If you own a switch, or you know of someone who does, buy this game. Full stop. Nothing else to consider. First party games from Nintendo are always a safe bet. They're going to be well designed from the ground up and will deliver a fantastic playing experience, generally for the whole family. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Switch does not fail to impress. You'll have fun with the casualness of it all, but feel free to get into the details and really master the play. Both options work. You'll love this. Just buy it.

I bought Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U when it originally came out (actually bought a Wii U for it!) and loved it. I was disappointed by the lack of a decent battle mode, but the Deluxe version for the Switch changed all that! The battle modes are tons of fun and it's awesome that they included all of the original DLC in this game from the start. Online experience is a little rough (lots of disconnects) but the game itself is great. Must have for all Switch owners! It's great to be able to pop off your joy-cons and play 2 player on the go!

A must have game for the Nintendo Switch. Loads of tracks. Fun to play online with friends.

Really great gaming experience. Smooth as butter, great music, fun sound effects, very immersive. We've come a long way from Kart 64. I haven't really played much video games since the N64 (skipped both the Wii and WiiU, so I kinda feel like an old man jumping back into the World of Nintendo). It's made me feel like a kid again, and with how much stress I've been under these last few years with my health... that's a pretty big deal to me. Thank you, Nintendo.

This is one of the best Mario Brothers games out there and very user friendly. Highly recommended.

Love Mario kart. This version is packed with karts and racers and tracks. Looks amazing on my big screen and in handheld.

For me, as I know it is true for a lot of us, we spent hours playing the original Mario Kart on Super NES & then later even more hours spent Of Mario Kart 64. What is so great about this latest installment is that it pays homage to the Mario Kart roots and still has enough new features to standalone as the best so far. Features like being able to hold onto two items instead of one, or the amount of upgrades and vehicle adaptations, new battle modes, and the beautiful, more colorful level designs. Don't miss out on this game.

We didn’t get to play this game as a family much until the coronavirus hit in Spring of 2020. Previously, my daughter had fun playing with a friend. But I have never laughed so hard taking turns playing the game with a big group of family members. It has great graphics and colors, so it cheered us up, and wasn’t so difficult that non-gamers couldn’t enjoy it. Lots of fun and highly recommended for a variety of skills and age groups.

I've always enjoyed Mario Kart and the Switch version has not changed that. I really like the new tracks and new additions to the game.

This game is a ton of fun. Plenty of courses, characters, vehicles and game modes to choose from. The online mode is good too. A MUST OWN.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has to be the best Mario Kart ever made. This is coming from a guy who's first game ever was MK 64. I loved that game and still love it to this day. I've played every console MK, and several handheld versions, and I feel this game not only the best racing experience of them all, it's also the best celebration of all the past glories of the entire series all in one package. If you have a Switch and you don't have this game, you are missing a vital piece of the whole experience your Switch has to offer.

If you enjoyed previous mario kart games, you will easily enjoy this one. Better graphics, more characters. Easy choice.
