Very good college laptop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Mac for my son who was heading to college and it was a very good buy. He loves the ease of use and compatibility with his iPhone. It is light and powerful. Perhaps our family has an apple bias but I would recommend the MacBook Pro. We did also purchase MS Office Home and Student on the school’s suggestion.

macbook pro is a nice upgrade from macair
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My daughter had been using a macair at school but moved to another school that uses Chromebooks. She decided to buy a macbook pro to make it easier to do homework and for personal use. The RAM, processeor, display, and solid state 512GB hard drive will easily carry her through college. The touchbar is also pretty sweet.

Great M1 Chip Pro macbook
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 2 years its still doing great. Recently upgraded MacOs and its till doing fine without any hiccups with M1 Processor. 512GB is much needed as i see how softwares and macOS fills up the space. No regret on Switching from Windows, just sometime keyboard shortcuts is annoying.

M1 is king! Can’t go wrong with the new generation
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.New M1 chip is much faster than the intel processor. This product was 150 dollars off and offer the same performance as the 2000+ older MacBook Pro. You will have to purchase the dongle adapter as it only has two USBc ports. Wish Best Buy would carry the 16GB RAM, but it is what it is. So far 8GB is sufficing for lightroom use

Good product, so-so service
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The product is always amazing! The Mac Pro is so much lighter now and the bar feature is kind of cool. Excellent product. But less plug ins so of course more things to buy. On a positive note, all items we bought were in stock. The employees were polite, but the numbers were off, and we don't feel like we got what was advertised. Ear pods were promised, but not delivered, but said we could get them for an extra cost. Disappointing especially under as student/educator discount. In fact, both my daughter and I bought new computers and accessories. Questioning if we will return again in the future.

Great laptop
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a windows user my whole life, but after using this macbook I'm not sure that I would go back to a windows based laptop. This is a great device for school and streaming videos/watching youtube, netflix etc. It is really well designed. Cons: The lack of ports is a big issue, I had to buy a USB-C extender port (I think it's called the hyperdrive) and that works well but that was an extra $100 alone. Also, I've noticed that there are some dead pixels on the actual monitor. I'm not sure how that happened or if it's a common/rare issue. But the lack of ports could be a big issue unless you plan on getting the hyperdrive. The battery has been pretty good, I can go days without charging but that does take a toll on the battery health. I've checked it and now after 7 months since my initial purchase the max battery capacity is down to 97% . But I did some reading and I guess that is supposed to happen as the batteries age. I know there is a way to replace the battery but I'll have to look into that when the time comes.

MacBook Pro M1
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new MacBook Pro is very fast, and porting over your profile and the like from your previous MacBook is seamless and easy. It was definitely worth upgrading from my 2012 MacBook Air. Also, you get more computing power for a little more dollars, while the MacBook Pro is not that much larger or heavier than the MacBook Air.

Macbook!
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The last MacBook I owned lasted me a long time and I was tough on it. With this upgrade I can definitely see the difference in speeds and display. Battery life is great! So far this laptop has been amazing and I expect that it will be long lasting. A+

A nice machine, but not much nicer than a MB Air
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm giving the outgoing 13.3" MacBook Pro a 5-start rating for product quality, the (outgoing) innovative but critically panned Touch Bar, and the excellent display and physical case design. It's typical MacBook perfection - the M1 processor is plenty fast for general browsing, streaming, and student/business tasks. Where I feel it falls short is differentiating itself from the much less expensive MacBook Air M1 model. You end up with almost the same CPU/GPU specifications, size, and build quality's with just a little (and I do mean little) improvement for the $500 in additional cost. Ultimately I exchanged this back to Best Buy for a 2021 MacBook Pro M1 Pro model for significantly more money. The bottom line is that the outgoing 2020 13.3" models are still great machines with plenty of life and performance. The big question is, how much better is it vs. a MacBook Air and do you want to pay for the "Pro" premium?

Super Fast and Long Battery Life!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This thing is fast! I probably don't need "Pro" speed, but I was replacing a June 2012 MacBook Pro that was still running OK for an 8 year old machine but it was time for something new. I will say that the new model has made me a Safari user really for the first time. Chrome has been my browser of choice for years, but it was a little laggy and completely crashed from time to time so I flipped over to Safari and it is a MUCH better experience. An internet speed test with chrome and safari side-by-side on the same machine gave me 200mbps faster internet. That sold me on using Safari. I recorded 4.5 hours of footage in iMovie to create a time-lapse video, the rendering and saving process was almost instant which was certainly not the case on my 2012 with Intel i7 chip. Lastly, the battery!!!! Oh my goodness, let me preface this with me just picking it up a few times a day to check e-mail, news, and quick browsing but right after purchasing and charging it to 100%, I went from Saturday to the NEXT Wednesday (11 days) and the battery was down to 14% so I plugged it up again.

Very happy with my purchase
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good laptop. I really like the Touch Bar and the size of the screen. I was worried about it being too small but it is more than plenty to do everything that I do on a regular. The weight is perfect for traveling and the battery life is very surprising. I would buy it again with no questions asked.

Updated to Mac Pro M1
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought to replace older Mac Pro. Sale price was excellent, Best Buy even honored a lower price I found on this computer. Computer is very fast and works like any Mac Pro, easy to use and very lightweight with long battery life.

4.5/5 Stars! Amazing Macbook Ahead of it's Time.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4.5/5 Stars! This Macbook has been an exceptional machine over the past week. Its speed is incredible. The battery life alone is game-changing. The magic keyboard is second to none. I have never used the TouchBar before, but so far I have enjoyed its quick response and ability for shortcuts. Where I knock the .5 stars off of this review would be some of the bugs involved with this being the early stages of the M1 chip. There are often times some issues with opening non-Apple apps like Chrome, or downloading some iOS apps (something the M1 chip should be able to do). These are minor kinks that will be fixed with software updates over time and don't greatly affect my daily work. Out of the box, this is a fantastic machine and worth every penny. Apple and the MacBook can only go up from here. Very happy with my purchase!
