Classic Mariokart with upgrades, new courses, characters, and vehicles. I only wish there were more courses and characters to unlock. They make it easier on you too than in 64 - you can’t fall off from the course anymore (think Rainbow Road).

Its Mario Kart. If you like that, you will like this. Nothing really new.

Purchased the game for the Switch as a gift for my little ones. This version has added characters, additional worlds/tracks, and more modifications than previous versions. Mario type games are always kid friendly so no worries there. I’ve found that Nintendo is adding additional digital content available as an expansion pack on the eShop. I love this option. It extends the overall life of the game for my little ones. Overall, this was a great purchase.

This is one of the best video games out there. It’s fun for all ages and easy to play and understand.

If you never had Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U then do not delay another second, you have to have this but what about those of us who do have it on the Wii U? And those like me who had bought all the DLC - can this remake still bring anything new? Yes, it does. The game looks even better, smoother, faster and comes with a few extra characters and a proper battle mode (the only issue with the Wii U version was the poor battle mode). A classic game just got even more classical

If you bought this game on the Wii U, then you already know how great it is. If not, then you are probably in for a pleasant surprise. It brings everything that the Wii U version had with it plus adds a few Battle Modes. It's a great game for either those that enjoy competition or people who just want to relax and have some fun. While it may just seem like another racing game, there are all sorts of hidden shortcuts and fun surprises along the way.

Love the added maps and different characters to choose from. Nice tracks and my 6 year old loves the game too.

This game is a lot of fun and easy to learn. Good game for younger kids and yet teens still enjoy it.

I absolutely love this game! Had it when it first came out in 2017 but sold it along with the rest of my collection when I sold my Switch. I regretted that ever since, but now I’ve got it back!

There is a reason this is the 8th edition, the tracks just keep getting better. What better way to spend quality time with my kids than racing and enjoying good conversation. I must for the Nintendo Switch.

A ton of fun nearly 10 years later! New tracks are still being added. You can play either in your home with friends, or with people all around the world! A good mix of new race tracks & a bunch of well known classics too!

I bought two extra controllers for this game because it can support four players. The game is so fun for parties!

Has classic feel for the new platform. Music is on point in this version. Easy to play for all ages.

Fun game for friends, family and self. The DLC pack is nice additon even at an additinal cost brings different courses. Love the double items, and online play! If you like mario kart this is as good as it gets until they maybe, or eventually release a new one.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is an upgraded port of the original for the Wii U with all of the DLC included, as well as some extra goodies, but this version is the definitive Mario Kart experience. Whether you want to play alone, with friends, or with anyone online, this entry is a blast for newcomers and experienced players alike. The only criticism I have for the game is that the driving handicaps are turned on by default, and the game never really tells you how to turn them off.
