I'm impressed every year with this game. I'll admit, I tend to get pessimistic wondering 'no way it is going to better than last year's version', but to my surprise, it does. Practice features are a must. You really do get better with the practice/skill sessions. This is a game you can't just start your franchise right away.

Best football game out, it's the only football game out. Same old, but always fun.

This football game is spectacular! It has great controls and graphics as well. Sound is fantastic along with a great AI. Online play is wonderful. This is how sports games should be designed! Thanks EA! Keep up the great work!

Madden 17 is not vastly different from last year's installment. That is not a bad thing because they've really built a solid foundation over the last few years, and this game is more about refining the experience to elevate the game play and presentation. The all new commentary is a little on the bland side, but the fact that it will be updated weekly throughout the season means it won't get repetitive as quickly, and also leaves potential for improvement. There have been changes to the special moves available to skill players which makes the game more balanced, while new tackle battles provide opportunities for tackles to be made or broken if your reflexes are fast enough. The blocking and running game has taken another step forward this year making the running game more fun and effective. The changes on the defensive side of the game have made it easier to compete against the offense as well. There are less plays that "break the game" on offense so you'll see less repetitive plays being run while trying to defend the AI or someone online. This is a must buy for Madden fans, and the best time for newcomers or players who've left the series alone for a while to jump back in.

I've been purchasing the Madden series for years and they get better each and every year. I'm always a year behind, but that's when you can get the game at a great price. $60 for a video game is a bit pricey for me, but we were able to get this for $15 at Best Buy when it was available on the Deal of the Day special.

To be fair, I haven't had the pleasure of playing this yet, but look forward to playing with my son in the near future. I know others who have it and have played it and recommended it as a fun and engaging game with good graphics.

This may be the best madden game to date. I love the commentary team of Davis and Gaudin. A lot of in depth analysis that is small but makes the game seem like you are playing on Sundays. The gameplay is smooth and organic. The superstar players seem to play like they should. The fumbles I have had an issue with but it's okay. I love the kicking meter. It makes the game seem so realistic. All in all, this is a must buy. being an avid franchise player they made the necessary steps to evolve this game. Thank you EA

ok so your looking for the latest and greatest of football games, well keep looking this ain't it. but what it is, is a great football game that's cheap, not as good graphics but still good for its time.

What is there to say about the yearly madden that hasn't already been said? Every year we see another edition of Madden football that has some tweaks and improvements to the relatively standard formula. I will say that this year's entry is a pretty good one. There is a revamped and much upgraded Franchise mode. This is the mode I play more than any other so this was a good for me. The interface is nicely streamlined, the menus are easy to navigate, and there is a lot of information at the ready that hasn't been there in previous years. I enjoy the ability to assign players to the practice squad, and I also like the quick roster overview, which allows you to reorder your depth chart very quickly. This same view also allows you to go into more depth on each player, such as their stats, contract info, and upgrade XP. There is some cool features now such as Suggested upgrades for your players, staggered contracting that only allows you to start negotiating with certain players at certain points in the season. I also like the ability to choose game plans before each game as well as the 3 players that you would like the training to place your focus on. The game plans that you choose translates into the game by awarding extra XP when you choose those plays. Moving on towards gameplay, I do enjoy the feature that allows you to choose what type of game you'd like to play. You can choose from Offense or Defense Only, the full game, and then you can choose to play key moments. The Key moments format brings you into a simulation version of the game which then allows you to jump in on either side of the ball at pivotal moments that you would expect. (Red zone, 3rd down plays, 4th down plays, and a pretty variation of others that allows you to take direct control when you want to, while not dragging the game out over a period of time that you may not have to play.) Accompanying the gameplay is a new set of commentators. And I will say that this is some of the best and most contextual commenting that I have ever heard in a a Madden game. When playing franchise mode it really helps the immersion when you hear them chatting about your team as well as the other team. You will hear references to past games of the season, winning or losing streaks, and even specifics on certain stats like turnovers and things like that. They have also added the score ticker to the bottom of the screen of all of your games so you can see what is going on in the rest of the week's games. Now for your meat and taters. FOOTBALL! In order to win the game you have to score more points than the other team!! What can I say about the gameplay? it's football. It works, there's some pluses and minuses. It took a while before I started feeling the differences and nuances in the gameplay from last year. But they are there. The game feels a little faster, it also feels harder hitting. The running is a lot of fun this year when you can establish it. The passing makes for some really spectacular plays and catches. A lot of veteran players will be frustrated with some of the same old inconsistencies. But this is where guys like me and them will find their way to the custom gameplay sliders. I tweak these every single year until I find a comfort level of realism and fun. They are worth experimenting with. All in all I'm glad that I bought it on sale. Which is what I typically do every year. I don't feel the yearly upgrade is worth full price unless you absolutely can't wait to have it. I will likely continue buying Madden every year as it is the only iteration of pro football out there for gamers so you can pretty much take it or leave it. Play on!

Got a great price by buying last year's version. I doesn't have the most current players but the game still works great and is still fun. Hope to do it again next year.

Madden 17 takes steps in the right direction. The game play is smooth and realistic while the graphics are good as well. The new commentary is refreshing with new updates coming each week since it's been released meaning that it doesn't sound like a broken record after the 3rd game. The time spent to revamp the franchise mode is amazing giving you the opportunity to take control of your favorite team and make pivotal decisions easily with the new layout and focusing on training helps learn the new mechanics of this year's game. While there is always room for improvement EA is definitely moving in the right direction.

You know what you're getting from Madden each year. Sometimes theres more of a focus on one side of the ball than the other, but EA always delivers a great game

Love this game, graphics, newer controls, and some enhanced features. Too bad I suck and get my butt kicked all the time online. But that's my fault anyhow I guess.

Seriously enjoyable game. I haven't played Madden since Sega Genesis. It has come a very long way. I love the frequent updates. My addiction is MUT and the online play. The challenges are a nice change of pace. Seasons are decent fun too for a little bit, but MUT is where it is at-- it has made me an addict. Haven't played any other modes. This game's a winner!

Great game play good graphics. Tony Romo is still playing! If you can't afford the latest version this is a good substitution!

I really enjoyed the new dynamics and player likenesses as well as the live commentary update so when you play a game it has update information on the players and teams as on going in real life ex. Colin kap. Drama. Very smooth and enhanced with the deep franchise mood with the addition of a practice squad to train and develop rookies. Great game!

2017 Madden is a solid year, the gameplay accounts for human body movements well. Not a bad play experience, at all.
