Repetitive and Mostly Forgetable

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Maneater is essentially the peak of mediocrity, meaning I can think of an equal number of games better and worse than it, while finding nothing technically "wrong" or "bad" about it. It helps that it doesn't take it self too seriously. It's not very hard, which really only makes how repetitive it can be more obvious. You basically swim across a number of maps completing new sets of the same tasks along the way. The enemies, whether on land or in water, have little meaningful variation while provide little challenge. The game could be consider short, but I can't see how being longer or having bigger environments would make it better, because more mediocrity is… well, more mediocrity. If you're wondering, It is an easy and straightforward platinum trophy if that's what you're after. I would not recommend this game at the full $40 initial retail price.

And just like my ex-wife, the level design leaves a little to be desired, I tell ya.
