Yay
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop, nervous about an open box item, but this laptop arrived brand new! I couldn't see any imperfections and it functions properly with no issues. I would never buy one full priced again. This was so worth it, apple products always look sleek and have great color in their screens.

Display issues… AGAIN
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Owned a 2016 MacBook Air that had display issues from the get-go, but Apple said it might be okay if I was super careful handling it. I couldn’t go without a laptop for 2 weeks so decided to risk it. After a couple yrs of being super careful the display became distorted after just a slight bump, and after the warranty period of course. Used it hooked up to the TV only for about a year, but as that was difficult in itself (overheating, prevented sleep function, etc), had to change course. Didn’t wanna pay $550 for a new display, so… … bought the M1 2020 MacBook Air instead. Seemed to be operating well until 8 months in, when I wasn’t even anywhere near it and the display went totally out. Wouldn’t turn on after repeated powering down so called Apple. They had me power on with that shift-control for 10 secs and it went on again. However, considering my experience with my last laptop took no chances and brought it in to Apple. They ran diagnostics and found that the ambient light sensor wasn’t working. That’s what automatically dims and brightens the screen when going into dark or bright places, in case you, like I, didn’t really know what it did. Had never dropped this or mishandled it in any way. Sent in my laptop for repair and it’s now been more than a week without and they’re still “diagnosing” it. Luckily my old laptop is still semi-functional if I hook it up to my TV. And I still had a few months left in the warranty. But what if it didn’t and I didn’t have the old one still functional? Two times in a row MacBook Air with serious display issues in the last 5 yrs, with no accidental damage from me. Aside from this, has superior speed and processing power, doesn’t overheat, but still takes 20-30 sec to power up and the touchpad functionality and the feel of both it and the keyboard are terrible when compared to the 2012 I used to have. If you buy an Apple laptop now Apple care plus is almost mandatory. Will have to seriously consider going back to Windows for my next laptop.

I was concerned about changing everything from my 8yr old MacBook Pro to my new one. Everything went smoothly. I'm very impressed with all the associates I've dealt with at Gurnee Best Buy

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is a great laptop but for some reason it deleted my documents from microsoft. I went yo Geek squad service they told me it is something that happens with laptops. Nothing related to microsoft itself

Freezes and hangs....a lot.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A lot of time hanging.....have to force quit frequently. I had an 11" that I loved but I wanted a bigger screen and thought this was a compromise. A friend has one and told me it was always freezing and hanging....I assumed it was a fluke since I'd had such good luck with my 11". Whoops. I would get rid of this if I hadn't paid so much--ordered it with the maximum storage. Can't swipe through my photos, hangs and doesn't stop. Can't make two changes when I want to print, hangs. My advice: buy at Apple and take it back immediately if this happens. It will drive you crazy and slow you down. Unfortunately I bought mine at another business because I liked their repair service and I waited too long to catch on.

dont pay attention to fake reviews
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.legitimately the worst laptop i have ever owned, and for the most part every single technology device i own is apple. i cant even tell you how many times this laptop has just randomly froze, and i had to shut it completely down wether it be in class (which is embarrassing af) to just trying to do my work at home. genuinely i wish i still had my mac from 2012, thats battery lasted for an hour or 2 before it died than own this. apple also "doesnt know whats wrong" with it, and wants to charge me a ton of money to get it checked out. this is a new laptop. things like this shouldnt be happening, and i know im not the only one, since my friends laptop does the same exact thing, and i have seen reviews online about people talking about the same thing. what a joke. am extremely surprised i was even fully able to type this without the laptop offing itself.
