Mobster times meet GTA, open world game with tons to do. Not for kids.

Just wanted another title to add to my game library. Game play was as expected and this version came with the free map. Haven't played it much because of the holidays, but it was definitely an entertaining storyline.

I'm a big fan of mafia franchise so I was excited when I heard they was bringing a new mafia out. So far the game has been great I'm going to play alot over the Thanksgiving break so I can't wait to game all night.

They try some pretty interesting things with the story and setting, like dealing with how racism was in the late 60s/early 70s south, that most games wouldn't try to touch. The acting and mocap is excellent and for the most part it's a pretty engaging story. If this was a 10-15 hour game it could probably be great. Unfortunately they decided gamers needed 30+ hours of filler side content thrown into an open world because everyone else is doing it. Side content in mafia III revolves around doing a few types of basic activities (kill a certain enemy, destroy property) over and over again until you unlock the story mission to take out the important mobster. This process repeats for EVERY AREA and you will likely get sick of it really fast. I do think this game is worth playing for the story, just not at full price. Wait for a good sale on this one.

This is my first Mafia game. I was pleasantly surprised by the world the developers have crafted. The story had me hooked. The only bad thing I'll say is the mission structure got a bit repetitive after a while.

Not like the repetitive mafia 2 game. Which got boring after a while. I put aside watchdogs 2 and kept playing this until I finished it. Choose wisely who you give territory to, this impacts the relationship you have with that underboss. The story was good, a little real life conspiracy theory in here but made the game fun to think who was involved .

I didn't play the first or second mafia to compare.it, but I did enjoy this game a lot. The music, the characters, the story added to a great experience. Really feels like you are running New Orleans.

The story is entertaining so far, good graphics and fun gameplay. Not really digging the attempt at cinematics where I am playing and BAM! cut scene.

Mafia III had so much potential by taking the player into an open world within the black mafia of the 1960's. The premise and story is great and keeps you entertained but the rest of the game falls flat on its back. The gameplay is dull and repetitive, the AI is some of the dumbest I have ever seen in a game, and the lighting and textures are lacking big time. Overall Mafia III is a game you get for the story and that is not enough to justify a $60 purchase. Wait until its $30 or $40.
