I got this as an upgrade to me 2011 MacBook Pro. I love MacBooks. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars because BestBuy labeled this product as 13.3 inch and it in fact is not 13.3, it is 13 inch. This is inaccurate.

As a long-time Windows user, I was hesitant to make the switch to Apple, but the allure of the MacBook Pro 13.3 with M1 chip was too strong to resist. After using it for a few months, I can confidently say that this laptop has exceeded my expectations and transformed my computing experience. Unparalleled Performance The M1 chip is the heart of this MacBook Pro, and it's a powerhouse. From intensive video editing to running multiple demanding applications simultaneously, this laptop handles everything I throw at it with ease. The responsiveness is incredible; apps launch instantly, and there's no lag or slowdown even when multitasking. Enthralling Display The Retina display is simply stunning. The colors are vibrant and true-to-life, the details are sharp, and the text is crisp. Whether I'm watching movies, editing photos, or simply browsing the web, the display is a joy to behold. Enduring Battery Life The battery life on this MacBook Pro is phenomenal. I can easily get through a full day of work and still have plenty of juice left for evening entertainment. I've even gone on weekend trips without needing to bring the charger. Sleek Design and Comfort The MacBook Pro 13.3 is incredibly sleek and lightweight, making it easy to carry around wherever I go. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, and the trackpad is responsive and precise. A Touch of Magic The Touch Bar is a unique feature that I've grown to appreciate. It provides contextual controls and shortcuts that adapt to the app I'm using, making my workflow smoother and more efficient. Verdict: A Must-Have for Professionals and Enthusiasts The MacBook Pro 13.3 with M1 chip is a game-changer. It delivers exceptional performance, a gorgeous display, long battery life, and a sleek design, making it an ideal choice for professionals, students, and anyone who demands the best from their laptop. I highly recommend this remarkable machine.

I will never buy a laptop from Best Buy again

I bought an open box excellent condition geek squad certified computer earlier this week. As soon as I opened the box, turned it on and that was the end of it. I’m able to return it but that’s beside the point being that Best Buy made me jump through hoops to even get to the point of realizing I bought a certified computer that obviously wasn’t even looked at by a tech. The guy who fixed it at the apple store said this happens all the time and Best Buy’s geek squad certified computers just means someone pressed the power button and if it looked like it powers up they slap a seal of approval on it. The way the salesman made it sound I thought some kind of tech diagnostics was run on these computers to make sure someone didn’t break it before they returned it. I had purchased a laptop on Monday thinking that that evening I could start working on a projects that I had intended on doing on my new computer. Unfortunately when I followed the store instructions and drove from one side of island to the other to pick up my laptop I found out they had sold the computer that I purchased and were not able to help me even order another. Long story short it’s now Wednesday and I just picked up my new laptop from the Genius Bar hopping it’s actually going to work this time. Now I get to work on my project that was supposed to be finished today.

What can I say, I love Apple computers. This is my 7th Mac laptop, my 5th MacBook Pro since 2010, and my 28th Mac since my first 128K Mac in 1984. My very first laptop Mac was the Wall Street model in about 1998, and what a dinosaur it was compared to this one! I've had all these Macs, and not a one ever died, so I fully expect the same longevity from this new one. Apple computers don't fail quickly, and you end up having to upgrade because of the OS/processors and lack of support after a certain time. I'm still regularly using a 2010 MB Pro 17", but now have issues as the OS is no longer supported by Apple. But everything still works! I bought the 16" MB Pro two years ago (Intel chip), and this one with the M1 chip actually doesn't seem appreciably different or faster or better for my uses except I do think the battery life is noticeably better than either my 16" MB Pro or the 2016 MBPro 13" I also have. I probably would have chosen the new 14" MB Pro but it wasn't in stock anywhere when I purchased and since I got a too good to pass up price match on this one due to Christmas sales, I don't really regret not buying the 14, which would have been $700 more. Everything works great as expected, no surprises, setup was a breeze, so far Big Sur OS is good and has no issues. Beautiful display, the lighted keyboard is great, and I actually quite like the Touch Bar, which was oddly eliminated on the new 14" models. The sound is excellent, although I compared it with the 14" MacBook Pro and the latter had a bit richer sound with slightly louder sound levels. However, this one is no slouch and has very good sound that is far better than my older 13" Mac and not quite as good as my 16". The main negative is that it only has only two USB-C ports, whereas the 14" has more ports, an SDS card reader slot, plus the wonderful magnetic power cord is back again. On this 13" M1, the USB power connection via USB-C is pretty poor and the plug comes out too easily and almost seems loose. I decided I could live with just the two slots because I had no problem with my older 13" MB Pro with two slots. I really miss the old days when I could later add extra memory or swap out a drive myself (last time I did this was on a 2013 MB Air, but these days you have to predict when you purchase how much RAM and the disk size you will need as these things are not changeable. I got the 8GB RAM and 512GB drive, although I would have preferred more RAM and a 1TB drive. However, for what I use this particular Mac for, this configuration is undoubtedly fine and the extra RAM and disk space will never be an issue for me. I've read that the Apple M1 chip utilizes memory much more efficiently, and also helps with battery life. I can definitely say the battery life is far better than my 2016 MBPro 13" (Intel chip). I do love the thin profile and very light weight of this model, and overall it's a great little Mac for sure. For most uses, no one would ever be disappointed in this wonderful, beautiful, sleek machine. Love the space gray color, too!

At first I was not wild about the idea of getting a new MacBook Pro that had only 8gb of RAM. I have always been a believer that the more RAM the better. In this case, the 8gbs and the M1 chip made no difference for my usage. I have yet to experience any slow operating of any programs. Additionally, unlike all the other laptops I have had, the fan has yet engage on this devise. Usually my computers sound like they are going to launch into orbit but this one has net to reach this milestone. Even during online classes the fan never turned on. The battery life on this unit has been impressive so far. I was able to get on multiple zoom calls during the holidays without rushing to charge the computer. The Touch Bar is a cool feature, definitely something to get use to. If you are buying this computer make sure and buy the accessories so you can plug in USB devices. So overall, if you are worried about the RAM, don’t rule out this unit yet. If you’re an everyday user like me and don’t do a lot of video, audio or picture editing, this unit should be just fine for you. I am very happy with this purchase.

I use my new M1 Macbook Pro almost every single day. It is amazing for work, gaming, and school. The cost was well worth it and I am surprised how good the M1 seems to be for such a great deal compared to the pricier Intel ones. This was my first product in the Mac line and I found the Touchbar extremely innovative. It rarely gets loud and hot, only when I am working on very graphic heavy programs. It also runs programs that I was afraid it wouldn’t (due to the M1 chip versus the traditional Intel) very easily. I also love the way everything is interconnected with other Apple products which is the primary reason I choose this over another brand. My one qualm is the ports. They aren’t inherently bad, however, finding adaptors for it is extremely difficult. If you plan on purchasing one of these, do your self a favor and get a Bluetooth Mouse which will save you money and is much easier than the two finger tap.

I use this laptop for everything. It is sooo powerful and fast. I have multiple textbooks that are over 1,000+ pages and take up a lot of space and the laptop never lagged or anything like that. I know this isn't really a gaming laptop, but I played a lot of large video games and the computer never crashed, lagged, etc. its pricey, but its definitely worth it!

One of the best built laptops ive every used. everything about the macbook screams quality and attention to detail. it just works and is a beautiful device. Typing on the keyboard feels natural to me with a satisfying feel to the keys. I know the touch bar is controversial for many i think its pretty cool and like its overall feature set from a normal non pro perspective since i never used the function keys on any keyboard i wont really miss them. The display is excellent a promotion would have been nice on this laptop but isnt all that missed for me vs on the ipad and iphone. Love the functionality this pc has with my other apple devices. It actually has a trackpad i want to use unlike any other laptop where i instantly look to connecting a mouse as soon as possible i have not connected one to this laptop once. M1 chip has impress speeds and cant outlast an ipad which also stays cool and quiet while doing so. Overall and amazing device its expensive but i can tell what your paying for build quality is best ive ever felt and software is fast and fluid which doesnt try to serve ads in os with a key attention to user privacy.
