My First MacBook
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always had a PC, so this is my first MacBook. I have had iPhones and iPads for years, so I'm familiar with Apple products. I am very happy with the MacBook so far, but I'm glad I have a 15-year-old in the house to help me. Several things have not been intuitive, but my resident IT specialist is patient with his mom. I love how light and streamlined it is. The screen quality is better than what I'm used to. I like the keyboard and mouse pad. I purchased a hyper drive so I can connect to my TV with a HDMI and plug in various USB devices like my external hard drive. It's much easier to download photos from my phone than it was to my PC. And the long battery life is amazing! My old PC was down to about 20 minutes of battery life. The MacBook holds a charge for days if I'm not using it much.

Forever a Mac user from now on
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will never switch back to a non-apple computer again. It was an adjustment to get used to since I’ve only ever had windows but I’m loving it! It never gets hot, I never heard it “run” like my HP did alllll the time. And the battery life is amazing. Forever a mac user.

I love it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop is my favorite computer I’ve ever used. It’s lightweight, quiet, ultra fast, the battery lasts very long. I never used a Mac before but it wasn’t difficult to figure things out on my own. It’s definitely higher priced/overpowered for most of the things I use it for, but I am really glad I spent the money.

Rose gold pure love
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it instead of my old Max laptop and absolutely love it. Sleek, small, rose gold (looks like love), easy to carry around, battery lives forever, even when you are using the internet, this laptop is a great upgrade from my old one. Love what they did with the M1 chip, very fast and just great.

MacBook - perfection and silence
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Returned my HP Laptop and upgraded. Should have gotten this from the start. Powerful processor. Great speed. Super light. Modern and sleek oh and fanless. So no whirring. None. And doesn’t get hot yet. 2 weeks in. I love my apple products but this MacBook Air takes the cake. Buy it if you are on the fence.

Classic MacBook with better battery life
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Its a MacBook-nothing bad to say about it. For the same price like older models and the same loved design im getting almost double battery life witch is great. Light, thin, beautiful. The fastest laptops ever (maybe after the pro version) If the money r not a problem-buy it! If you need high quality performance-buy it!

Love it...
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because I was tired of going through laptops every other year. So far the battery life and speed make it top notch. I actually like the 13 inch screen better than I anticipated. It does get warm when used on lap, so beware of where you are using it. Overheating causes it to slow down.

Great for college students!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this around 2 years ago now and it’s still running like new. I spent a lot of time coding and taking notes on this and it’s never failed. The battery life in particular has been astonishing. I work in IT and haven’t came across a Windows device that even comes close.

A dream
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Build quality and performance are top notch. If you are moving from PC you'll of course have a learning curve and probably need to be willing to invest time in youtube tutorials or find someone who uses mac to show you the ropes. This is the laptop (in this price range) that actually marries quality and value. I returned mine because I'm a PC gamer and built my own gaming rig, so I couldn't stomach the lack of upgradability. Also keep in mind you won't be playing most of the same games you might play through Steam and other places that you can on an entry level PC laptop. However, for productivity purposes, light editing with the included Apple apps like iMovie, watching videos, and browsing, this model can't be beat. It's lightweight, the screen is fantastic, and it doesn't charge you $200 extra for the useless touchbar. Definitely recommend this over the 2020 Pro as performance is near identical, size feels better in the hands, and price is much better.

The little chip that could...
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I debated long and hard whether it was worth the money to upgrade from my previous 12" macbook to the new M1 powered Macbook Air. On paper, the specs seem very similar (memory, SSD) but after owning this thing for the past two weeks I can say that the M1 is every bit the phenom is is made out to be. I would slate the battery life to be at least 2x what the 12" Macbook was or than what my work 13" Macbook Pro is. I was concerned about compatibility with the new chip architecture, but I found that even those feisty plug-ins can be installed on top of the Rosetta 2 architecture without problem. (Tip: I chose to install the x86 version of chrome to be able to use when plug-ins didn't support the ARM chip, but so far I only use it for flash and one proprietary work plugin) Bottom line - this thing is great with half of the apps not even optimized for the chip yet. I am totally happy with it now, but also expect it will get better as more developers move to support this chipset. I'm now comfortable recommending it as an upgrade for family members who I have to provide support to. :)

Excellent, but with a catch.....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What can I say? The Air is an excellent machine. Pretty, light, silent, fast, beautiful screen, long battery life, and the stability and beauty of MacOS. That said, this is not a Pro level machine. If you want to use MS Office, browse the web, and enjoy full integration with your iPhone and iPad, then this is the perfect machine. If you need to do real work in a professional workflow, like run Parallels, heavy multitask, rendering work, etc... not the right machine. You will quickly eat up the 8GB RAM and the thermal throttle on the fanless M1 base will show its ugly head. If you need a real workhouse, look at the 14" MacBook pro with the M1 pro or better.
