MacBook Pro review

My only issues are that I didn’t get the color I wanted and when it comes to gaming/streaming a lot of the equipment requires extra steps or hoops. I upgraded from a 2015 MacBook Air and I can say that the quality is much better as well as the performance. All thumbs up from me other than that.

The Sound Man

I run live sound for bands and have about 100 shows a year. This Mac is powerful and very easy to use. I am ecstatic about this computer and how easy the transition has been from a windows based system. This system works amazing with my digital mixing consoles.

Great upgrade from my 2009 13" MBP!

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The touchpad on my 13" 2009 MBP (256GB SSD) had reached an intolerable level of malfunction, so I decided it was time to retire it and replace it. So far, this M1 13" MBP has been great replacement. The fingerprint-reader that's integrated into the power button has been an unexpectedly-nice perk. The touchpad is much larger and, best of all, actually functional with ease-of-use (no more having to use both hands just to execute many of the multi-finger commands/swipes). The touchBAR is a sort of a "take it or leave it" hardware UI upgrade. I like that the touchbar instantly adjusts to provide, say, spellcheck and other application-pertinent UI prompts when traveling from one app window to the next or from one Mission Control desktop window to the next. My only complaint was with migrating files from my 2009 MBP to this 2020 M1 MBP. Air Drop and iCloud work great for a lot of things, but not so much when trying to acquire files/applications from a 2009 device. Ultimately, I ended up deciding to use USB-A flashdrives and USB-A to USB-C adapters to get everything moved that I wanted to migrate the new device.

Awesome build quality but MacOS wasn’t for me.

Unfortunately I returned it because MacOS wasn’t my cup of tea. If this had windows I would have loved it. I gave it 5 stars because it’s high quality, MacOS is a personal preference so it’s not fair to lower the star rating for that reason.

Wife is using the MacBook Pro and is happy with it

She's using it to Zoom, for YouTube exercises, viewing an exercise DVD, Internet searches, for email, for family accounting, etc. And she can move it to other rooms if needed. Plus the battery life is great.

M1 chip is a beast!!!

The M1 chip is lightning fast, and macOS runs flawlessly. The 13 inch is big, and light enough to carry, as well as see the screen with no problems. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this MacBook. 8MB. 512gig
