Absolute blast, also My 6yo and 3 year old actually get along when this is on so thats cool

Mario Kart is a must own title if you have a Nintendo switch. It is fun and it makes a great party game. It also has a solid online presence as well.

Hours of fun with this game. Has so many characters and different game play! My son loves this and the whole family can join in on the fun!

I had this game on WII U, the Switch version is just superior on every single aspect... better graphics, new races, new characters, new modes... Highly recommended!

Game is smooth either on the small screen or big one....can't go wrong either way....many tracks and options will have you playing all day...8 player multiplayer.

Loved the game when it released on the Wii U. It's even better now that I can play the game on the go! Has a much needed revamp of the battle mode and more unlockables!

Great Mario Kart game but what really steps it up for me was how ridiculously accessible some of the changes have made it, You can turn on basically a bumper mode so you never steer off a cliff, auto-accelerate so you don't push buttons to go, and steer by tilting the joy-con. The combination of these mean that my 3 year old daughter can play Mario Kart and actually complete levels and have a great time racing along. She's getting a hang of using the one button she needs to press and that's to launch her items. The way this game has changed so that even someone of her age can play definitely makes it great

My kids absolutely love this game ! You can split the controller to accomodate 2 players, tons of fun maps, tons of fun characters, highly recommended !

So while much of Mario Kart 8 remains the same in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Battle Mode has given me a whole new way to play and enjoy the game. I can’t wait to pick up a couple of extra Joy-Cons so I can play four-player splitscreen on a single tiny tablet. If you have played Mario Kart 8, don’t expect a lot of major changes outside of Battle Mode. The ability to carry two power-ups at once is nice but doesn’t make a massive difference. The already lush graphics look the same as they ever have to the naked eye, though the Switch tablet display really makes them pop.

My 6 year old son loves this game. Very user friendly and the graphics are good. Very accessible for a beginner.

What needs to be said about Mario Kart? If you havent played a game in this series' 25 year history then you must live under a rock. This game is well known and well loved, and for a reason. Choose between many different Mario and Nintendo characters, such as Link or Donkey Kong. Choose a vehicle. Choose a track or championship and off you go! This time around there is heated online versus competition, so hone your skills in single player or local multiplayer and go orove you are the best of the best! Great game and if you have a Nintendo Switch, this should be a required purchase.

First off, if you owned Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U like we did, I stand by my 4 star rating. If you skipped MK8, or this is your first MK title, then this game deserves a 6 star review. Our family loves racing Mario Kart. Moving from the Wii U to the Switch, this was a must have for our family. If you've played Mario Kart before, you're getting the same here (if you played on the Wii U, almost exactly the same). If this is your first Mario Kart title, this game is a blast. The Good: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has a bunch of content. Out of the box you have a plenty of characters to play, a bunch of courses to race, and a lot of play styles to enjoy. I could try to list them all, but there are better wikis out there which will do a better job. One thing I really enjoy is the increase in performance over the previously owned title on the Wii U. If you've played Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U, you'll completely understand. If you haven't played MK8 on the Wii U, disregard the previous critique. The Bad: If you have the Wii U version, you're pretty much paying for the same game twice. The couple of extra characters (like King Boo) and the couple of new vehicles and items do at least add a little more the to game, but not enough to really feel good about it. Again, if you played before on the Wii U, there is no transferring your previous progress to this title. It's not as terrible as it reads, but it's not great either.

Disclaimer - I never played MK8 for the WiiU. I totally skipped that generation of console for Nintendo. I can only speak to the Switch's version of MK8 Deluxe. Let me tell you--it's something special. From the buttery-smooth frames and controls to the sheer variety of courses, modes, racers, carts, and parts, this is Nintendo's most ambitious edition of Mario Kart yet. They deliver! The graphics are great, the courses are fun, and the gameplay is intense. There are the same old annoyances (blue shells, bad luck chaining strings spin-outs), but the horn gives you a little more defense. 9/10, would recommend

You really can’t go wrong with a Mario Kart game. There’s more characters, updated tracks, and just all around greatness to be experienced by everyone.

This is a re-release of the Wii U Mario Kart 8, but with all downloadable content, all characters, and a new Battle Mode option with multiple play styles. There is a control option that helps keep new players on the track that makes this game accessible to new players and little ones. Fantastic graphics, catchy music, incredible courses with waterfalls, canyons, underwater sections, wall driving... you name it, it's in here. The gameplay is fun and deep, playing more unlocks more options to customize your kart. I simply love this game. This is Nintendo firing on all cylinders. Appropriate for all ages.
