We have a VRBO home and need to provide a landline because cell service is bad in the area. NC mountains. Magic Jack provides a great service with cable modem WiFi.

First year is free then is is $35 for the year.$20 dollars to keep the same number.also is a traveling phone you can use it anywhere there's wifi.

The Magic Jack works, but after Porting my number over to keep my old number, the other party to my coversation hears my voice missing out somewhat. I can't talk to a real person at Magic Jack and they don't have technical service. I am saving a phone bill every month though and I will keep working on the matter.

Have been extra happy with MagicJack service. Saves me plenty for an extra phone line that hardly ever gets used versus paying to a cable company.

Magic Jack phone, works great. Helped grandpa get a number at the home.

AVOID this at all costs. First off, its not actually "free". You get 123 months free. After that you have to pay. While paying for it is still cheaper than a normal landline phone, the biggest problem is..... ....good luck hearing anything. Take your current phone volume and turn it down 90%. Now you know what its like to use MJ when talking to someone. They can barley hear you and you can barley hear them. It's so bad we had to resort to using our cell phones to call people back so we could hear them. MJ customer service never talks about this issue and ignores any complaints you have about the volume. Brushing it off as not really their problem. And don't expect and refunds. We paid $20 to port our number over. If we had known the volume was so bad, we would have never ported over the number nor bought this garbage. Thankfully we our Best Buy Elite so we still have time to return this for a refund. If you want legit free VOIP, stick to something like Ooma or Google Voice. Also, to note if you buy MJ. You can't have a voicemail and an answering machine. They force you to choose one. Which is absurd since you need voicemail for when your on the line and you need your machine for when your not home. Oh and surprise, most features that you have normally through someone like ATT, it costs you extra. I should also note MJ has endless complaints about the call volume and also them sometimes holding your number "hostage" despite they legally have to port/transfer your number elsewhere if you choose to ask to do so.

Easy to setup, easy to port your number, great way to keep a "landline" and much cheaper!

I had an old version and it was very handy, especial when traveling. I just bought this one as it is connected directly to the internet modem.

The product is working great now, but I had a hard time setting it up because I'm not good at electronics.

Does everything I needed to get rid of expensive VOIP from AT&T for my "land line" telephones. It even can be set up to send messages to your cell phone

Good value option for VOIP phone service. Connected this to my Comcast ISP service and it works well. Easy to setup and select a phone number. Even works with my temperature monitoring dialer that calls when temp drops to low which I was concerned it might not

This is great for a home line replacement. You are able to port cell numbers (additional cost) and it can ring your smartphone phone with the app installed.
