smooth as working with 1080p content. It's essential to keep this in mind if 4K editing is a significant part of your workflow. But for those primarily working with 1080p videos, you'll find this laptop to be more than capable of handling the task. I wholeheartedly recommend this laptop for video editing enthusiasts. Its M1 chip delivers exceptional performance, particularly for 1080p editing tasks, and it has become an invaluable tool for my video production needs. Just be mindful of its limitations when dealing with 4K footage. If you can work within those parameters, you'll undoubtedly be satisfied with the punching power this laptop brings to your editing projects.

M1 macbook air
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.MacBook Air performs like a pro-level laptop. It never groans under multiple apps. (I’ve run well over a dozen at a time.) It handles intensive apps like Photoshop and even video editing apps like Adobe Premiere without complaint. It has never made me think twice about loading up another browser tab or 10 — even in Chrome.

Blown Away
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really outstanding performance for the price. I recent "downgraded" to the new M1 Air from a 2016 MacBook Pro and honestly, this thing blows that old Intel model out of the water. The keyboard is a great typing experience, it's much lighter than I was expecting, and it never runs hot on me. Amazing screen resolution, crazy fast, and I only have to charge it once every couple of days with moderate/heavy usage.

Never buy anything but Mac again
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will never buy another windows os again. Fast, light, powerful and beautiful. Apple never lets me down. I love ios and how easy it is to use. The M1 chip is amazing. That’s why I never mind paying a premium price for any Apple product. Not because I like paying for the name but because you get what you pay for with Apple. A great well designed product.

One of the best laptops ever made.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Without question, this is one of the best laptops ever made. It has an amazing feel, super-fast, visually stunning, no fan, and even though I've had a bunch of programs open the laptop does not get hot. BigSur is exceptional as well. Safari is unbelievably fast and fun to use. And I do appreciate the focus on privacy and security. Great job Apple!

Form Factor, Weight, Speed
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My family has had many MacBooks over this year and this replaces a 2015 MacBook Pro which my son uses now. This MacBook Air ticks all the boxes for me in terms of form factor, weight and performance. Best Buy was offering a great deal on the 8 core, 8GB/512GB model and for my use case this was a much better value than opting for the new MacBook Air - I also like the old wedge shape. I do miss the variety of ports available on my old MacBook Pro, but that ship has sailed and there are relatively inexpensive options to rectify that.
