A Milestone with the M1 Processor

I bought this to test out Apple's 5nm M1 processor produced by TSMC. This thing is incredible. It is light, extremely fast, and the battery lasts up to something like 18 hours. Did I mention it was extremely fast. It's a solid machine and I think Apple did a really good job integrating all the other components with the new chip effectively and efficiently. I assume by controlling the entire hardware ecosystem, Apple has been able to optimize the use of the components and how they communicate with each other and are used by the software. The biggest current issue I have is that VMWare does not work on here and I can not run virtual windows. I hope they fix this soon.

So happy I bought this laptop. It's much lighter than my older MacBook. I do use shortcut touch bar at the top and the larger track pad is more sensitive to the touch. Plus it's so fast.

The first computers I used extensively were Mac's back in 1987. Then I got a job where they only used PC's with windows and I've used that until now, 33 years! There are some fairly minor differences between how each works and that has been an adjustment. Still trying to get pages to fix on my external monitor, I was able to download MS Office and can do as much or more than I could before. I love the security features and intuitive ease of use. It is powerful enough to do all I want to do, quickly and efficiently. I love my new Mac.

I'm still learning about the updates which are different from my old computer. This one is much faster and even with the smaller screen, has very clear pictures/images. I'm adapting to using the pad to move the page up or down; sometimes the computer won't let me do what I want - probably because I can't figure out how to tell it since it doesn't seem logical to me where to find things. I still find that the "help" section isn't much help - it doesn't seem to give enough clear information for someone like me, who is not very computer literate. Overall, I think I will really enjoy this new model - it just takes time.

Love this computer. I had the 2013 MacBook Pro and was ready for an upgrade. Glad I waited for the M1 chip. It’s life changing. Best computer ever. So fast, slick, capable, and pretty.

Big improvement over my 2012 MacBook Pro. Downsides No optical drive, but a separate USB drive works. Only ports are headphones, and 2 small USB slots. I had to get an adapter even for SD cards. The adapter can do SD, micro SD, regular USB, HDMI, female video (for projectors) , and a network cable. I like the fingerprint reader to avoid needing to input passwords. the multi bar is a good touch for triteness adjust and volume. built in speakers are really good for being so small. I was used to the glide path. I hav no need for plug in mouse or track ball. So far I'm very pleased. It has the new apple chip.

I absolutely love my new laptop. I've always had an iPhone, Apple Watch, and even owned an iPad once but I've never owned a MacBook and I knew that if I wanted something that would last it had to be this. In the past my laptop have gotten slow very fast and have never lasted more than 3 years with heavy use. Everyone who owns a MacBook has told me they last between 7 to 10 years without a problem. When people tell me that, I know it's a quality product. So far, I have enjoyed the speed at which the processor works at. The battery life is insane, I have rarely charged it. The screen is so bright and it just looks and performs well. I definitely recommend investing in one.

Great laptop, functions very fast and smoothly. Using it for undergraduate program at a university and I love typing on it so much. The keys are very responsive and it feels great typing out papers and notes compared to other computers. The resolution on this computer is beautiful. I only wish that best buy offered the 16 gb ram model but that’s only available through Apple. I upgraded to the 512 gb of ssd myself and I would recommend it to people who store a lot of stuff on their computer. All in all, Apple did a great job with the m1 and all its components inside and I’m very happy with my purchase.

These M1 Macs almost seem to defy logic with how well they run. I can run a browser with 25+ tabs, multiple misc apps, and World of Warcraft with no hiccups. I can play a game on battery for 6+ hours and it barely gets warm. The times I’ve gotten the fan to spin up it’s extremely quiet and you need to really listen for it in a quiet room. Rosetta 2 works amazingly for any software I’ve used that isn’t written for ARM. I can’t wait to see what they do with the 16” MacBook Pros because this is one great start for Apple Silicon. If you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate on this or the M1 MacBook Air, they’ve well exceeded any expectations I had.

The MacBook Pro 13.3" Laptop seems to be far beyond any model that I used with the Windows 7 or 10 operating systems. This includes Laptops from Dell through Toshiba and includes HP models. The MacBook has a user friendly keyboard, great graphics, and a very quich processor. The down side is that I was not aware that the Laptop could be built with a 16 GB Memory, (RAM). I have several brands of other laptops with SSD drives, and have been very pleased with that system. The Mac OS also stops "trackers", that require add-on software with Microsoft. I do not plan to go back to Windows OS.

This is the first Mac I’ve ever owned. Always wanted one and let me tell you... I am not disappointed! This laptop is so fast! Has a backlit keyboard, turns on when you open it, longer battery life then my old Lenovo laptop, and that magic Touch Bar is such a neat feature. This laptop is a little heavier then I was expecting for its size but it’s not too bad at all. Definitely worth the wait to get a good quality laptop like this. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone! The operating system is a little different then a windows system, but so far it’s been fairly easy to figure out. Google has also been my friend with tips and tricks!

Impressive battery life and performance! I was in need of a laptop for photo editing on the go, and was looking at both Windows and Mac OS based laptops. In the end, I went with the Apple M1 Macbook Pro and it has been a pleasure to use. The M1 chip is truly game changing for its performance, speed, and power efficiency. I use it primarily for photo editing with Capture One Pro when traveling. This laptop has converted me to go Apple for my portable needs in the future. Now that the M1 pro/max are out, I am already thinking about the next move!
