I knew I wanted to convert my landline into a VoIP solution. A friend recommended MagicJack. I tried it, great price for hardware and 1yr of service (including Caller ID, etc) from Best Buy. I have used it for 12 months now, and like it so much, signed up for their 5 yr plan (using same hardware.) great deal. I do not want to rely on cellular only, as in emergencies, cell towers will be flooded, so this is an excellent low cost addition. And with their recent cell phone app, I can easily answer my home phone when I am traveling in real time. So good.

Decided to "cut the cord" and go with VoIP using the magicJack. It works OK, not great though. Many times we get calls and answer only to hear a fast busy. Then again in a few seconds. Finally friends call on my cell and ask what's wrong with our phone. Power cycle the magicJack and it works fine ... for a while. The web interface isn't that intuitive but useable after your get use to their thinking. But for $40 a year it's ok, you get what you pay for. Probably won't renew for another year, we'll just use our cell phones.

The cheapest and best way to go for phone service. Looking forward to it.

If you are going to house phone, this is the best way to do it. I get call to my house and cell phone asy the same time. If you move or travel, just take the magicjack with you and plug it in. It works internationally.

It works as advertised. I was able to get my home number transferred to it without too much difficulty. Magic Jack also did it sooner than I thought. Easy to setup.

Can't beat the value ! A dedicated equivalent of a land line, using Voice Over IP at a very cost-effective price. Additionally, this device is entirely portable. A truly outstanding price/performance.

I purchased this item to help dismantle the outrageous bundle cable providers charge to include phone service. It was easy to port over the old number and service is working great!

This is so much better to have than a regular landline and the cost is unbelievable. I love having imy magic jack.

A couple features that I miss, that I had with my previous landline phone service, is the names of the callers showed on my caller ID, but MagicJack, only shows the phone number, and my previous phone service, showed who was on the other line, with call waiting. I thought there was just interference on my line at first with MagicJack, because, there is a beeping tone, but it doesn't show who the caller is on the other line, not even a number on the caller ID. Other than missing these Couple of features, at least it does work.

Very good for the price. If this item holds up I will save hundreds of dollars.

Magic Jack work fine for a line line replacement. Have had a couple dropped calls but no big deal. Have the same problem with our cell's. Costs per yr less than 1 month of our other carrier.

Device super easy to setup. Work awesome and a lot of savings on phone services. Small slim design. Even when you don't have space it comes with small cable to fit the device behind any furniture.

Works great. I have it set so my answering machine picks up. Saving me 50 a month in a home phone bill. Easy set up. Ported my old number.

I no longer use a land line in my home of home office, and I bought this as a way to do outbound (industry specific) telemarketing without using my personal cellphone as my call back number! It has worked flawlessly!
