Right. I haven't had my Mac very long, but I know Apple products and very seriously doubt time will change my review. I upgraded from a 2016 MacBook Pro with Intel 5, which still runs just fine. I wanted the battery life, speed, and most of all a better keyboard. I do a lot of writing so keyboard is important. My 2016 model has a poorly designed keyboard. This 2020 MacBook has a great keyboard and typing is so much easier. The battery is unbelievably long lasting. I have not conducted any time tests, but out of habit from my old one I periodically check how much juice I have left - it is amazing. I'm on my second evening running web pages, chat apps, so on, and the battery is at 40%. And it was not fully charged when I started last night. The monitor is great and the speakers are far above my expectations. I've seen reviews of this laptop and almost always I hear them whining about only having two Thunderbolt ports. My old MacBook has four of them. I never ever used more than two at a time. That is of course my use and needs. Having two ports is not a problem, and if it were there are plenty of expanders, whatever you call them. I don't use video or audio editing apps. I do have a lot of apps open at the same time - Chrome, Outlook, Word, chat apps, YouTube, etc. I have not had any problems running all these apps at the same time. The M1 chip seems to be a winner. Of course I have never been an Intel fan, opting for AMD when I had Windows PCs a long time ago. The Intel i5 in my old Mac did okay. I am guessing that the chip is responsible for draining the battery and if true the i5 is a energy sucking monster. I highly recommend this laptop. I am not a huge gamer, but from what I've read from other reviews the M1 does the job. I was very hesitant to purchase this with 8GB ram, but so far what is under the hood is doing the job. Like I mentioned above, the keyboard is a dream to use, the touchpad is Apple great, the M1 does the job, battery life is super great, and so on. Buy it, you will be happy with this machine - especially if you are abandoning the dark side to move into the light!

I've had Windows laptops, Surface Pros, iPads, Chromebooks, etc... as my "daily driver" web browser and video watching machine. There was always just something not quite good enough about them all. The Surface Pro had a great screen but I never utilized the screen only option and the weak Core m3 processor and 4GB of RAM made it slower than I had hoped. Chromebooks seemed like the answer but even they suffered if the processor wasn't adequate; so I got one with a Core i3 and the cooling fan started running loudly and constantly. The iPad came close but needs a keyboard and unless you buy the big boy, the screen size and resolution isn't ideal. I've had laptops ranging from $600 to $1500 but there's always something. Poor screen quality, heavy, running hot, dumb keyboard layout...always something. I know what I want and I've finally found it. I know I'm picky and hard to please but I love this MacBook. My single complaint is I the cursor disappears in fullscreen mode, which I like, but it reappears a few seconds later and won't go away completely. That's it. That's my single issue. I haven't ran into issues with the 8GB of RAM even though I'm used to 16GB on my Windows machines. If Best Buy had them, I probably would have gotten the Air with 16GB instead of the Pro with 8GB but really, it's been good. I considered waiting on the next gen M1 but they will probably be more than I want to spend anyway. I'm happy!

My Macbook Pro came in wonderful condition. I recommend this product to anyone looking for compatibility and comfort when it comes to apple products. Having an apple laptop allows me to fully access everything across all my devices. I have been using the product for almost 2 years and have minimal wear on the framing, the battery life is still superb, and I am able to fully do everything I can while being in college.

I do update computers often but this time Apple has mede a big jump with their M1 Chip compare to lasts years, it’s super fast, this chip translate instead of emulate like windows with their Surface Pro and you would notice by a lot the difference, I had my doubts of MacBooks without Intel but the switch was made for the best, the M1 Chip is super powerful, fast, my laptop is never heard and last finally the hours I need for work and much more, apple claims 20 hours which I think it does. I’m super impressed with this new MacBook.

Good performance in a premium metal body. It has amazing battery life and has no problem keeping up with the performance to match the price. the screen is plenty sharp and a bright in most conditions. speakers sound good and get plenty loud. The touch bar is ok. Not great or bad, just different. No boot camp support but parallels works with both ARM versions of Ubuntu and Windows 10 pretty well although if you plan on using that programs for power user productivity, I would recommend getting the 16Gb RAM model.

Have had this machine for more than a month. amazing and beat my expectations. I was in a huge dilemna to buy macbook pro or macbook air . very similar specifications but having used a macbook air earlier, I wanted to try the pro and this beat my expectations. blazing fast to load any program and havent had a crash so far. I had to get used to the touch bar as this was something I never experienced. Hated it at the beginning but after figuring out the nuances, I love it Pros:- Ease of setup, faster Cons:- nothing

I wanted to upgrade from the MacBook Pro I bought back in 2017. With the new M1 chip I thought it was time for a change. I never had a problem with the keyboard on the 2017 model. I love the new Macbook pro. The keyboard is very nice to type on and it is super fast. The only thing is I wish it had more memory. If I do decided to replace the computer in the future that would be the only reason I would make the change. The battery life is unreal. Display is just outstanding.

Wow, just wow. This thing is a beast. Initially I was worried the 8GB model wouldn't be enough for me since I do video editing, and some graphic work. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't matter. This computer cuts through video editing like nothing I've ever experienced. The process is so much smoother than I expected, and I am coming from a 14-core CPU, 32GB RAM, with 6GB GDDR6 VRAM dedicated GPU. I love this laptop so much. It is quiet, and more powerful than I could've hoped for. Not to mention portable!

I am very happy with my MacBook Pro. It is lightweight, fast and easy to use. I carry it with me everywhere I go because it is so lightweight. I am writing a dissertation so I have to go from my documents to internet constantly to embed research, utilize thesaurus and access email. I also have to pull up interview transcriptions and coded documents. During my work I have many document windows open that are needed simultaneously. The interchange between all of these platforms is flawless.

I apprecIate this purchase more now than I did at first. I had never owned a MacBook and I was switching from windows. It took a lot of getting used too. I love how sleek it looks. I find it a lot easier to use now and can’t imagine going back. 4 stars because it is extremely pricey.
