Open box “excellent-certified”? Not sure how....

Ordered an “open box excellent certified “ MacBook. It arrived in original packaging but was not sealed or taped by Best Buy. The computer has what looked like adhesive and marks on the top case and on the wrist areas of the keyboard panel. Also marks on the bottom of the computer. Condition was not excellent and I have no idea how Best Buy could have verified this computer under their standards.
