Disappointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The announcement of Mafia III is what pushed me to finally purchase a PlayStation 4. As a fan of Mafia II I was looking forward to the sequel however it was a letdown. The story is fantastic and the voice acting is top notch but the gameplay itself was repetitive & tedious. I would've preferred Mafia III to retain the linear story centric gameplay of the first two games as opposed to trying to force the game to be open world.

The obvious care and craftsmanship that went into its narrative elements should serve as a model for all other triple-A titles. The gameplay, however, just can't live up, and repetitive missions and technical problems drag the experience down further, turning a game that could have been truly great into one that has to settle for "fair."
