Mafia III had a lot of promise. First off Mafia II was a decent game to work off of, however it was extremely linear. Mafia III is an open-world shooter set in 1968 New Orleans. The game is extremely violent and extremely vulgar. There are jaw-dropping examples of racism (reflective of the 1960s south, I imagine.) The storyline is great, as you follow Lincoln Clay fighting his way through mafia gangs that killed his friends and almost him. Mafia III falls apart in two main ways: glitchiness and repetition. The game is so glitchy: crashes every few hours, terrible lighting effects, and impossible lines of sight by enemies. The repetition of the game is extreme. Every mission involves a little sneaking to kill some guards and then a shoot-out. There are some fun collectibles to gather along the way. I would only recommend renting this game or buying on extreme discount.

Fun enough to play. The controls are a bit funky and take some getting used to. Got it on sale so not to upset about the replay value.

The game has so much potential. But I have to say the quality of the controller is sooo bad. There's a lot of weird stare offs. A lot of conversations are so bad. The people's AI is just weird. The game needed at LEAST another year of polish. If gaming companies don't want to dig more money into their projects, then stop with the open worlds. Just tell us a great story! But if you see the game for $20 or less, if you wanna give it a shot, it's worth a shot. It just tries so hard to be GTA, and it misses so bad.

Game was pretty poor. Lots of glitches. Poor character control. Decent story. Wish I could return and get my money back.

Props to the developers for releasing a game with this controversial story. But the gameplay is very repetitive each location has you clearing out similar rackets with similar enemies with poor AI. I didn't even feel the need to use any other weapons other then a silenced pistol.... lack of variety the game got stale after a few hours. story couldn't even help push me through to the end

Not terribly exciting or innovative. In fact, it's quite repetitive. I got it for $20 and I think that's a fair price point. The atmosphere is pretty decent but I really can't sing any praises for the game as a whole. Also has a weird tendency to freeze and/or crash from time to time.

Mafia 3 at the end of the day seems like GTA lite. It's an open sandbox game based upon violence, similar to the Grand Theft Auto series. The biggest difference is how GTA has charm, characters, and stories to care about. No one is going wild over mafia. The brand is dead

Mafia 3 has a great story and a great soundtrack but the game becomes repetitive after the first couple of missions you will find yourself grinding out mission after mission just to finish the story it's a cheap gta 5 knock off wait for a sale before purchasing

It is a OK game for adults but it's not for kids. My husband wanted this game, he luv it but when I watch him play something , the things I hear and see is unbelievable,. Once again not for kids.

I think the entire budget went to writing the story, the gameplay is spotty and the environments repeat themselves. The graphics leave alot to be desired as well. Setter clear of this game.

It could have been great if they spent more time developing the game. Details sometimes aren’t that great. The world still seems not that interactive. Poor AI.

Great game. However, I found the game brand new for the same price as this preowned copy, and so I returned it. Just get it brand new if you don't mind spending an extra $10.

This game gets boring fast I recommend GTA 5. Game was very repetitive quickly and I couldn't finish the story due to the games issues it was a disappointment

I am new to the Mafia Franchise and was excited to buy this game. In my opinion, it is too much like GTA, but not as good. There are some glitches too.

If you played the first 3 or 4 hours, you've seen everything this game has to offer. It's pretty repetitive and boring.

I waited years for them to finally get this game together and after reading the reviews I figured I would give it a shot - what a disappointment. As most reviewers have said; the game can be monotonous but the storyline of the game makes up for it (the music is pretty cool too) but the ending .. and the fact that you cannot continue to roam after you've completed the game makes it a total dud - now I read they are releasing another 'game' as an upgrade to this so you can continue .. WHAT A JOKE!

Gameplay seems like a cheesy rip off of GTA. Problems include poor handling, slow and pointless story, and BORING.
