The way the story goes from present tense to post tense keeps you entertained through the entire game.

I really enjoyed Mafia 2, so I was highly anticipating the sequel. I have only played for a few hours but it does get quite repetitive. The graphics aren't as crisp as you'd expect being current generation. It is fun to play and if you like '60s rock music the soundtrack is pretty decent. I'm hoping the game gets better the further you progress in the story.

Mafia 3 is a really good game. It is not amazing, but it has a great story and it is fun to play.

Come for the story and setting, tolerate the slow gameplay progression. Like everyone else says, there isn't a whole lot special about the sneaking and shooting gameplay in Mafia 3. It's good enough to get the job done, but it also sidelines the fantastic story. Great writing and characters, and a perfect ending. It's worth the small frustrations.
