A true-to-life version of an old tale with a much deeper meaning than all acclaimed "tomatoemetered" movies. In contrast to common stereotypes, Maleficent is shown much more human than the entire kingdom and the true villain, the king. An interesting and very emotional take on concepts of hatred, true love and betrayal. Most things in life are not just black and white and may not be as they seem at first sight.

This the the Sleeping Beauty story told through the eyes of Maleficent. It tells a different story which acts like a history lesson and that there are 2 sides of a story and the truth is somewhere in between. Maleficent is the good guy and that she was wronged by Aurora's father. He was the real evil person in the story. A little dark for kids, but an excellent example of different perspectives. Highly recommended.

Great movie, Jolie playedthe role well as did Her age-varied personas. The storyline is classic, Happiness in youth, innocence shattered, & repairing the souls of all involved. Right up with the Aesop & Grimm fairytales - reminder should be NC13.

This movie is awesome! Just saw it last night and it was much better than I anticipated. The effects and visuals are great, the acting is great and the storyline has a few unexpected twists that make it so much more up to date and refreshing. It also carries a subtle yet strong message with. it Will become a classic for sure, along the lines of the movies Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka (the original one).

I saw this movie in theaters twice, the first time I did not want to get my hopes up for the story and I wasn't dissapointed. Angelina Jolie was a great choice for Maleficent. She played the part very well. I did not like the fariejs so much, but still a good movie. I can't even watch the Disney animated adaptation without thinking of this one and I grew up on the disney animation version.

When I first saw this movie I didn't really know what to expect. It far exceeded my expectations. Ms. Jolie and the other cast provide fantastic performances and the storyline was an interesting and unexpected route through a story I thought I already knew. Excellent. It has a little violence, might be a bit intense for very young children.

I saw this movie in theaters and loved it so much that I bought the Blu-ray disc so that I could watch it in HD. The quality is amazing. I've watched it at least 4 times in the last 6 months. The story line impressed me, especially after watching the original Sleeping Beauty and I noticed what seemed to be lacking from the tale.

Angelina Jolie was the perfect match to play the lead role as MALEFICENT...I fell in love with the movie and I even both the DVD for my 4 years old granddaughter. She saw it on the big screen when it came out and it was her first ever experience to see a movie in a movie theater. Just really loved this MALEFICENT !!! :-)

This live-action movie is a fantastic remake with a great spin on the classic version of Sleeping Beauty. The plot makes the movie seem more realistic and believable compared to the original animated storyline. If you like the original you will LOVE this version! Excellent for all ages!

It has many beautiful and emotional scenes. I would love to live in the fairies world or the "mores" it is a beautiful land.

This movie takes a unique look at the Sleeping Beauty story and except for the portrayal of her parents it's very good. Great visual affects, good story and characters make it a great movie for all. Also some good action and Angelina is great as maleficent. Great movie to see!

Wow... Angelina Jolie nails her performance and Ms. Fanning has potential to outshine her older sister! To keep this short and sweet, great classic fairy tale (with a twist!), well casted actors, pulls on emotional strings, and story captures the sense of magic perfectly.

I saw this movie in theaters in 3D I loved the 3D. I was however disappointed when it was released on blu-ray Disney did not release a 3D combo. I liked the movie so much I went ahead and bought it. Hopfully Disney will release a 3D combo sometime.

The costume design for this is amazing. Angelina Jolie's role is quality for playing a villain. Although, I know she could do it anyway as she is a great actress and producer. Would recommend this classic to anyone who loves Disney films!

Putting a new twist on an old classic. This role was made for Angelina. No one else could have pulled it off like she did. I've watched it a few times with the wife and loved every minute of it. ...And that's without having children.

I really enjoyed this movie and how it showed the classic story from a different perspective and filled out more back story. The effects and scenery in it were gorgeous and Angelina Jolie was born to play this part.

This movie exceeded my expectations. It was a fabulous movie and is safe for all ages. There is ONE scene in particular where there is a fight/war and it may be a little scary for little ones but other than that, it's a fun movie.

I enjoyed the story no one knew about the Sleeping Beauty story. I had always wondered if there was more to the story, and now we know what it was. It always strikes a chord when a bad witch takes a turn for the good.

For being a guy I was shocked on how good this movie was! It wasn't dull at any point and didn't wonder off thinking when it would be over. Plus you can't beat having two versions of the movie (on the go) or with your family.

It's a different approach on Sleeping Beauty and I just love the unique style of the film. Don't miss out. AJ is such a wonderful actor. Also Fannings sister is in it and Sharlo Copley from District 9 is in it as well.
