This finally turned my 49yr young wife into a gamer and apparently into a sailor as well.

The kids really love this game. We had MK7 for the 3DS and it was played a lot. This game has several new tracks, but also includes classics from earlier versions of Nintendo consoles. You can play 2 players with the JoyCons supplied with the Switch and it makes the game even more entertaining. I would recommend connecting to a TV for Multiplayer, as the Switch screen is very small for more than a single player. Mario Kart 8 has proven to be fun for kids and adults of all ages.

My son loved that game!!! He wants other Mario games now.

Great game and a good edition to the switch library. Only downside is it’s basically a rerelease, but still worth it, especially if you didn’t own the Wii U version.

Great as always. Love Mario kart. So glad my daughter does too. We have some glitches when we play with lots of players but it’s been fun playing online and as a family.

Great fun for a night with friends! Nostalgic games from previous and current Mario Party editions make for hours of great gameplay.

Probably one of the best games for the Nintendo Switch! You know if you have a Switch, you HAVE to have this game. Everyone has it. Everyone plays it. I'm so glad I bought this game and a switch during the pandemic. Being able to play with other friends in other cities or states has brought us closer together. If you buy this, make sure you also purchase the DLC. They are releasing new courses and it's making the replay-ability of this game even higher than it was. Totally worth it!!

Lots of fun to play as a family. Plus you can play online with friends. Great game and reminds me of back when we played as kids.

As an owner of MK8 for the WiiU, I can say this is the way this game should've been from the beginning. The new battle modes add a whole new experience to the game, at least in this area. The reason I'm dropping a star is because no extra courses for race mode have been announced so far. Online mode needs improvement too, hopefully they will address this before they start charging for the service. One thing for sure is that this game will provide you with endless hours of fun, even when playing in single mode.

My grades have tanked since I bought this game I’m literally addicted. I am on the verge of pointing out at work and failing all of my classes because my addiction to the game is so strong. Please if you play limit yourself

If you've never played Mario Kart 8 then just stop reading and buy this. It's unquestionably and by far the best Mario Kart game Nintendo's ever made. If you already own Mario Kart 8 on Wii U then the question is: is this still worth it. I own Mario Kart 8 on my Wii U including the DLC tracks (which come free in this version) but the addition of the best set of Battle mode options ever in a Mario Kart including the options for local or online play had kept me from having any regret on this purchase.

After playing all mario karts, loving the series since the first, I can safely say this is the best of the series. Visuals are sharp 1080p at 60 frames per second in TV mode, and beautiful colorful 720p also 60 frames per second in portable mode. 48 racing tracks, 8 battle stages, multiple battle modes that keep diversity and strategy in the battles. Online play is fast and fluid. Though when playing 3 or 4 players in same console frame rates drop to 30. Controls feature optional motion controls, and steering with auto-accelerate to players who are still learning to play. I highly recommend this game to players of all ages, for single player or crazy party fun. No matter if new to series, or like me following since first, this game is a must for Nintendo Switch owners.

Almost pointless to review this because everyone is gonna say the same thing: hours of fun to be had here, a timeless classic that only seems to get better. Play with others for an enhanced experience. Would recommend to anyone.
