If you had already bought Madden 18, there’s nothing too different this year besides a couple features to Franchise and Longshot. The new touchdown celebrations are barely even seen. Animations and actual gameplay is very reminiscent of previous Maddens.

On defense you can’t cancel a players individual responsibility with out the screen getting stuck zoomed out and when you reset the view, your player commits an encroachment. Any time you commit a turnover on offense , your player will get stuck in an animation of throwing a fit while the defense is running the ball back. Injuries are EA Sports favorite thing this year. I played franchise with the 49ers .. and in one game Jimmy G, McKinnon, Joe Staley and Reuben Foster all go out with critical injuries ... in a single game though?! This happens often, too. Dropped passes on nicely thrown balls . Constantly throwing post pattern plays , lead the WR with a man trailing ... the ball hits the WR in the hands , the animation shows a catch.... then contact is made from behind and the ball just falls out of the WRs hands... incomplete. Every game you can count on this happening multiple times . I hit the same route twice in a row with the game doing this with Julio Jones... but you can surely count on any pass thrown remotely close to a defensive player that he’ll catch it for an INT! Why madden got the defense with better hands than the offense ?! Makes no sense. If you go over replays you’ll see that the player speed of non-controlled players are faster than the player you are controlling simply from the motion of their running . You’ll see your WR running routes and as soon as they catch it , their speed drops noticeably. It is a cool concept , but it really causes some major game play issues . The more I play the more things I find. Disappointed, thoroughly

Basically the same as last year with some minor changes. They took some retro uniform options out and added some virtually the same options in. Gameplay wise is pretty much identical to past year, and the engine is showing its age.

I think they need to do an over haul of this game it’s kinda like the same old same. But I guess you have to get it if you want to play the new New with your friends online.

Madden is the same every year. Basically 19 has the same flaws that the game has had since the jump to PS4. Really hoping when PS5 comes out they actually have something new to offer in this series other than roster updates.

I've skipped a few generations as to keep the game fresh. The game is a decent game, but really it's so complicated now. Sometimes I just want to play with some friends and have fun. It often feels like work and not fun.

Madden has been a disappointment for a while now and every year I get nostalgic and end up buying it. I really believe that the game has taken steps back the last few years. EA Sports needs to step it up with Madden 20.

It's really no different from 18. The main difference I've noticed is in the tackling. I really don't like how the players move now either. EA should really stop putting out a new Madden every year and just put out updates.
